*****Official February 2015 Thread! Come check in and chat!*****

Just found out (when making reservations) Big Thunder Ranch BBQ will be closed from 3/2-3/5-just FYI. Most of our Feb Disers will be gone by then, but I know they're a few staying during that time. I was able to sneak in our resie on Sunday 3/1 prior to closure. :rockband:

So far this Mouse for Less calendar's predictions continue to surface/come true (as far as time frames etc) on the Disneyland calendar. Railroad is showing available again starting 2/13 on Disneyland calendar.

I heard that they basically close all of Critter Country when Splash needs to go down....just to save money. That makes me so angry.

I'm not sure that is the reason (at least in the past)....2 trips ago we went (during spring break) and Splash was down still, but Winnie the Pooh was open. Hoping Winnie the pooh refurb changes for this year on the calendar, we do enjoy that ride. ;)

I have also been there when Splash is down and the rest of CC is open. Splash tends to go down every Jan/Feb, which I think (along withe the GRR closure that happens almost every year) it is cost saving. But, if they also wanted to refurb Pooh and the whole area, it makes sense just to shut it all down at once and likely rope off past Haunted Mansion. I am guessing they aren't rushing on the Pooh/ CC refurb since Splash is down anyway, but hopefully they are shutting them down for a reason!

I just figured out that all of Condor Flats is closed as well. It is easy to block off CC, but I wonder if this area will be closed as a walk through, or if just everything in the area will be closed. It makes for longer walking from GCH if we can't go through there. But, since it is better to go in the front gates in the AM and for EE anyway, I guess it isn't the end of the world!

Interesting! It seems to be closed starting 2/9 as well. I wonder if they are closing during the weekdays for a while?

Condor Flatts is getting a whole outside of each billing remain at model so that is why that is all closed at the same time so they can receive it.

Critter country has never been all closed before. For the 60they are redoing all of the dark rides to update them. It just happens to be Winnie the Pooh's time

So...the water at California Adventure will be drained while World of Color is down, right? We were there one other time it was drained. Unfortunately, it's pretty ugly.

January 2009

My first trip to California Adventure was in February 2009 and this is what it looked like too. Slightly disappointing. We did go in 2012 when it was full and not under construction. Really hoping they don't drain it this time! (Especially if they tarp the castle - no water at CA and no castle in DL? How sad!)

I've been when Pooh, SM, the restaurant and the pooh snack store were closed. You could walk back there but nothing was open. Is there anything left in Pooh Country?

I hope there will be some place in the park for my son to meet Winnie the Pooh or I will be very disappointed.

I had heard the water would be drained during the WOC refurb.

I've been there when the water was drained like the picture above. The last time I was there the construction was still going on in Carsland and the tarps and boards everywhere wasn't pretty either. I just keep telling myself that whatever they are working on this trip, will be something new for the next trip. Disney being open 365 days a year is bound to have to close things down at some time or another. Clarasworld, looks like we'll be there at the same time as each other :)

Pooh was at the Minnie breakfast at the Plaza Inn when we went. So was Tigger.

I've just made all my dining reservations for our trip (22/2-3/3). We're doing Goofy's Kitchen for dinner, Minnie & Friends for breakfast, Blue Bayou for Fantasmic and Big Thunder Ranch BBQ for dinner (closed Monday-Friday but open weekends FYI).

Oooh that sounds awesome! I hope we all remember to come back and report on our trips! I will dine vicariously through you!

Haha.....I'll make sure I take lots of photos. I've never done a trip report before but I'd love to have a go and share our experiences.

We aren't doing any character meals so I am hoping we'll be able to find him somewhere else. If not...oh well. My son may be freaked out by him anyway...who knows.

I love trip reports. I have a blog where I wrote/posted pictures from our Disneyland 2009 and 2010 trips. As well as our WDW 2010 and 2012 trips.

Tigger is my husbands fave and we had a bad experience at Minnie's, so we plan to ask at City Hall if he will be out somewhere.

I had emailed Disney to see if I could find out some more info on if, when etc the sleeping beauty castle might be under refurbishment & they did email me back. This is what they said:

:sad2:

"Our Sleeping Beauty Castle will go under refurbishment beginning January 19th & will return March 3rd".

I had asked if the walk through would be open or if the castle would be covered, but they did not answer that part or give specifics.

Thanks for emailing and letting us know. I have to admit I'm nervous now. My husband wants to cancel and reschedule our trip if the castle is covered.
