Official "Heroes" discussion thread - Caution: Speculation and Potential Spoilers

Can't wait for tonight's show....saw the Heroes marathon last night and it helped clear up a few things for me...it was good to see those three episodes again...amazing how much more you gain from seeing them again!!!

Hope a lot of new viewers who did not see any episodes yet tuned to see three of them and hopefully got hooked as much as the rest of us!!!

I read in our local paper that Heroes has the same percentage of fan base as LOST had in the beginning. They listed the top three new shows of the season on all three networks and Heroes was NBC's....

It also said with so many serialized dramas out there now, fans were only tuning into the ones they really wanted to see since to watch all of the new shows this season would take way too much of anyone's time.

I'm going to see this tonight for the first time. My boyfriend told me that he wants to watch it with me (I guess he watched the marathon yesterday and said it was good. I, however, didn't see it). He's coming over tonight so we can watch it together. Will I be lost, having never seen it before?

There's a "Heroes Exclusive" in this week's TV Guide, too. Nothing special, though, IMO. Just a 2-page article that doesn't really explain much. But if anyone is interested, it's there.

I think there was also something that this Thursday night on the TV Guide Channel, there will be something about "Behind the Scenes of Heroes." Maybe around 8-ish?

I thought this was of some interest...from Ep #2. It calls the "father" of Claire evil....hmmmm....

And Claire continues to hide the truth about her, until her father, the evil man looking for our "heroes", sees her tape where she shows her abilities.

Nothing much to add here. I just discovered this thread (who knew there were non-Disney related discussions on the DIS!?!), and read the 14 pages to get caught up. I am completely hooked on the show. I'm not a huge Sci-Fi fan, but this show was really intriguing to me. I am anxiously waiting for tonight's episode. Just a few random thoughts...

• Shows like this are difficult for me, because I am horrible at remembering names. The only name I can consistently remember is Mohinder, because it is so unique.

• After the frozen subway scene last week, I realized that Hiro is going to be one of the coolest characters on TV. He's going to transform himself from geeky comic fan to ultra-hip samurai. I think he'll be the one who somehow saves the world since he has the best grip on how to best use his powers.

• Also, as far as Hiro’s lack of accent on the subway, here is one possibility. He has had a lot of problems so far communicating because he cannot speak English. Since he has the ability to bend space and time, maybe he went back in time to learn perfect English so he can better communicate with the other heroes. This could also explain why he doesn’t look any older on the subway, even though it would take years to learn perfect English.

• From the first time I saw Mohinder's neighbor, I was convinced that she's somehow working for Sylar or Claire's dad.

• I wonder why Niki has to have a mirror present to turn into her alter-ego. It seems like she had to see her reflection in the elevator door before she went psycho. Unless that is just the show's way to let us know that she is ready to "transform".

My only regret about the show is that I thought that Nikki had a doppelganger, as opposed to just a sleeping psyche. There was a comic book about that, one of Larry Lieber's Atlas group, I believe. (And that should establish my credits as an old-time comic book geek, who remembers Marvel's New Universe, not to mention almost everything before about 1995.)

Okay, this show is getting better and better.

I so loved Hiro tonight, present Hiro, future Hiro...it's all good! I loved Hiro and Nathan's meeting (and Natha's COOL show of his power). I also liked Ando meeting Niki. Poor Matt (the cop, not the mod here) trying so hard with his wife but a crowd of people can take him down and arouse her suspicions... Not sure how I feel about the mind wipe of Brody.

And, anyone else recognize Niki's husband & Micah's dad as scary bald guy working with Mr. Bennett?

One other thing I need to comment on, I really dig the "save the cheerleader, Save the world" line. Reminds me of the Jewish ?proverb? of (paraphrase) "If you save one life, you save the world".

I think him and Niki may start working things out again. I think he is also a hero.

Yep, he's an "ability sponge". I was expecting him to bend time/space tonight after his meeting with Future Hiro though....Maybe next week?

I still can't tell if they are the same person. I do know that Micah's dad was on Buffy the Vampire Slayer(which I loved). And I don't recognize Bennett's sidekick as the same guy. He definitely was recognizable as Niki's ex. I guess I will need to watch the episode again.

Niki's ex has a fuller face and bigger nose. Mr. Bennett's partner's face is more sucked in with an alien type shape, he's also darker than Niki's ex. Def not the same.
