Mickeys fun wheel of death. Those swinging cars are awful!

I can't handle the teacups anymore so I'm the mom picture taker!

I'll go on Mickey's Fun Wheel but ONLY in the non-swinging cars.

That's not to say that I actually enjoy it, but I will go on it.

We slipped to the second page!

Let's see about maybe a new question for people to answer...

What is the one ride that you either hate or refuse to ride?

For me, as shown in the photo I posted on page 9, I hate hate hate Splash Mountain. It terrifies me to no end. I have also never gone on California Screamin' but as soon as DH talks DS into going on it, my excuse of "I can't ride, someone needs to stay with DS" is not going to work anymore and I will have to try it once. :scared1:

I was terrified of Screamin' and finally one day I decided to try it. The line was nonexistent so I couldn't chicken out. Once I was in with the harness on, I changed my mind. I was freaking out and saying "let me out!" The ride started the the CM smiled and waved at me. I screamed the entire time...I hated it. But once it was over, I wanted to go again. Now, I LOVE it.

I don't care to ever go on the ferris wheel. And I am not a fan of ToT.

Is the plane ride over considered a ride??? I hate flying and it scares the bee jesus out of me, honestly don't know how my daughter managed to talk me round on this one.

Swore blind i would NEVER fly overseas!!! 14 hours in a huge tin can over the pacific ocean OMG...and i have to do it TWICE!!!

God help me if anything unnerving happens on the plane on the way over, cause no way in hell i am getting on it to come home.

If flying isn't considered a ride...not sure - i want to try to give every ride a go, being our first visit, we are unsure of what they are like and what rides will be running. Am looking forward to the Ferris Wheel one, is it Mickeys fun wheel, that would be amazing, just not in the swinging seats, the view would be spectacular

Mickey's Fun Wheel isn't FUN for me! I did it once and that was enough. I go and get a FP while my husband takes our girls. I do every ride but this one.

I'm not a fan of Mickey's Wheel of Death, even in the "stationary" cars. Stationary, really?! Those things still swing around! However, I may try it one more time on my next trip, just to say that I tried it one more time.

I'm also going to try Screamin' this next time.

I hated ToT until I watched a DVD Disney did that explained that you're actually being pulled down *faster* than the speed of gravity. Hearing confirmation and explanation that it's not a "free-fall" or "falling down the elevator shaft" made me a bit more comfortable. I mean, I knew it wasn't *really* a free fall, but I thought it was all gravity pulling us down, and when I found out how controlled the pull-down was, I felt a lot safer going on it. So, now I'm not as scared about it now.

I'm a sook and hate any ride where I'm going to get wet. Splash Mountain is probably top of my list.

I have to admit, I had to look up "sook" to see what it meant! :rotfl2:

I've got an Aussie next door, I've got to ask him if he knows this term!

I'm like you though and I tend to dislike wet rides, although when we went this past August I was really happy to go on GRR just to cool off. A good tip about that ride is that there are small two hour lockers right next to GRR that are free! I brought spare flip flops for myself and DS so that we did not have to wear wet shoes after the ride and just stored all of our gear in the lockers.

That gives me a great idea for the next question!

What ride do I refuse to go on or hate?

Well, I've been on them all but the rides I don't care about missing when I'm there are: the submarine one (who wants to be cramped up with strangers for that long in a tiny space? LOL). Also, I don't care for Mickey's wheel either. It was just really boring to me. I also don't mind missing teacups, dumbo or some of the dark rides in that area. I don't hate them per se, just don't care too much about hitting them. Although my girls love them so we usually go.

I laughed so hard at this!!! I had no idea 'sook' was only used here in Australia (and NZ). Great tip about the locker though! I went in Dec/Jan last visit so it wasn't open.

Amen, sister! February 9th will be my first ever plane ride. I've been good at avoiding it until now. Thankfully, not going over any oceans like you. My plan is to double fist margaritas before I board....or advil pm....but not both.

Well...someone posted a thread about Orbitz having a 20% off sale that ends tomorrow so I decided to check it out. I could not see the 20% off but I did find a 10% off code for PP, DLH and GCH so we might just be changing from DI&S to the Grand. A room there for $267/night might just be too good to pass up.

i have done flights within australia, my max is about 4 hours in a plane, after that i need out...so this one is going to really test me, i don't drink, so i can't even settle myself with that.

If you drink, a glass of wine is not a terrible idea to help you relax. If you don't drink then talking to your doctor might not be a bad thing. You might be able to get a small prescription for something like Ativan just for the flights. If not, then perhaps an OTC allergy medication that contains Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride?

Oh! If you do have a drink, just remember that it will likely affect you more in the air than normal! :faint:

I'm not sure who to sedate on the 14hr plus trip over, me or the kids. I'm a massive sook when it comes to flying and rides so this trip is definitely for the kids benefit lol

Why pick? Sedate everyone! :rotfl2:

Really, 14 hours sounds like an eternity and I'm not going to lie, it's a heck of a long trip but just make sure you have lots of things to keep the kids occupied and it should not be that terrible.

I load up a bunch of movies and tv shows on my son's tablet, bring snacks and books. For that length of flight, I would pack super comfy clothes to change into while on the flight and remember to bring a sweatshirt, the planes can get really cold!

You'll be fine. International is so different to domestic. I've done 5 x 25hr flights before. It sucks but just keep your eye on the prize :) Disneyland!

On a separate note, excited to learn Disney applied a discount to our stay in Feb/March....saved $606. More money for shopping hehe
