*****Official February 2015 Thread! Come check in and chat!*****

lets hope it isn't a "holiday? what holiday? you never said you wanted a holiday" reaction from him

It's our honeymoon. The first plan was to elope 2/9 and hop on plane that day and stay thru 2/15. Well, plane & stay dates have remained the same, but we may end up eloping next month.

Depending on where you want to stay, you might want to nudge him to book the hotel soon!

I think he's decided to stay at DLH. I know we want to stay onsite. I guess I should ask tonight if he has made reservations.

That's where DH and I stayed on our honeymoon!
Awesome!! Did y'all like it?? When we go to WDW, we stay at Wilderness Lodge so he originally wanted to stay at GC, but I had told him about DLH's refurb & firework headboards so I really hope he books that. That was my vote, anyways.

We got married in 1999 so this was before the refurb but we did stay at the DLH after (well, actually during) the refurb and we stayed in an amazing suite!

The headboard is exactly as awesome as you could imagine and I have to admit, it was a tough pick this trip between going back to the DLH or trying th GCH! The only reasons I went with GCH is that we've never stayed there and the rate is usually much higher than I am willing pay.

We actually did not start out at the DLH, we were at a terrible motel that thankfully no longer exists! Back when we got married, DH was in the middle of his officer training course with the Navy and I was earning minimum wage, so we tried to do the honeymoon on the cheap.

The morning after our first night there, DH turned to me at the Space Mountain exit and asked me how I thought I should be treated on my honeymoon. Just joking, I replied "spoiled rotten and treated like a princess!" He told me to wait right there and he ran off and left me there for at least 15 minutes. When he came back he told me we were going back to the motel, packing up and moving to the DLH. It was an amazing honeymoon, although to this day I have never asked him how much the room (with concierge service!) cost. There are just some things you don't want to know.

I'm trying to remember what my son loved at that age...not much in the way of tv or movies but I think he watched the Curious George movie a lot! And Dora the Explorer...he was SO into Dora for so many years that I almost lost my mind!

We finally tried BTRBBQ this past August and to be honest, none of us were all that impressed but then again, we are not huge eaters so it seemed like it cost a lot for what we ate. I know that there are lots of people who rave about it.

I'm the total opposite to you, I would like nothing more than to have it HOT when we are there, at least hot by Victoria February standards that is. I'd be thrilled if I can wear shorts and either tank tops or t-shirts the whole time but I think it more likely to be shorts during the day and jeans at night. Victoria weather in February is between 3 and 8 degrees C so for me, the hotter the better!

Our average temp here in February is high of 37 and low of 17. (So basically -8C to 2c.) I love, love LOVE cold weather. I mean, I don't necessarily want 35 degrees at Disneyland. But I would prefer it stay under 70 degrees.

I wonder if you can go to Big Thunder BBQ and just order dessert.

I too love cold weather. We'll be escaping the Australian summer (around 104 degrees Fahrenheit) so it better be cold!! Or at least jeans and Tshirt weather.

I wanted to try Big Thunder BBQ but I'm not sure now. The desserts look amazing though and I really want to try!

I haven't done anything but make touring plans lol

I'm waiting on ticket deal from southwest and then I like to book tickets and hotel on the same day.

We've decided to do
Big thunder ranch bbq too and Minnie and friends at plaza inn not sure about anything else yet.

Navy folk!! My son is a sailor! He'll actually be home next week. He just graduated A school in Pensacola. He'll be stationed in Japan, but I'll have him home with me until December 3rd.

Yeah, I can't decide which dessert I'd want. Probably the smores.

Hot weather makes me sad. We've had two super hot Disneyland trips. (Well, and all the times we went when we lived out there.) Our last trip was late September 2010 and it was over 100 degrees. We went that time of year because I love Fall decorations but it didn't feel very Fall-ish at all, unfortunately.

Here's what the reading on our car said one day...

Where are you planning on staying?

I normally don't book things until a month or two in advance. But this time we booked super early to get a good price on a hotel. It's free to cancel up to a couple days before at the hotel we picked so we figured why not.

This was our entrance to our reception, it was all very dignified until the officer at the end on my right smacked me on the rear as I passed by him! :rotfl:

DH has been out of the forces for quite a while now but I hold a very special place in my heart for anyone who serves their country.

Cold weather makes me grumpy! I'm Canadian and lived in Ottawa for 20 years where winter temps hover around -20 before you factor in windchill and I hated it! I now live on the west coast where snow is a rarity and windchill is unknown although rain is plentiful!

I'm not sure about ordering just the desserts at BTRBBQ, I've never heard of someone doing just that. The food was okay at the BBQ, it was just a lot more food than we would eat, none of us eat a lot in a sitting, we are more snackers than anything else so for us the value was pretty bad.

We too are coming from Australia, but i don't want it to be to cold over there. I hate the cold, if it can be nice and sunny each day, but not blazing hot, a nice 20 - 22 C would be great.

What are your dates, see if we are the same time or if you can still have your cold weather and i can have my nice sunny warm weather

Haha I'm sure I'll be getting the warmer weather as we will be there 22nd February to 3rd March. I see you'll be there early Feb. Last time I went in Dec/Jan and it wasn't very cold so I don't expect it to be cold in late Feb. I'm happy with low 20s. I just don't want to be grumpy because of heat.

Phew, that is alright then..lol..we are just north of the ACT, so we freeze in winter and roast in summer. I live for summer temps, so don't want it cold over there, I earn my warm temps by suffering through winter...lol

That's a great pic! My son has talked of making a career out of it, but he's still fresh & new to it so we'll see. He's excited about going to Japan so he can visit Tokyo Disney. My 17 year old son is green with envy for all of his future travels so now he's talking about joining!

I sweat to death in anything over 68 degrees (20 C.) I will be there in early February. I remember in 2006 when we lived there and my mom came out to visit, it was really cold. She had to borrow one of my thicker coats. She was coming from the Midwest and didn't think it would be as cold as it was in the parks. In the photos, at night, we're wearing scarves and hats and big coats. It was lovely. During the day, it was jeans and t-shirts/sweatshirts.

Following along. We're not officially going yet but leaning that way. I happen to have two weeks off in February from work and am trying to talk my DH into going down to DL for a few day.

I've priced out the hotel and found a pretty good deal that includes breakfast. Wish I could find a deal for the tickets. We're looking at rough 2/19-21 or 22nd.

We went on a Disney cruise this past September and it awoken our love for all things Disney. It also got us hooked on pins lol. We haven't been to Disneyland together since 2003 and I haven't been since 2009 so long over due.

Any advice for deals or must dos? Were lookig to do this on the cheap so probably not do any dining in the park. But if we do decide to do one where is everyone's favorite? Thanks!
