Official February 2014 Thread...

:yay: Well we are booked !!!! 2/17 to 2/21 AOA Cars Family with all our ADR's done !!!! can't wait but now I have to !!!

Gratz! Doesn't the wait seems so long now that there is no other major WDW planning milestones (at least for me)?

Gahhhh, I want to be in WDW so bad! February is so far away! I think I'll post our plans thus far to help me cope. :p

Day 1: Flight arrives at MCO @ 8:20pm, get to Pop Century by 10pm at the latest, SLEEP!

As you can see, we're not sure about which ADR's we're going to keep. We're trying something new this trip - we are NOT ADR or TS people. We don't like being tied down to a reservation time or spending a lot of time eating. We'll probably end up accruing a few of the $10 charges. The only one's we're definitely doing are Chef Mickey's and one of the 50's PT.

Whew! I feel better now! Thanks for reading if you did, and giving me a chance to get some of the Disney jitters out!

This is a good idea! I hope others will post their plans. Question for you...I am already entertaining the idea of a repeat WDW visit :p sooo how do you like POP? I have heard good things about it and it seems to be a favorite but why is it a favorite?

ADRs have been made ... now, just waiting for the opportunity (still so far away.... grrrr) to book the dessert party... We're thinking we will want to do this on our last MK night.

I really don't want to wish my life away .... BUT, I'm ready to be back at Disney World!!!!

We love Pop because it's in our budget, it's not too gawdy, and it just feels like Disney! It's on a lake and everything is pretty close to the main building, too.

Hello! So excited, I'm heading to WDW for the week of the 2nd to celebrate my Birthday and Anniversary! Had a bad experience my first two trips, went with a complainer the first trip and someone who just wasn't into Disney the second (how is this even possible?!?!). So I really want to make this special. Any suggestions for couples that won't break the bank?

I'm excited too!! It's feeling more real now. I just made my first ADR for Chef Mickey's!
I decided to make it on the Monday (we arrive on Sat) because we will not be in a park that day.

So far my plans are as follows:

Day 1 - Saturday - Arrive (staying offsite) - stock up on things for the house while the kids swim in the pool - pick up a birthday cake, have a BBQ for dinner and then cake at the house, early to bed. I'm even bringing some decorations with me and will probably pick up a balloon or 2 at Walmart so I don't have to pay huge prices at the parks!! lol Arrival day is my twins 5th birthday!! They are sooooo excited to go on an airplane for the first time on their actual birthday.

Day 2 - Sunday - MK day, although it says it will be busy, we will just go, walk around, check it out - after all we have 2 weeks at Disney!!

Day 3 - Monday - Late Chef Mickey breakfast ADR - wander the resorts or DTD

Day 4 - Tuesday - Orange Groves!! - so excited about this one

The rest so far is up in the air, I've thought about everything from Wishes Dessert party to Pirates and Pals cruise but I'm soooo up in the air.

Like another poster, I dont like to be tied down.

Sounds great so far! I would love to rent a house/condo offsite and stay for a couple of weeks sometime. There is so much to do down there, but our trips are always a week or less, so we always just stick with WDW! Unfortunately, my sister and I are both teachers so the only time we'd be able to do a long trip would be summer, and 2 weeks of Florida summer just doesn't sound like fun to us New Englanders!

I am definitely going to have to keep it in mind. I prefer the "not too gawdy" :thumbsup2

I wish I had some suggestions...a few people have talked about watching fireworks from the poly beach. That might be an inexpensive and impressive option for couples :)

That sounds so nice! To be able to stay at Disney for 2 weeks...maybe on a different trip :) I really love seeing everyone's plans...when I get a chance I will have to post mine also.

Thanks for you replies concerning taking the kids out of school for WDW...my DH is not sold on the idea yet and it's driving me crazy! It's only first grade and she's a good student. She got all 4's and passed with a level G reading! I'm always on top of the homework and he knows that, but he's not budging. I'm so upset! :headache:

Thanks for the info! That does sound pretty romantic, hopefully the weather is reasonable, or at least nice for snuggling. :)

This is easily one of our favorite things to do! They pipe in the music through the speakers on the beach. It's really great!

We'll be watching the 8p fireworks on 2/7 and then eating at 'Ohana at 8:30p!

Opened our mailbox today to some "great" mail....got our Magical Express tickets and luggage tags. It was so nice to see the big smiles on my DDs faces! I could live off those looks for years

Ok, time for bed...feeling a little under the weather. Hope everyone had a wonderful day!

Are you going in February? You got them already?

Yeah! We're heading to "feed the mouse" during February school break (sneaking out a few days early! :ssst:, it's ok, good students and only 2 days). We went this time last year and our oldest DS missed 4 days of our 7 because he was sick. Poor baby. Missed out on most of the fun. DH stayed at the condo with him and played nurse, our youngest DS and I parked it on our own. Although it was nice to have quality time with him, it just wasn't the same without everyone. We're having a "do over" this year and hoping everyone stays healthy!
I'm a bit nervous though, by the sounds of it we'll be hitting the marathon. :crowded: Last year they were setting up for one as we were getting ready to go home. Need to find out the actual race day date! Regardless, we'll be at WDW, crowds or no crowds it's always great!

Looks like we'll be safe! Race weekend starts just as we depart. I guess we'll expect the same crowds as last year and they were pretty much manageable. Phew, that's good news!

Add us to the Feb 2014 list! We are planning on being there 2/8-2/15:dance3:
Have all of our ADRs booked but are waiting to see if any deals like Free Dining come out before we book our package!! (Plan to book by the end of this month regardless!!)

We are going to try and sit down tonight and see what we are able to do. Hopefully we will be able to go. Needing a vaction so badly and I hate to let the kids down.

Wish us luck!

I booked our airfare a few weeks ago and keep watching price drops daily. I sent the flight numbers to our TA and she had them sent so.... I put them in our WDW binder:cool1:

I don't recall them ever offering free dining in February. Is this something people are really anticipating or is it typical for that time period? Would have considered staying on site had I realized that would happen. Not sure I'll change plans now, but good to know for the future.

This year was actually that first time in several years that free dining was NOT offered in February. Check out the historical discounts page on Mousesavers. Stay Play Dine was the discount instead this year. I think the experts believe that this means FD is being phased out and will no longer be offered in February. But many of us are hoping! I actually got a FD PIN for this past February even though it wasn't the discount for the general public.
