Official "Heroes" discussion thread - Caution: Speculation and Potential Spoilers

If there's any mercy, Nathan will have been scattered to bits. Also, do any of you think that Peter isn't the biological son of Mama Petrelli? It could have been another one of those "adopt a hero" situations, especially given her absolute lack of concern about him. Also, what's her power? "Super Snob?" :happytv:

What a great ending to a great series! And the best part is that this show is just getting started! Imagine what they'll be able to do with a bigger budget! WOW! Bring on September!!!!!!!!!!!

A few thoughts about last night's finale:

- Peter has Nathan's power, so why couldn't he have just flown up there himself? :confused3 No reason for Nathan to die, and if Peter can regenerate then he wouldn't die either. I think they may have used this to kill Peter off before he became too ridiculously powerful. At the rate he was absorbing powers, he would quickly approach omnipotence.

- Hate that they had Sylar crawling into a manhole. This show has been so good about not copping out with the easy answer, I wanted him to be dead, since a sword completely through the body is pretty much a death sentence.

- Loved, loved, frickin'-LOVED when Bennet looked at Peter and said, "Call me Noah." Great writing on that scene.

- We'll find out next year what Mama Petrelli's power is, and I imagine we'll find out very quickly if both Nathan and Peter are dead. With a volume title like "Generations", ya' gotta figure that all of the ol' timers will be making appearances as their younger selves.

- Heroes has quickly become my favorite show on television...and it ain't even close. :teeth: Can't wait for the DVD's to come out (you'll be able to watch individual storylines, as well as episode by episode, according to one of the producers)! If Lost even comes CLOSE to matching the intensity of last night's Heroes finale, I'll be absolutely shocked.

The show was good last nigth but I must say I was hoping for bigger clash at the end...a real knock down drag out fight to the detah between Sylar and Peter (like a comic book would have).

1. Molly eluded to a guy much worse than Sylar. there is the set-up for next season's big bad, so there was NO need to have Sylar live.

2. Speaking of Sylar, did he turn into a cockroach? There was one sitting on the manhole cover in the bloody trail. Still, he shold be good and dead.

3. No need for Nathan to come along and save Peter. Peter can fly all on his own now, so he should've just zoomed away by himself. A plothgole big enough to drive a school bus through if you ask me.

4. WHY was Peter going supernova? What prompted it, and why didn't he just pass out like the other times he started to get lit? The interaction with Sylar certainly didn't seem like it was bad enough to cause him to blow up.

5. Yay for Nikki finally taking control of her split personality. I dig the female Hulk thing.

6. If Parkman were going to die he would've died at the end of the episode. I think he'll be around next season.

7. SOooooooooo...now that everyone has met will they form a super team next season?

I think Mama Petrelli's power is persuasion. She kept touching Nathan's face when she needed to get him back to her way of thinking. She even tried touching Claire's face before Claire bailed out the window (go Claire!).

I'm with the "Sylar isn't dead" camp. That was way too easy and I wanted to see a body being carted away (although that wouldn't have proved anything either).

So Bennet has a first name after all. If it really is his name.

And I'm still wondering about Mama Petrelli's power. I've noticed that she always seems to know everything that's happening everywhere...

Anyone know if they'll be releasing the online comics in graphic novel format?

Oh, and let's not forget "Shaft"!! Apparently he can see invisible people and he knew about the bomb long before Peter knew he had any powers.

It is a very interesting theory about Hiro's dad being Kensei. What if it was Hiro himself??? By the way, does anyone know when the second season starts?? I am going though serious withdrawals.:happytv:

The next season will start mid Sept - early Oct. If they run them more back to back, they will start later in the fall.

The DVD's will be released Aug. 28th. Of course you can pre-order now.

Syler isn't dead. The cockroach was to remind you how he lived last time. Though I am not sure the sewer is the best place for an injuried man to heal.

I believe that, just like Hiro, Peter will drop out of the sky, somewhere. I believe that Nathan will return also.

But does Molly stay with Mohinder, or go with DL & Niki? Will DL be healed? They did say someone would die in the last episode, but didn't say they would stay dead!

Anyoen get on the live blog with Tim Kring after the show?

I agree....DD and I were talking about something similiar.:thumbsup2

Well, I wasn't expecting it to end like THAT! Not that I thought they wouldn't be able to change the future, but I didn't expect what happened to Peter. Simone's dad reminded him that all he needed was love, and Peter learned that he needed to remember his emotions to focus on his powers. The strongest connection Peter had was to Nathan and to Claire. When Claire showed up, I thought he would manage to focus and bring his power under control. I once heard that the opposite of love is fear. The inability to control certain powers made Peter afraid, and unfortunately that overrode other emotions.

I still think Peter could only use one power at a time, which is why he didn't fly on his own. To fly, he would have had to bring the radioactive power under control, and if he had done that, he wouldn't have needed to fly away.

Yeah, I know I keep talking about Peter in the past tense. Part of me thinks that he'll be back; another part of me hopes the show will be a little more realistic than that and that dead is dead. With all of his powers, though, it's possible he could be back. I don't think we know the full extent of Claire's regeneration. What would be interesting is if he did regenerate back to life but lost all but his original power.

I guess I was kind of underwhelmed by the season finale. They built up so much over the course of the season that it would be hard for the finale to match the intensity. I can't wait for what Volume II brings to the table in the Fall..

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I was expecting much more, and like someone else said, it was so unbelievable that no one noticed Sylar's trip down the manhole cover and that no one made sure Sylar was really dead. Knowing how Peter and Claire can heal, wouldn't someone realize that Sylar might possibly have a similar power?

If I were there, I'd have made sure his body was in several parts and they were placed really far away from each other. ;)

Yeah, it was like in a horror movie when they "kill" the boogie man and then drop the gun next to the body.

I thought Sylar morphed himself into a liquid, hence the blood on hte ground and then slithered into the manhole. I figured that's why we (or anyone else)didn't see it happen.

RU Disney and others who want spoilers, there are some on TVGuide.com under Heroes. Also comic book resources had some great discussions with the writers. No spoilers there!

Tim Kring & Greg Beeman did say someone in the last show dies, we just have to wait and see who in Sept. Also that the Vol 2 may not go past half season, but there are 30 episodes with the Origin ones slated for next season!

so specualtion on who lives and who dies of Peter, Nathan, Candance, Parkman, Sylar & DL?

And if you read the graphic novels...how cool is that?
