Hi there! I'm new to this forum, I'd like to order the Star wars Mickey cake for my son's birthday, but I have some questions I'd like to ask you if you don't mind:

Can I order it for delivery to chef Mickey restaurant for dinner?

What's its minimum size?

What and how many ingredients can be used for the filling?

Do they put bday candles on the cakes?

I ordered a cake for DH's 40th birthday while we were at WDW in December. The cake was to be delivered to our dinner at 'Ohana on his birthday, so everything was done through the GF bakery and Pat.

I didn't have any issues with the process at all. Pat was a bit slow to return my initial phone call and when she did call it was in the evening when DH was at home with me (making me scramble for an excuse to run out of the room to talk), but after that, the email communications were ok.

DH's favorite character is Stitch, but I hadn't seen any Stitch cake pics that I liked on the cake threads. Eventually, I found a wedding report that had a Stitch groom's cake that I adored. I sent her a picture with the requested changes.

I ordered an 8" chocolate cake w/chocolate mousse filling and chocolate buttercream. The quoted price was $77. My CC was billed for the cake before we even left for the trip, which caught me off guard, but thankfully, everything went OK with the cake and it all worked out!

The cake was a surprise, but that was ALMOST ruined by the girls at the podium for 'Ohana. When checking in, they mentioned the cake right in front of DH! Thank goodness he was staring at the TV, captivated by cartoons.

I wasn't sure how I'd like the cutouts, but with the other decorations on the cake, I think it all looked great! He was extremely surprised and it definitely made his birthday a bit more special than it already was.

As MrsK said, all the answers are at that link. One thing you should know is that the Jedi Mickey white chocolate character is a creation of the pastry chef at the Yacht & Beach Club, NOT a standard offering. The figure alone costs about $75, and you would need to be staying or dining there (or possibly Epcot, if they're willing to transport the cake) in order to get the cake made by Y&BC Bakery.

The mini cakes can have plenty of wow factor, it just depends on what you ask for. I think the one I got at the Grand Floridian (which is where you'd order one from for a meal at the Polynesian) was pretty spectacular:

I to cruise through this thread from time to time and drool over the cakes. I hope someday to partake of one at WDW.

I love the beach cake. The seashells reminds me of one of our family stories that my son retold over the holidays. Seems like we got a basket of goodies one holiday and I offered him one of the mints -- looked just like the scallop shell. He took one bite, spit it out and told me it was soap.

If I want a fairly simple but pretty cake for Valentine's and I'm staying at Pop, would I be better off to just go buy one or some special desserts from Boardwalk Bakery or Main Street Bakery? We are not doing any special Valentine's dinner plans, but we are doing the Rainforest Cafe for a late lunch with the kids and then Wishes that night. I don't think anyone delivers to Pop any way and I'm getting the vibe that those 21.95 cakes aren't very good anyway.

I am ordering two in May...one for my grandsons birthday and one for my in-laws 50th anniversary?

If I want a fairly simple but pretty cake for Valentine's and I'm staying at Pop, would I be better off to just go buy one or some special desserts from Boardwalk Bakery or Main Street Bakery? We are not doing any special Valentine's dinner plans, but we are doing the Rainforest Cafe for a late lunch with the kids and then Wishes that night. I don't think anyone delivers to Pop any way and I'm getting the vibe that those 21.95 cakes aren't very good anyway.

Supposedly BoardWalk Bakery delivers to Pop, but you have to order through Pop's food court and try to get someone helpful enough to figure out how to do it.

One or two weeks should be plenty of time, but if you anticipate there being a lot of back-and-forth with the pastry chef, you might want to give it three.

About 7 days before our (pre)anniversary trip last weekend, I decided to order a mini 2-tier replica of our wedding cake to be delivered to our room at BoardWalk Inn. I called on a Saturday afternoon and got right through to BoardWalk Bakery pastry chef Yoly, who gave me an email address where I sent pictures of our original cake for her reference. After we'd worked out the details, she had me phone private dining to place my order.

The cake was waiting for us when we got back to the room that night (we'd asked for the last delivery time, 8:45pm), and they had very thoughtfully placed it in the fridge for us.

It turned out fabulously! Not only was it adorable to look at, it was THE best-tasting cake I've ever had at Walt Disney World. I think maybe the mini cakes have a better frosting-to-cake ratio. It was covered in buttercream, with fondant accents to replicate those on our Disney wedding cake.

Did you happen to visit the BW Bakery? If so, did you notice the cake up with the wedding display cakes that had Belle on it? I did, but it was busy, so I didn't get a chance to ask about it.

I don't know, but it was simple but beautiful. I ended up breaking my camera before we went back so I didn't get pictures and it was crazy in there.

I was checking out the bakeries/phone numbers, descriptions, etc. I have a quick question?

We have reservations at Via Napolil for my in-laws 50th anniversary and I was planning on having a big, fancy fondant cake made/delivered. However, I'm not sure I can do this?

Any help please!!!???

Unless you can get the Yacht & Beach Club bakery to agree to deliver one, you will not be able to get a fancy fondant cake in Epcot. If you go back to that Cake Options By Location page, click on Epcot and scroll down to Tutto Italia/Via Napoli to see the kinds of cakes available in the Italy Pavilion.
