Official "Heroes" discussion thread - Caution: Speculation and Potential Spoilers

Okay. I just re-watched last nights episode.

So, after Peter is forced to snatch that ladies purse, he reveals that Claude has had 15 years to get familiar with his power. That, for me, brings up the question, why did our heroes powers only manifest themselves 6 months ago? Was the solar eclipse the trigger? And if so, how has Claude had his powers for so long and what triggered them?

BTW, It looked to me like HRG driver's license only had his last name on it. It just said Bennet. He even signed it as just Bennet.

Very, very good!! Didn't you hear HRG's comment after Issac call's him about Peter?

No telling what the trigger is, no telling how long they have had them. It may just be something that they notice as the grow.

Wondering about something Claire's mom said. I don't get to tape it so if ya'll wouldn't mind filling me in. It was about the hole in the roof during the fire. Where did she see it from? And do you think Nathan was still around then? during the fire I mean?

i was talking about that with DH2B earlier. considering HRG said "it seems like an old friend isn't quite as dead as we thought he was" i'm thinking that there were heroes a while ago also, but something must have happened and they drastically went down in numbers.

and also, Clarie's mom probably started the fire, and that was about 18(i think Claire went to her prom this year, so she's probably 18) years ago, and Nathan didn't sound too surprised to hear about it, so i'm betting he knew about his power also.

what i'm thinking is neither of them, nor the invisible guy(sorry, don't know his name yet) really told anyone or made it noticable. they're probably the few that are left from "before". because now we're seeing Peter, Issac, Nikki, and Hiro pretty much just beginning to figure out how their abilities work.

which is another question in itself......did they ALWAYS have these abilities?? or did they just start getting them?? because i think Claire made a comment before to either her mother or father about "i've never been sick" which could mean that she has had the ability all her life, but is just now realizing the extent of it.

and i'm not so sure that Nikki has an ability, either. i'm thinking that "Jessica" might have actually had the ability. but that one kinda confuses me to really think about.

and now that i've racked my brain i'm exhausted and need to stop typing about this lol.

I am wondering about this myself. If it is genetic, then it could have been around since the beginning of man, as Mohinder keeps talking about evoloution! It just maybe more and more people as the worlds population grows and the gene pool is mixed.

I wonder if both parents need to have powers for the child to have powers. Look at Claire and DL and Nikki's son

But that would mean that Nathan and Peter's mom needed it too. And not sure she has a power? Or does she?

And HIro's dad? his Sister? Their mom?

Like my son's genetic condition, he got itfrom his dad, his brother didn't. 50/50 chance of passing it, 50/50 chance of the one that don't have it carrying it.

The fire was 14 years ago, Claire was 18 months old. Claire surviving the fire tells us she has had her abilities since birth.

Nathan being aware of his power for years, it makes sense that when Peter started getting excited about being able to fly, Nathan tried to discourage him.

Yeah but if Nathan "discovered" his powers during the car accident...? Or maybe mind wiped or repressed them between his "fling" with Merdith and his marriage? ACK!!

Not HRG's boss, but plays an associate of! I do knw what part he plays and it is interesting!! I also know who was hired as Linderman though!! I know, so bad of me!! found out by accident.

Anyone know if Sulu will be back? I think it is a yes, but probably next season

Has anyone been to the Primatech Paper Company's website and played around? I started messing around with it when they showed the website on an episode a couple weeks ago (www.primatechpaper.com). If you "apply" for a position, you'll get on their mailing list. It looks like this is going to be a bit like the "Lost Experience" that Lost did over the summer.

If you haven't seen the site, I highly recommend you check it out. Not really "spolier" material, but it does introduce some new characters.

that doesn't seem to make sense tho, does it?? isn't she almost out of high school?? so she'd be closer to 18 than to 15 or 16

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if the "14 years ago" was just a continuity screw-up on the part of the writers. Much as I love the show, this wouldn't be anywhere near the first time that has happened.

I was confused, too- I was under the impression that Claire was close to 18 as well. Then, during the 1/29 episode (toward the end where she and her dad are talking and he sees the windchime in her window), she told her dad that she was "almost 16"- so now I'm not sure what to believe.

Claire's my space page still says she is 18. Somewhere they are saying she is 15 now. I guess that is to fit in with Nathan's age, but not sure. Will look for the age thing again.

www.myspace.com then type Claire Bennett in the search. To get more than the first page, you will need to create site name for yourself. You don't have to do anything more to view.

They also have pages for other heroes & a herro page. Just type in the info in the seach to find who you are looking for!
