Who did you ask about the cake? Because some of the Deluxe resort bakeries should have no problem making you a mini cake with a bellhop hat theme. It's just a basic cake shape with a band at the bottom, after all...

I've been emailing Donald at the CR. I sent a picture of a mini wedding cake to show the size i'd like and a picture of the Tower of Terror cake that's in the index on here. He said they can't make it because of size but can do a similar one in 6 inches for 90 dollars.

I'm in 2 minds now whether to just leave it and not get a cake or keep trying. I could ask if they can do anything Tower of Terror themed with a mini cake but I'm not sure how much more simple it could be made?

Can anyone offer advice on how I can give a mini two tier as a gift????

I'm not sure that you can. When I ordered the cake for my sister's birthday, I tried to pay in advance and was told I could not, that I had to pay when it was delivered. At the restaurant, I had to specifically ask for the cake to be on a separate check from the dinner. My only suggestion would be to order it and give a gift card to your friend in the amount of the cake + tax + gratuity.

Good luck!

Taking a stab in the dark here, hoping somebody will know or can point me in the right direction!

I do cake for a living. I own my own business, and do weddings, and any other special occasion cakes.

We are headed to Disney in May, and a friend said to me "you should totally see if you could tour the cake kitchen and see what they do"

Is that even possible?

Does he know you're OK with buttercream? Maybe he thinks you want fondant on the mini cake (which Yacht & Beach Club did for me, no problem, btw...).

It seems like if you were able to do it, it would have to be due to the kindness of some cast member bestowing extra pixie dust. There is no formal program for this like they have on the Disney Cruise Line. Also, not every park and resort kitchen is really set up to do elaborate cakes.

Thanks Lurkyloo, I've just emailed back asking if anything can be done with a mini cake in a Tower of Terror theme or if buttercream would make a difference. I will report back.

Who do I need to complain too? I ordered a cake and they have no record of it so when I was expecting my nice mini wedding cake this past Sunday night you can bet I was surprised when all I got was a cup cake.... They said I was wrong I did not order a cake as thry have no record of it. I show the lady at chef mickeys my emails with Donald and all I got was well he's on vacation.....

I need to know who I can talk to.

I'm so sorry you had a bad experience. You can write to:

Walt Disney World Guest Communications
P.O. Box 10,040
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830-0040

I would print a copy of the email and send it along with a letter. Make sure you include a phone number where they can reach you. They often call to make sure they have the details correct and to apologize.

We have lift off! Well sort of - I've had a reply saying they will can do white or maroon buttercream with just the tower of terror logo on. (I'm not sure how that's really different to what I asked to begin with, but I'm happy to be getting somewhere)

Now to ask for a fondant suitcase and flavoured filling. Wish me luck!

Susiec - that's terrible. I hope you get some answers.

I don't know about Babycakes, but this info doesn't sound right to me. I know bakery items are higher risk regardless (i.e. same mixers/pans used to make a yellow cake could also be used to make a carrot cake w/nuts), but my DD5 is peanut and tree nut allergic and when I ordered her bday cake from the Contemporary last summer, I was told the only thing on my cake that posed a cross contamination risk was the white chocolate Belle topper I added to the cake. Maybe it's naive, but I was under the impression that each respective resort WDW bakery baked their cakes...i.e. no factory involved.

The cakes at the Magic Kingdom are contracted out (and delicious)
Cakes at the Grand as well as the Contemporary are made in house
Boardwalk Bakery are made in house

My dd will be turning 7 on our upcoming trip. 19 days and counting!!! I have the Cinderella breakfast booked at the castle, I am not interested in the bday pkg there but I would be interested in the slipper dessert. Is this available there and for breakfast? Who do I contact?

Second, we will be celebrating her bday that evening at 1900 Park Faire, the bday girl and sister will be dressed in the dresses of the new frozen characters, Anna and Elisa, so I'm planning on ordering a cake themed to the new movie Frozen. We will be seeing the movie the night before at DTD. So excited!!!!! Okay sorry focused again. Is Pat still at the GF? Contact info?

Thanks to all who help!!!

I finally got an ADR for my trip next week in a MK resort so I'll be ordering a cake for our CRT lunch! So excited!

I had asked about the lighted white chocolate castle and it appears they will do it but I'm conflicted on what size to ask for. The mini is much too small. I want enough cake for DS and I to have some after lunch and still take some back to the resort.

Lurkyloo I think you mentioned it was too big for a mini tier cake, but we might be able to do a tiered cake 3 inch on top of 5 inch. Is that more or less cake than just a 6 inch? Any idea on price as well? I don't want to spend a ton of money but still want to get to experience a Disney cake this trip.

We will be doing just buttercream (not a fan of fondant) but may ask for marble flavor.

Just got back from Disney and our cakes turned out amazing! We have two two-tired mini cakes for my twins bday at Captain's Grill and they both came out adorable. Will try to post pics later.

I'm sorry to hear this happened to you. It makes
me nervous as we have DS 2d bday cake ordered for Chef Mickeys in January. Had you called the cake line to order after your emails with Donald? I know I emailed with Heather then had to call the number to order.

Does anyone know if I can make changes to my cake that I've already ordered? We won't receive the cake until November 14!

I had no problems with my twins cakes this past week. I ordered by phone a month in advanced and called to confirm just incase a week before.

We are leaving Tom and just got resies at Be Our Guest and wondering how it works if we wanted a celebration cake or if there are any personalized celebration desserts? Any pics or prices? Thks for any help!

Just a quick update on my ToT mini cake for anyone interested. Apparently I can have Vanilla sponge with Peanut Butter Mousse filling, no suitcase as the Cake is too small.

Bit disappointed about the suitcase but I think I will go ahead and call the order through next week.
