*****Official February 2015 Thread! Come check in and chat!*****

Mickeys fun wheel of death. Those swinging cars are awful!

I can't handle the teacups anymore so I'm the mom picture taker!

Ditto for both! A couple of trips ago my son wanted to go on one of the swinging cars so badly but no one in our group (DH, DD and inlaws) would go with him. I was actually upset that DH wouldn't go so I said "FINE, I'll go with him!".....acting all tough. OMG, NEVER AGAIN!!! I couldn't wait to get off that stupid ride! lol DH basically said, "why do you think I wouldn't go". Point taken.

Well...someone posted a thread about Orbitz having a 20% off sale that ends tomorrow so I decided to check it out. I could not see the 20% off but I did find a 10% off code for PP, DLH and GCH so we might just be changing from DI&S to the Grand. A room there for $267/night might just be too good to pass up.

We booked GCH this past weekend for cheaper than is showing on Orbitz right now but can't find any $267/night rates :( We booked $298 for the weeknights and $420 & $477 for Friday and Saturday. We just booked it as a room, instead of a package in case the prices drop again. I was just happy to get the majority of the nights for less than $300! :yay: We were going to stay at PP, which we've stayed in a couple of times now but GCH is my dream Disney property and I am beyond excited to stay there!

Anyone heard anything about any ticket discounts yet??

Nope, nothing. When we booked our room this past weekend I asked the CM if they did the discounted tickets (i.e. buy 3 days, get 5) and he said no, they haven't done that in at least a couple of years. He also added that he doesn't believe that it will happen this year either.

I honestly have no idea if they've done in the past couple of years because I haven't been paying attention for this time of the year. I do know that way back in 2006, it was a normal discount for mid-January until I believe March because we've purchased them. I'm not holding my breath this time though but will definitely be keeping my eyes on this thread and the Disney site!

It might just be the dates we are going? The non-discounted rate on Orbitz when I booked was $297.76 but they are running a special 10% discount which brought the daily down to $267.84/night. We are also staying Sunday - Friday so we did not have to deal with the much higher Friday and Saturday night rates.

If you search on orbitz again, try using the code Hotel10 and see if that gets you a lower rate.

I am also beyond excited about staying at GCH, DH and I stayed at the DLH back in 1999 for our honeymoon and we took DS there on his first visit in 2011 but after that we have always stayed at a motel on Harbor Blvd. My logic is that I would rather stay there and go twice a year than stay at the DLR and only go once a year! But, this deal was too good to pass up, although I did tell DH that I was canceling our plans to go to Vancouver next weekend!

I am most excited about being able to go to Napa Rose and eat at the Chef's Counter with DH while DS goes to Pinocchio's Workshop. We are a bit of a foodie family and while I know that DS would enjoy eating there one day, i don't think he is quite ready yet.

I'm considering a Feb. 2016 trip so I figured I would subscribe on here to get some February touring pointers.

What is the one ride that you either hate or refuse to ride?

Anything that spins is a no go for me. Or anything that could cause vertigo.

I actually did ok on the teacups on our last trip because I held that dang wheel as tight as I could so it couldn't spin. I also did pretty good on the merry-go-round, but the local one here I almost hurled .

I avoid most of the rides in Tomorrowland, will never set foot on the Wheel of Death, and don't do roller coasters anymore. Luckily my son is only 3 lol

United emailed me today and our flight time changed. Instead of having 2 hours in Denver (which we wanted since we have a 1 year old and it will be lunch time) we now only have 45 minutes. Boo.

Is this a code for DL hotels? Is this normal for DL? WDW never has these type of 3rd party discounts

It was a code that worked for the DL hotels but it has now expired. There is a 10% off code that is HOTEL10 and it works for them as well.

This is one of the first times I have seen a code like this but they do happen sometimes.

My kids are old enough that we can do date night and they can do their own thing. We're planning on doing the Blue Bayou one night while the kids grab a quick dinner and spend a couple of hours on their own. We weren't sure how they would feel about that since they love that restaurant but they took it quite well lol My daughter already has her meal planned out for that night.

We've never tried Napa Rose but I will show the menu to DH. He might like that!

I tried the code and it would save me about $100 but it's my sons birthday while we are there and the CM I talked to was so great about making sure he put some requests in for that and for a nice room, so I think I'll take my chances. I'll definitely be keeping my eye on this thread (and board) in hopes of another 20% off sale. Sadly, it's over now :(

I hate when airlines do that! We have flown United and American the past two vacations and BOTH have done that to us! Once to DL for our Christmas vacation 2012/13 and then again last New Years to Hawaii. The DL one was the worst though because we literally could not make our connecting flight. The plane wasn't even set to land until about 30 minutes AFTER our connecting flight was supposed to leave!! Needless to say, I was a little upset with the agent I spoke to. They ended up having to change our whole flight and instead of one stop, we ended up having two because of their screw up! I was NOT impressed!

That is a bummer.

We were lucky, when my travel agent rang to say that our flight had been cancelled and we had to pick a new one, we were able to get another flight that was 5 hours earlier, so we get an extra 5 hours in US without paying a fee to the airline, so we were happy with that. Arrives at 6.30 but gives us the whole day, which we didn't have before

For this specific 20% code, was there a certain travel time Fran it was valid for? Just February 15?

How was the code advertised? Orbitz email?

Someone posted a thread here about Orbitz having a 20% code so I decided to check it out. I couldn't find the 20% code so I originally booked the room with the 10% one, then when someone posted the better code on this thread, I rebooked using that one. If you are Canadian, you can go through ebates.ca to get to Orbitz and get cash back that way.

But, I would sign up for their e-mails, it would make sense that they would send codes out that way but also keep your eyes open here.
