***Official DLR September & October 2022 Check-in Thread***

Hi everyone!

My fiancé and I will be there October 10-14th! We're East Coasters but haven't been to WDW in quite awhile and this is our first Disneyland trip! Staying at Paradise Pier and doing 3-day park hoppers, as well as trying to do one night of OBB when tickets are available. Having never done reservations before, I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed with trying to schedule everything to make the most of our time! Does anyone have a recommendation on which park to start in on OBB night if we're going to OBB that night? I feel like DL would be more crowded...is it better to just spend the entire day in DCA? Thanks! :)

My approach may differ from others here, but I would personally start at DL, then move to OBB. With DCA closing early for the party, those non-party folks will start to move to DL park. Since you have 3 day hoppers, I wouldn't worry too much about not catching a ride the first time. Again, that's just my opinion.

Smart! Thank you!

What things are folks still waiting on in regards to planning your trip?

For me:
Waiting to hear about OBB.
Early Entry Schedule (We are not on site and we do NOT have hoppers. This is stressing me out. we do have 5 days and genie +. I don't want to pay $240...)
BBB opening date- we only know "later this year"
Blue Bayou reservations- Specifically hoping the Fantasmic package returns.

I also can't wait to hear about Halloween treats and special food!

We will be there at busy time. Only dates that work for bringing my little grandtinker is Columbus day weekend. Me, Mrs. Tigger's Ally, my daughter (tink0812) and my 6 year old grandtinker are flying in Friday October 7th. Staying three nights at GCH. Two day park hoppers for Saturday and Sunday. We are WDW nuts and average a trip or two a year but I want to get the grandtink out to DL before she outgrows the wonderful kid rides. Because we go south so often, we are not in the "have to" ride most rides group. List of things we want to do.

  • Cars land
  • WOC desert party
  • Matterhorn (for me in particular)
  • all the kids rides
  • Get my grandaughter soaked on GRR
  • ride the monorail

Veterans day is in November... I think your dates are good!

Waiting to get word on OBB. That's our only holdup. Once we get that booked, the rest will fall into place, I'm sure of it. 🙃

We don't have too much left to do -- I'm waiting on Disney mostly!

Park reservations start opening for me on the 29th so I should probably buy our tickets :upsidedow

Other than that everything else is the waiting and assuming game. OBB dates and meal reservations mainly.. also our dog hotel went under during Covid so I've been looking into dog sitters and trying to figure that out.

My mom needs to reserve her scooter but then everything else is smooth sailing and we wait.. and wait.. and wait

I NEED OBB dates! At the very least an announcement of when tickets will go on sale.

I've got my list of dining reservations I want to make, counting down the days until I can get frustrated over that process. lol

DH and I are still going back and forth on staying at DL Hotel. We want to but we also have been talking about taking that extra cost and applying it to another tropical getaway for the 2 of us. I likely won't decide until the last minute.

Vacation wise, just like @roflclaw we need to find a dog hotel. We just recently adopted a dog so this will be a first for us. My mom watched this past weekend while we were out of town but that's not an option when we go to DL.

I'm so ready for my plans to be all buttoned up already!

Waiting on OBB dates here too! It sounds like the extra hour for on-site guests should be back by this time, so I kinda want to hear more about that. I would assume you need to make your reservation (or starting park reservation) for whatever park is going to have the extra hour that day if you want to take advantage of that...right? I feel like there's so much I need to do but I'm just waiting!

Sooooo....

Something happened today. We were going to fly into San Diego and do legoland. But their customer service has seriously left a bad taste.. so anyway... we decided to cancel that. And anyway..

My hubby decided.. that we should... change our trip to the DLH.

So OMG it's happening! 7 nights at DLH! October 11-18th. !!

Did you mange to get a good rate? I looked earlier for the dates 10-16th out of interest as we are staying form the 16th to the 18th and only a premium view was first cheapest option available.

We are the 11-18th and got standard view so it must be the 10th that is giving you trouble!

Waiting to see if Napa Rose is going to restart the Chef counter. Want this for my birthday the 20th.

And have to wait on the 60 days out items. restaurants, WOC and Fantasmic.

I am staying at the DLH for one night only. September 17th. They only had view rooms. And NO it was not a bargain. But It was on my Disney bucket list.
