They shouldn't charge extra for that - it's a standard filling flavor. The CM probably just isn't aware of that.

You are right.
The CM called me back today and we're all set for July 18th.
We're celebrating 2 birthdays that day.:cool1:
Christopher turns 13 and Andy turns 30.
Let the celebrations begin!!

JUST 1 month until we're there!!

Last time we were in Disney in December celebrating DD's b-day I got her a mini wedding cake at the GF. We are going this December, was thinking of the Cinderella slipper. I see you can maybe get it in milk chocolate at CRT and only CRT correct? Also, if I remember correct, the slipper is filled with a mousse and some berries on top. Is this still what I should expect if I order the slipper? Thanks!

This is what I received at CRT after my SO proposed (and for the record, it was sooo good!):

Does anyone know if they still do the little treasure chest cakes? We're going to be eating at Tony's Town Square in a couple of weeks. If not what are the options at Tony's? Just a podium cake? Or can I order something small ahead of time? I'm not getting anything fancy just something fun for the kids.

Hi everyone! Just a quick question.....I've been trying to connect with Pat from the Grand Floridian about ordering custom cake for my July trip but no luck. I've left two messages and haven't heard back. Should I call again or wait awhile? Thanks!

What times are you calling? I have discover between 2-3 pm eastern time seems to be a good time to reach anyone at Disney

Unfortunately, the treasure chest cakes have been discontinued. You can either order a podium cake when you get there or call Private Dining at the Contemporary to order one of the standard custom cakes or a fancy cake (see Post #2 for options).

Thanks lurkyloo! Those treasure chest cakes were really cute too. I'll look at the post about ordering one ahead of time so I can be sure we get one.

Hello everybody!

In October DH, my BFF and I will be having dinner at CRT to celebrate my 35th birthday!

I would like to find out some info about ordering a cake. I read the beginning of the thread and noticed that they do the special princess package at CRT. That's fine, but honestly a bit young for me. And besides, I already have my own tiara that I was planning to wear.

Here are my questions:

1. Since we'll be dining in the MK, we would call private dining at the Contemporary, yes?

2. As there will only be three of us, I was thinking about ordering a mini-cake. Any recommendations on sizes?

3. I know they can generally do themeing requests, but do you think they might be able to do something themed like Wreck-it-Ralph/Vanellope von Schweetz? I wouldn't really want a cake shaped like Vanellope, but maybe some theming based off that would be cool. I would love if it somehow incorporated Vanellope's medal that she gives Ralph. DH and I really like Wreck-it-Ralph and will be going as Ralph and Vanellope to MNSSHP!

Any thoughts, suggestions, comments would be helpful. :) I'm looking forward to this quite a lot! :dance3:

I got tickled by this, because I plan on wearing my birthday button and tiara too, and I'm 50-ish :rotfl: I plan on ordering this for my birthday....hopefully they'll be able to do it! I want the to put on a plate with "Happy Birthday Kelly" on it.

lurkyloo, one more question. I want that Happy Birthday mickey medallion on the cake. Is that on the podium cake or the cake I order ahead of time?

It's pictured on the sample cake in the doc the Magic Kingdom sends out and has been used for several years, but I think if you really really wanted to be sure, you might want to place your order ahead of time and have them note that you want it on the cake. :thumbsup2

I had a birthday at Disney World in November and got two custom cakes. I'm trying to upload the pictures from my computer to this post but it isn't working. How do you upload photos to here?

The first cake was 10 inches and was delivered to Cinderella's castle for breakfast.

I really loved the cake's they helped make my sweet 16 the best day of my life. :) I couldn't stop smiling :) Both cakes where made at the contemporary.

Thank you for telling me how to post them Lurkyloo :)

Those are great cakes—thanks for sharing! If you feel comfortable divulging how much they cost, it will be helpful to other DISers who might want to get something similar. :thumbsup2

I'm not exactly sure of the prices because I wasn't the one who paid for them. In my emails with the bakery to design them they gave me estimates of $155 for the Belle and $100 for the Mad Hatter.

While looking at the estimate emails I realized I got the sizes switched in my original post. The mad hatter was 8 inches and Belle was 10 inches. I guess that's why this forum has an edit button lol.
