Official "Heroes" discussion thread - Caution: Speculation and Potential Spoilers

Yeah, it was like in a horror movie when they "kill" the boogie man and then drop the gun next to the body.

I thought Sylar morphed himself into a liquid, hence the blood on hte ground and then slithered into the manhole. I figured that's why we (or anyone else)didn't see it happen.

Yes but the poeple watching with maybe the exception of Noah!! (how coool) didn't know Sylers powers. DL & Niki hadn't seen him. Claire did but had her mind on other things like both her dad's & uncle. All were watching the explosion. Sheresh was with Matt and who is going to listen to Molly?

They do have a thing with that cockroach and Syler though!

I'm coming in late to the series. DH and I started watching online last week. I was totally hooked after the first show. I've never really been a sci-fi or comic fan, so I'm surprised I'm so interested in it. It also makes me feel a little lost, though.

We're now up to episode 6, I think. We just finished the epi with DL standing in Nikki's house. I've also read all of the replies here through that episode.

Several questions...I know I'm asking a lot, but if answering these questions will spoil anything for me, please just say that instead of answering.

Has it been determined if DL and Mr. Bennett's mind sweeper guy are the same/different guys?

How did Claire's dad know to steal her tape? Did she say something that made him suspect she has powers? I can't remember...

When Hiro went into the future and saw Isaac dead with his head removed, we'd seen that with someone else's head, right?

When future Hiro appeared to Peter on the subway, I don't think I would have realized they were one and the same if he hadn't said his name. "Current" Hiro is so darned cute, but future Hiro was kinda hot!

Just some more musings on what I've seen so far: I didn't notice the squiggly thing until I saw it on the back of Nikki's alter ego. It's kind of hard watching it on a laptop screen while sharing with DH. I know I miss some things. Does anyone know if they'll show re-runs? I checked for the DVD's but it doesn't appear they've decided to do that.

I think DL must be coming to Micah since he seemed to know that the police won't catch him. Or he's aware of his dad's powers.

I can't figure out if Nikki's alter ego is there to help or hurt her. She seems to want to protect Nikki and Micah, but at the same time she could cause her so much trouble. Is it possible that another hero is taking the form of Nikki and doing things for her? Hence the tattoo on her back and not Nikki's?

I should have responded to things as I read along. I've forgotten so much already.

Hey BB, glad to have you abord the Heroes bandwagon!

The DVDs will be release last week in August if I'm not mistaken. I'm not sure I can answer most of your questions either without giving too much away. Maybe someone else can remember a few things too. It's been awhile and I am really looking forward to the dvd just so I can rewatch everything again! You miss so much watching the first time around!

Jessica is Nikki's alter ego, you'll know her by the tattoo. Keep watching for more details

its really not that bad..she isnt showing her midsection, her skirt is of moderate length, the only thing is a bit of cleavage and that looks like its due to her jumping or something.... people just like to make a big deal out of nothing...considering *other* pop tarts were showing much more at an even younger age, she is being quite modest, the clothes most 17 year olds wear cover less than that.

HAYDEN PANETTIERE @ WIZARD WORLD PHILADELPHIA

Hayden Panettiere
Seating was scarce at Wizard World Philadelphia's most packed panel yet, a reminder of the power of celebrity and the success of Hayden Panettiere's über-hit “Heroes.” The crowd broke into deafening cheers as Panettiere entered and sat right of the center podium with a giggle. A Wizard staffer primed the audience, asking if they enjoyed the first season of “Heroes.” The crowd erupted in the resoundingly affirmative. The staffer then asked if they enjoyed Panettiere's role as Claire Bennett on the show, and the audience roared even louder.
The staffer began by asking about “Heroes,” which Panettiere said she “loved.” She mentioned her independent film, “Fireflies in the Garden” which recently premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. The film also stars Julia Roberts, Ryan Reynold, and William Dafoe. Next Panettiere plugged her upcoming album, which she described as “pop-rock” but also “a mix of different things.”

The floor was then opened to questions, with fans jumping at the chance for face time with the “Heroes” heartthrob. The first question was whether Panettiere and Milo Ventimigla, who plays Peter Petrelli on “Heroes,” have any “off-set chemistry,” which made Panettiere laugh. “I'm sensing some bonus scenes on the DVD,” she joked. “We're all very close. We're a family.”

The next fan asked if Panettiere would star in a Supergirl movie if offered the role. “Would that require a cape?” she asked, before stating, “I'd consider it. Sure.”

Another fan asked if Panettiere had ever actually been a cheerleader. “Once,” she admitted. “When I was very young. I made it to one game. Our football team was horrible. Then that Halloween I dressed as a dead cheerleader. So sort of, but not really.” The crowd laughed, then Panettiere remembered her role in “Bring It On”, for which she had to train as a cheerleader.

On the subject of the cheerleader's uniform, Panettiere threw down the gauntlet. “I told Tim Kring – our producer – I'm done with running around in a cheerleading costume and not cheering,” she said.

The crowd responded to this with a disappointed “awwww!”

“I didn't say I'm done with the cheerleading costume!” Panettiere exclaimed, before smiling and winking at the audience.

Panettiere proved her skills when the crowd challenged to sing a song, although she refused at first. She took suggestions for what she should sing. “Happy Birthday?” she asked with a laugh.

“Free Bird!” one fan shouted.

“What?” she asked, at which point another fan yelled “Free Bird!” again. Panettiere confessed she didn't know what that was.

“Is everyone here American?” she asked, compromising, then sang a stirring rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner.” After the first verse, she yelled to her Mother, who was present, “Don't look at me like that, Mom! You're making me nervous!”

Another fan asked a perennial convention question for Panettiere: if she could have any what super power, what would it be? “Teleportation,” she answered, before the fan even finished asking. “I'd be in Fiji. No offense to any of you. You know what? You can come with me. Anyone want to come to Fiji?”

Panettiere admitted that on “Heroes,” she'd prefer to have Ali Larder's (“Nikki Sanders”) power. “I'm so tired of getting thrown around and beat up,” Panettiere said. “I want to beat someone else up.”

When one fan asked if she would continue to do voice work, Panettiere mentioned that she voiced a role in an upcoming Scooby Doo project.

Perhaps most interesting for “Heroes” fans, Panettiere speculated on the theme of the second season during the panel. “If the first season was ordinary people dealing with extraordinary situations,” she said, “the second is extraordinary people trying to be ordinary again.”

E-online with Kristen has some Heroes scoop. Like new people for next season. I won't post here, since you can look if you want.

Also www.herosite. net has some Season 2 cast calls, some spoilers/hints and lists some characters that are in for next season.

Also tv.squad. com (type in Heroes) has some old and new stuff. Go by date to see what they have talked about the last season.

And again... a new graphic novel should be starting on nbc.com

I never buy tv shows' DVDs. But this is one DVD set I would love to have!

I hope the show does start in the Fall, and they dont make us wait until after the official season has begun!

End of Sept. I am dying!! I think they said 9/24:confused3

Ando has been seen in a McDonald's commercial over the last few weeks. Do you think the fact that he's sort of "slumming it" doing commercials again means we won't see much of him next season?

Roush on Jericho and Heroes:
TV Guide said:
Matt Roush: To punish a show for the way a network schedules it is pure folly in my book. The networks aren't making it easy to be a fan of a show, it's true, but fans aren't making it any easier to keep certain types of shows on the air (those, for instance, that repeat poorly) by having an attitude about the way they're scheduled. The situation here is that the networks are adjusting to a new reality and trying to figure out how to schedule shows like Jericho, Lost, Heroes, etc. They know that there will be long lapses between original episodes if they try to fill the period between September and May, while repeating them to horribly low ratings is less and less an option. Heroes is compensating in its second season by creating a new template (Origins) at mid-season to keep the franchise going between arcs. Lost is adjusting by staying off the air for half a calendar year, 24-style. In retrospect, the long layoff for Jericho was a mistake, but an honest one, because CBS really did believe it was possible to relaunch the show in the winter with new episodes (borrowing from cable's playbook), almost as if it were a second season. It didn't work, but should Jericho get a second wind in the fall, it's inevitably going to endure another long hiatus if it continues beyond that. And it's really up to the viewers to stay loyal regardless of the aggravation the networks put them through.

The Primetime Emmy nominations were announced yesterday and Heroes did very well. Nominations include Outstanding Drama Series AND Masi Oka for Supporting Actor. :woohoo:

The other nominations were technical ones, including art direction, directing, single-camera editing, sound mixing, visual effects, and stunt co-ordination. For all but visual effects, the episode "Genesis" was cited; "Five Years Gone" was the one for visual effects.

Thanks for the info! It would be great if Masi won!
