Official February 2014 Thread...

We arrive on Valentines Day and leave on February 23. Yesterday was my ADR day. I was able to get everything I wanted, including BOG and CRT, but I had to call. Bothe the MDE app and website gave me all sorts of problems. First I had no reservations, sign out, sign in, then reservations there but +10 greyed out. I tried on 3 devices before I was able to call. So happy they are all set and all I'm waiting for is the Wishes Dessert Party.

:) Kristin

Same here! Except we are going 2-15 to 2-23. Our ADR day was this morning and we got BOG too! I'm doing the same as you and waiting for the Wishes Party too.

I was not able to make ADR's but daughter was using the web page. Go figure :confused3

Yay! Scored Ohana for February 7 dinner and again for February 8 breakfast :thumbsup2 Dinner is at 8:25p and wishes is scheduled for 8p so we'll just watch from the beach at the Poly I think.

Figured we can just head into BOG for lunch and grab a nutella/fruit waffle at Sleepy Hollow or STARBUCKS FRAPPE (yumz) or something for breakfast.

So...sadly, we may not be going now. So glad I didn't book a hotel. I do have two ADR's but will cancel in plenty of time and let you guys know before I do so you can maybe snag them if needed. I will know more in the next couple of months, but I will keep my ticker (that refuses to update itself from 178 days for oer a week) and hang out here until we know for sure.

Oh no! Hopefully it works out.

P.S. - ticker shows 169 for me :thumbsup2

1 1/2 more days and then I will be waiting for an email or two from my TA on ADR's :) WAAAHOOOO!

Two more days until ADRs and we will be out of town camping :headache: Hoping the TA can handle it for me

We had to do the same thing. We were on a beach vacation on our ADR day. Our TA was able to get all of our ADRs for us, including dinner at BOG. I usually don't use a TA, but I'm really glad I did for this!

Thanks...we've had some unexpected things come up financially, so we are trying to work it out for the kids sake. We already told the kids that Christmas might be a little lighter this year and they are fine with that. We might do a shorter trip, but then we would need to give up Universal and the older two were really looking forward to that.

Still showing 178 to me...so weird.

That is so reassuring to me! Thank you so much! TA seems to really be coming in handy for me this time as well

Nice that your children are understanding and I hope you are able to find a happy medium between your financial peace and family fun.

Today was my ADR day and I was able to get everything I wanted! I did BOG for our arrival day dinner online on MDE, but then I couldn't do my +10 days so I had to call and I'll be getting a nice big phone bill for my 32min long distance call :headache: But it was definitely worth it! I also made my room-only into a package on the same phone call so yay for that too!!
I had some issues making final choices on where to eat on which days...weeks ago, I made a list of all the lunch and dinner options we want to do for our 10 days, but I hadn't got around to sorting them all out into days yet, and I just got back from a family trip to Washington DC late last night so didn't have time to do it before calling this morning!! So I sort of just made it up as I went, and it definitely isn't the most convenient (I checked park hours afterwards). I was also trying to calculate on the spot which meals I'd want to have before the races for the Glass Slipper Challenge -ended up deciding on Le Cellier before the 10k and Tony's before the half marathon. Hopefully I'll be able to tweak some stuff without too much hassle!

Well - on a whim I booked the Perfectly Princess Tea Party for my daughter on our first MK day (day after arrival). Ended up booking the hubby in too, (ouch $$$!).

My concern is - I'm worried the timeline may be too tight but I don't really have any room to put it in anywhere else. I have Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at 8 a.m. and then the Tea Party at 10:30. I'm guessing this is going to be really tight, and a bit of a nightmare ushering my DD4 out of the MK after only an hour of taking it all in. Any thoughts on this?

(None of us have been to Disney World before)

Edited to add: BBB in MK

Who is taking their kids out of school? :scared1:
I'm planning on going 5 - 11, but it's not written on stone. My DH is not comfortable with taking our oldest (6) out of 1st grade for 5 days. Yes there are other vacation days, but who wants to be in Disney those days..???

I can't even think of where I want to eat yet...I have an ADR for the 7th at BOG, and Ohana on the 8th (which is our off/lazy day) for 6:55pm. Is that a good choice for the kids? I may try the Grand Floridian instead of Ohana for the girls sake. Other than that, the other two princess meals are at MK and Epcot right? We loved the Whispering Canyon Café and think my DH would want to go back. We also loved Mama Melroses, but I want to try Prime...decisions decisions.

We took our kids out the last two times we went with no problems. Last time my oldest was in 4th grade my middle son in 1st. We let the school know ahead of time and got their classwork and they did it a little each night before we left and finished it up over the two days before they went back when we got home. This time, if we go, my oldest will be in 7th, my middle in 4th, and I don't forsee any issues at all. Good luck.

Woooo we got all the ADR's we wanted this morning! We also went ahead and booked a couple we didn't plan on, like BOG. I dunno if we'll end up keeping it, but it's there if we want it!

We are childless this upcoming trip but we took my girls out of K and 1st grade this past Feb without issue. I think it's easier when they're younger and have a smaller workload.

I will be taking my DD out of school for WDW. DD1 will be in 8th grade and DD2 in 6th. Both do very well academically and so I am not too worried. I plan to notify the school/teachers in advance in order to obtain the missed school work.

We got all our ADRs as well this am and even the times I requested. We have CRT at 8:05am, how long should we expect the meal to last?

Our DD is in second grade and we will be taking her out for it as well. I believe family time is just as important as school time, so I don't feel too worried about it. I already know she'll have homework with her so I will be sure she has time set aside for that. And I will be sure to let het teacher know far in advance. I'm less worried about her teacher, then I am the school district. I'm sure we will get a letter or something because it is an entire week she will miss.

:yay: Well we are booked !!!! 2/17 to 2/21 AOA Cars Family with all our ADR's done !!!! can't wait but now I have to !!!

Gahhhh, I want to be in WDW so bad! February is so far away! I think I'll post our plans thus far to help me cope. :p

Day 1: Flight arrives at MCO @ 8:20pm, get to Pop Century by 10pm at the latest, SLEEP!

Day 2: AK for rope drop, possibly a 10:30 breakfast at Tusker House (we have an ADR but probably won't keep it), head to HS by mid-afternoon, 5:35 dinner at 50's PT if we feel like it.

Day 3: Epcot for rope drop, 5:30 dinner at 'Ohana (if we feel like it), explore monorail resorts. Might hit up DTD if we don't feel like 'Ohana.

Day 4: MK for rope drop, 5:40 dinner at BOG (if we feel like it, are you seeing a pattern here? :p).

Day 5: 7:15 Chef Mickey's breakfast to celebrate my niece's 2nd birthday (this one is definite!), MK for rope drop.

Day 6: Epcot for rope drop, 5:15 dinner at 'Ohana if we didn't go on day 3, or DTD for the evening if we didn't go on day 3.

Day 7: HS for rope drop, 11:30 lunch at 50's PT if we didn't go on day 2, head back to Pop around 3 to catch DME for a 7:20 flight home. :( :( :( :(

As you can see, we're not sure about which ADR's we're going to keep. We're trying something new this trip - we are NOT ADR or TS people. We don't like being tied down to a reservation time or spending a lot of time eating. We'll probably end up accruing a few of the $10 charges. The only one's we're definitely doing are Chef Mickey's and one of the 50's PT.

Whew! I feel better now! Thanks for reading if you did, and giving me a chance to get some of the Disney jitters out!
