Official "Heroes" discussion thread - Caution: Speculation and Potential Spoilers

In relation to the Peter choosing good vs evil...since he's gaining all these powers, I think he will ultimately choose good and by the end of the entire series, it will be show down between Peter and Sylar. The ultimate good versus evil. Even if they stop the explosion in NYC, there will be other problems. They all have to figure out how they are connected, and it seems in some way or another, they are ALL connected by more than just their powers.
I was shocked by Simones death.

Do you really see Sylar continuing through out the series? See I was hoping he would be a force to be reckoned with this season with a new foe next year.

Why not. He seems to get what he has been in contact with and that would include Claire would it not? In fact didn't he already heal himself?

the power we are discussing is the power to heal others...we already know he can heal himself

It's interesting to me that Peter basically is the natural equivalent of Sylar. At first I thought he had to be in close proximity to the person in order to absorb and imitate their powers, and now it looks like once he knows how to do it, it's his. So he can do naturally what Sylar has to actually get into the brain to do.

And now Peter seems to be wrestling with the dark side...

Okay, I've been a bit busy lately, but it's good to see this thread still going. :thumbsup2

I just finished watching Monday's episode on NBC's website (darned work schedule for Monday night with only one DVD recorder and 24 on the same time grrrrrr).

Very cool seeing Stan Lee make a cameo like that! I think he's made a cameo in every movie based on a Marvel comic in the past few years, so this was a natural. I saw his name in the opening credits and wondered where he might show up. I wonder if any other comics pros will make appearances.

Peter as hero or villain? Hmmm ... it could be interesting, but what would make him suddenly turn? A sudden longing for power? Power corrupting and driving him mad? Peter seems too altruistic to suddenly become a bad guy. True, like Syler he can draw on a number of abilities, but I wonder if either of them can use more than one power at once. For example, can Peter fly while invisible? Monday's ep wasn't clear on that. On the rooftop, HRG and the Haitian were using infrared sights to find Peter and Claude, who I'm guessing were invisible but visible for us to see. Did Peter become visible when he stopped the taser darts? Not sure. HRG and the Haitian still wore the sights but maybe he did become visible and they didn't realize. They definitely saw Peter fly away without them, though. Maybe a one-at-a-time limitation would be a good way to keep Peter from being too powerful.

On the other hand, a good guy turning bad a la Phoenix/Dark Phoenix in the X-Men, if done right, would be a great storyline.

Can't wait for answers about HRG next week.

Oh, and did anyone else catch Nathan's "lab on a deserted island" comment? A little reference to Lost, maybe? ;)

I find myself saying, "Holy (expletive deleted)!!!" quite a bit during this show, and last night wasn't much different. When Sylar killed the super-ear mechanic chick, DW said, "Well, now we know who flies and who dies." I told her there was no way this show would cop out like that. When they say someone will die, they don't mean some peripheral character you've never seen before.

Actually, I think Simone's death is going to be the pivotal moment for Peter's future. He was edging dangerously towards being a bad guy - and a kick-butt bad guy at that - during the fight with Mystery Sock (er...Isaac). With her death, he'll either slip further in that direction, or it will shock him into straightening up.

Can't bloody WAIT for next Monday!!!

This show is seperating lots of Heros from thier support systems. Claire from everything in Texas, Peter from Claude & Simone, Hiro from Ando. (Think Ando is out for good? I sure hope not!!)

Company man should rock on Monday, but not sure we will see much but the Bennet house and Bennet past.

And I am not sure Simone is dead yet, but sure she will be dead soon, in the next few episodes.

I wasn't expecting that at the end...what I was expecting was Peter to Kill Isaac...Sylar style...the way Hiro found him in that epsisode in the begining.

Well we know where the gun that Hiro picked up in the 1st episode came from. But I wonder if Issac could touch it again after what he did to Simone

I thought Simone was very pretty.

I don't know rev, I think Peter and Hiro are in it for at least a few seasons. Peter is kind of the conscience of the show.

On top of that, from the subway scene, Hiro is/was just a few years in the future and he knew Peter, so they meet and stay together for a bit.

i was NOT expecting that ending last night!! so, who are they gonna blame? if Peter wasn't playing "now you see me, now you don't" Issac wouldn't have shot in every direction. but if Issac didn't want to shoot Peter, then nothing would have happened. oh i'm so confused.

oh well, maybe now they'll put me on the show and those two can fight over me! :woohoo:

poor Claire. i really feel bad for her. i'm glad she stood up to HRG tho. i just hope he doesn't try to do anything stupid and try and erase her memory again.

On Claire, not sure the Haitian is around. If not, Matt can have a field day with HRG!

On Peter and his dream...it originally had Simone with Issac pulling her away. The first version of it didn't show Claude (due to work permit issues) but then the 2nd more detailed one did. So how accurate can it be if Simone is/will no longer be around? How does that change things?

I foresee Peter and Sylar meeting once if not more this season. But Sylar is only this season if whtt Tim Kring said in the begining interviews. Season 2 has a new "foe" or whatever for them to fight against. Also a bunch of new heroes to meet. And, as fast as they are killing heroes off, at least 2 more this season, who knows who will be part of next season except Mohinder, Jessica/Niki, Peter & Hiro:confused3

PS: this is based on Mohinder TV interview where he said he was in 2nd season due to this story being told by him, the whomevers love for J/N and her storyline and Peter & Hiro on the subway.

when Claire and her father were at the hospital and they were yelling at He grabbed her, I expected her to kick or something.. :rotfl:

funny how the hospital staff were all watching and yet no one ever came over or said anything to them or even asked if everthing was ok.. He had her pinned to the wall by her arms.. ouch.. :sad2:

i'm excited to see Monday's episode.. I would like to see if Samone died or not.. Peter can heal himself, too bad he can't heals others.. :guilty:

Since Peter's ability is to "absorb" other Heroes powers, what would happen if he ever came into contact with Niki/Jessica??? Would we end up with a good Peter and a bad Peter? Can you imagine a bad Peter with all the abilities he has managed to absorb at this point? He would be practically indestructible.

So, I am trying to compile a list of powers that both Sylar and Peter have managed to absorb. Here is what I have so far:

Sylar

liquefy objects - courtesy of Zane Taylor
super hearing - c/o Dale Smither
telekinesis - c/o Brian Davis
super memory - c/o Charlie
ability to freeze - c/o unknown

Peter

ability to fly - courtesy of Nathan
invisibilty - c/o Claude
heal himself - c/o Claire
abiltiy to paint the future - c/o Isaac
telekinesis - c/o Sylar
super hearing - c/o Matt Parkman
plus whatever abilities he absorbed from Sylar that we are unaware of

Heroes that Peter has had contact with but is not known if he absorbed their power:

The Haitian
Future Hiro

Let me know if you can think of others.

I'm also still wondering if the ability to heal will be shown to work on others (as logn as the two people are physically touching). Some other powers sure seem to work that way.

We'll know for sure soon.
