We celebrated Grand daughters 8th birthday in Disney last week. Her dinner was in Cinderella's Castle. At this time Elsa and Anna just came out so it seemed fitting that we celebrate using the Frozen Theme

it was an 8 inch choc cake with buttercream frosting, The price was 120 plus tax plus gratuities. The cake was nice. She was surprised. It tasted very good, moist- not dry. I thought the price was a wee bit steep as I saw nicer- bigger cakes for cheaper.

Is there a specific # I contact to have a cake ordered for CRT? My plans have changed slightly and am trying to have hubby's bday there now, trying to decide to have the cake ordered to our room that night or get it at CRT. I want to do a beach themed cake like the bucket one you posted Lurkyloo. Any advice?

anyone have any photos of Christmas or New years cakes they would like to share? I see the Lady and the Tramp one in a previous post was wondering if there were others

Thanks

Where are you staying? It may be easiest just to have it delivered to your room, but it depends on the resort. For the MK you now have this extra layer of complication where you need to email a park-based department and convince them you need to speak to the Contemporary pastry team, rather than contacting the Contemporary pastry team directly.

Just got back from a wonderful 2 week vacation, mostly 2 cruises but part was the World. I ordered my cakes about 6 weeks out, calling both the POR and the Wilderness Lodge in the morning, leaving a message and receiving a call back by midafternoon the same day. My POR order was first and the easiest. Once I got over the disappointment of not be able to get my DH a mini 2 tired carrot cake we settled on red velvet with cream cheese frosting. I made my order, was quoted $25 plus tax and that was it.

Next was the WL in which I explained that I wanted a specialty 2 tired mini that was shown at this year’s wedding expo. I was given the email to the Contemporary and told that Chef Brian was no longer head of the team and that I would be dealing with Chef Donald. I sent an email and this took a couple of weeks because he was on vacation. It took a couple of more emails on my part before I finalized my cake but at least it was done or so I thought.

A few days before our departure I called to verify my orders. POR had everything and was ready but the CR did not. It would seem that the gentleman who I spoke to make my order did not complete it. When I called I was told that my order was in the incomplete file. Great. It was verified and I knew I could leave without any cake issues. Price $50 plus tax and tip.

When our dinner at Boatwright’s was over there was no sign of a cake. Since DH was aware of his surprise I mentioned it to our server who looked at me with the biggest eyes. Fortunately she did find it and brought it out complete with balloons and beads for my birthday guy. So despite all the calls it doesn’t hurt to ask even when your there. Here is are happy result.

2 tiered mini cake
Red Velvet with cream cheese frosting.
Blue Mickey’s with Chocolate Mickey ears on top.
Total with tax and tip…unknown since charges have yet to appear.

When I made my order for the Wilderness Lodge we decided that it would be delivered to our room after we returned from the parks. I asked for a 9:30 or so delivery or as late as possible. When our anniversary cake didn't show I went to Guest Services but they had no clue. We went to bed around 10:30 due to an early breakfast followed by a limo pickup. Imagine my surprise when the phone rang asking to bring our cake up at 12 midnight??? Oh well I did state late as possible and this beauty remained until breakfast.

2 tiered mini cake
Chocolate cake with white chocolate mousse filling and snowflake theme like picture sent.
(Cake was white!)
Total with tax and tip…$65.45.

My suggestion....check...double check and maybe triple!
Thanks to lurkyloo for posting the Wedding Expo Snowflake mini.:goodvibes

Thanks so much for posting this detailed information! Sorry to hear you had delivery problems—it's a shame it happens to so many people, cuz part of the fun of a cake is making it a surprise! But I'm glad it all turned out OK for you.

Happy Holidays everyone! Sharing a long overdue cake photo from our September trip (and hoping the link/photo works):

Mini-wedding cake
Delivered to Be Our Guest
Belle "theme"
Chocolate cake with white buttercream between layers
Cost was $35 plus tax

Overall, the cake was very tasty and perfect size if you don't want a lot of leftovers. The cake was shared by two adults. I ordered using the Magic Kingdom cakes email address.

Cake wasn't decorated as the CM and I had discussed in our email exchange. It was supposed to have a single large red rose on top and some green and lavendar accents around the cake.

It was so dark in the Ballroom at BOG that I thought the cake was more gold in color - until I got the top half out in the sunlight! Think of a yellow highlighter and you have what they consider to be "Belle Yellow".

Cake was a surprise for DH and he loved it. Not going back to WDW until the holiday season in 2015 so I will be trolling the boards eagerly anticipating your holiday cake photos!

Thanks again to lurkyloo for her expert advice!

We are staying at the beachclub villas, so would you recommend just ordering to hotel room?

Yes! So much more convenient! The only drag is paying the service and delivery fees....

I just had an amazing cake made by the contemporary and delivered to wilderness lodge. I wish I knew how to post pics!!!

No, it's cuz that resort doesn't have Private Dining. At the Deluxe resorts, private dining charges 18% or 19% service charge, plus a delivery fee. When you get a cake delivered to a Moderate or a Value, you make out like a bandit! :teeth:

Upload the photos to Photobucket or the DIS Boards' community gallery and then paste each photo's

We had a few bumps but in the end it worked out. I was pleased and so was DH who knew all about our two little celebrations so the extra checking didn't ruin anything in our case.:goodvibes

I emailed CRT directly with that picture you showed me of the beach bucket with the shovel and they said they could do with with the yellow cake and chocolate icing in side, then the sand and shells on top for $50, so maybe this will work out

This is more or less the cake I am looking for DW's 40th this May. Can I ask how much you were eventually charged ? And I guess the outside of the cake is fondant ? Thanks

Could you pass along the email you used to contact CRT. I would like to order a cake for my daughters 10th birthday on January 14.
Thanks

I ordered two cakes for both of my daughters birthdays. This was October 2013 and we had them delivered to Akershus where we were having breakfast.

I ordered the small two tier cakes with a white chocolate castle on the top.

This is the first cake:

And the inside:

The second cake:

These were both delicious. The cost of each was $45 plus tax and 18% gratuity so the total was $112.05. Expensive but totally worth it after seeing the smiles on my 5 year old and 2 year olds faces. :lovestruc
