*****Official February 2015 Thread! Come check in and chat!*****

Where did you reserve it from?

I considered this but decided I wanted a stroller in the airports.

Looks like this may be our last visit to Toon Town. SO LAME. We finally have a child and I was excited that over the years, he'd be able to enjoy things in Toon Town (he's still a bit young for most of it.)

But now...it's going to get bulldozed in favor of (CRAPPY) Star Wars. Blech.

Not happy.

I think your little one is a great age for TT, at least most of it. There are only two rides there, Roger Rabbit and Gadget's Go Coaster. The rest of the attractions are walk-throughs of Mickey's House, Minnie's House, Chip & Dale's Treehouse, Donald's Boat and Goofy's Playhouse. Goofy's is specifically for the under 5's!

I'm personally thrilled to see TT replaced, although it is arguably the best themed land in DL. (Cars Land is far better IMO but that's in DCA!) I would be a very happy woman if I never had to go on RR ever again. DL and DCA have a fair amount for the under 5's but I think that Star Wars land would be a great draw for the older kids and adults.

I was actually talking to my husband about this a little while ago and my one question is about the fireworks. TT closes early for the fireworks and I wonder how that early closure would effect Star Wars Land as an area that I would think would be a big nighttime draw.

Where did you see about Toon Town? I know this has been rumored for about a year, but is it confirmed now? Thanks!

I saw an option to add a pack and play too. We used them last trip and it was super smooth and easy. We drive though so with the age of your LO, I think I'd want a stroller at the airport too.

Driving would make packing so much easier. We have driven to and from CA a few times and loved it. I hope to do it again some day. Of course, by then...we'll be done with strollers.

I actually looked at the link, and the rental for the amount of days is actually more than our stroller cost us...haha!

I hope we don't hate it. So far, we've only used it around the neighborhood and whatnot.

I've never had a strong opinion about Toon Town. But now that I have a child, I will be sad to see it go. He probably won't be tall enough to ride Gadget's on our trip. Boo. We will walk through the houses and whatnot though.

I've only seen one Star Wars movie and I'm just 'eh' about it. My husband isn't big into it either. So a Star Wars land just doesn't appeal to us. (But if it keeps people out of the lines for other rides, it's a good thing, I guess...haha!)

I think it's still a rumor. But it's looking more and more probable.

I wish they'd release the refurb calendar for February. I hope Alice isn't closed. And I REALLY hope Pooh is open since my son loves his stuffed Winnie the Pooh so much.

I think that looks good. We need a double and our double is terrible. Really I hate it and am glad we are done with it. It is such a pain to fold. It has been in the car maybe 4 times in the 2.5 years we have owned it. I am getting ready to sell it and am dreading showing people how to fold it. Luckily my older child likes to walk! I think he would really be okay in DL with no stroller, but I know if we just brought our single for my daughter, they will squabble over it when tired, so renting the double it is!

How old are both of your kids?

I am not sure when we'll make it back to Disneyland after this. We do hope to have another child though. But I am kind of hoping by the time we make it back, our son will be out of a stroller so we wouldn't need a double. But who knows.

My husband, 7 year old son and I will be at GCV from Jan 31-feb 8, though we will be getting to the area a couple days earlier to see the Blackhawks play the Ducks. I still need to figure out a hotel for Jan 29-31.

Crossing my fingers, could be a sign of good news. Just looked online at the "daily entertainment schedule" on disneylands website. Its partially out until 1/13/14. Peter Pans fight is not on refurb list! :goodvibes. It was rumored to be on refurb starting Jan 12th. So maybe it won't be on refurb list after all.

As far as the stroller topic, my kiddo are out of strollers now, but when we went our past 2 trips. We rented right at Disneyland & they gave us 1/2 off for having a Disney Visa each day's rental charge--loved it. If someone takes your stroller just show your receipt & they give you another.

Just booked today at Park Vue for 2/15 - 2/19, first time there but hopeful! We usually get hopper tickets from our credit union at a discount and we will be driving down from Central CA. If Small World is closed I will probably have to cancel as it was down last year and DH was livid! Hoping Pooh is not down as we rode that about 5 times in a row last year!

Its wait and see right now...heres a link that gives projected refurbs & dates....however until it posts to disneylands page...its not confirmed. Lots of rumors (some of which I hope don't come true)

I am hoping Peter Pans flight is running. Up up & away! :tink:
Little disappointed about World of Color too-LOVE but its a trade off for coming in off season...hopefully lower crowds make up for any closures---here's hoping.:smickey:

This just wasn't an option for us. We're staying across the street and we really want a stroller to go back and forth.

Those are the two I'd be most sad about too. Mainly because I think our son will love them.

The Star Wars Land rumor has been going on for years (three that I clearly remember)... First it was "Marvel Land," and then when Disney acquired Star Wars, the rumor switched to that almost instantly. First, Tomorrow Land was on the chopping block. Then only Autopia, then Innoventions, and now Toon Town. Oh, and the 3rd park--there's a 3rd park in the works, all Marvel, according to the above-linked site. I can't keep track of all the other "it's happening in 2015!" (or whatever reasonable timeframe), and then things fizzle out. Quite honestly, I think they have people there who say, "Maybe a land dedicated to Star Wars would be a big hit..." and they post it as a "credible source said Star Wars Land is set to happen in x months/years!"

They may be right sometimes, but it seems more often than not, they are fanciful ideas spoken with presumed authority, but (adult) children's daydreams all the same. Just my two cents, from watching these threads pop up every few months!

Like you, I'm looking forward to hearing that refurb schedule! It's not going to change anything for me--I don't have my heart set on riding anything specific--but it's still nice to be able to plan it out!

I think the rumor is gaining some steam because of the new Star Wars movie (I think that's a 'thing' right? I haven't been keeping track since Star Wars isn't my thing.)

If it were just me and my husband, I really wouldn't care about many refurbs since we typically go in the 'off season' anyway, it's nothing new to us. But it's our son's first trip and most likely it will be a few years before we make it back. So I'm really crossing my fingers on a few things.

Welcome to both of you! I've added your dates and hotels to the list on the first post!

Yay for February. My husband and I are going for part of our honeymoon February 18-23 at the HOJO and one night at the DLH. So excited can't wait to be at Disney. We booked a killer deal on jet blue for the hotel and plane from boston around $600 each not including the DLH stay.
