I think I know the answer to this but wanted to confirm and make sure.

I want to order a white chocolate surprise (probably the monorail and Mickey statue) at BLT Resort for my friend who invited me along for an adult only trip.

They will be putting their credit card on the room for charges on our vacation.

I want to pay for this, if possible. Is there any way for me to pay for it and it NOT go on the room charges?

Thanks! :goodvibes

I just ordered a cake and I know they took my credit card but said it would be on the bill for dinner if that was ok. I am assuming though since they took my credit card they can probably charge yours instead of the room.

Just ordered our 2nd GF cake for our trip.

You ladies are a bad influence;)

Can't wait to show you pics!

I see since the last time we've ordered a cake that the Contemp will have cakes delivered to the MK restaurants - is there a crazy delivery fee for this? Just wondering if I can get a cake for about the same price at the Crystal Palace breakfast or if I'm better offer waiting and getting it at our Cali Grill ressie in the evening.

I had a cake delivered to Tony's Town Square in June and there was no delivery charge. Hope this helps!

Has anyone ordered or have a pic of a Halloween theme cake with Minnie?
Thinking of ordering a cake for my "girls only trip" on 10/22. But don't want Haunted Mansion theme.

Thanks:)

There is no delivery fee. :thumbsup2

The last time we stopped in the Boardwalk Bakery, they had probably 3 cakes in the bottom section of the display case and they weren't the podium cakes. Now, saying that, that was lasy May. I did ask if they were for someone or if they were for sale and they said they were for sale. I was going to get one, but we were only there for a long weekend and it wouldn't have been feasible.

Ooh! I hope this is an option now! Whenever I've asked, they always said the cakes were custom orders for others. It would be great to be able to just pick one up on the spur of the moment.

It seems like this should be possible, but the standard procedure is to charge it to the room as a Private Dining line item. So even if they tell you they will charge your card instead, be sure to have your friend check the hotel bill at the end of the stay. I can see them getting it mixed up...

lurkyloo, thank you for your never-ending knowledge of all things Disney cake-related.

Back to my post (which I would quote if I could figure that function out, but I can't so...) I can specify a delivery time? Will Bell Services hold the cake in a refrigerator or whatnot until we arrive at our resort? We're going to be taking a mid-day break, so could I call ahead when we're leaving EPCOT and have them bring the cake to our room?

Just got back from a wonderful 9 days in Disney and cannot recommend Chef Brian and the Contemporary Bakery enough! The cake I surprised my husband with for our anniversary was everything I asked for in terms of design, AND it tasted simply amazing.

I will post pictures later this week, but just wanted to thank you all for your help!:thumbsup2

Can I just ask, did you e-mail chef Brian about your cake before ordering it? My DD is into dragons and so we want to get her a dragon themed cake for her birthday. Our trip isn't till 11/3, so I e-mailed chef Brian at the weekend asking if it's possible to get such a cake, just waiting to hear back from him. I'm just wondering if I did the right thing, since previously I've just phoned to order our cakes.
TIA :goodvibes

No problem! :goodvibes Your cake will be held and delivered by Private Dining, and you can specify a time for delivery. Alternatively, you can call as you leave EPCOT and ask them to deliver it. The direct line for Private Dining at Wilderness Lodge is 407-824-2090.

Oh, and to quote a post, go to that post and click the "QUOTE" button in its lower right hand corner (instead of clicking POST at the top or bottom of the page). To quote more than one post, click the little square with the " and the + in it (next to the QUOTE button) for each post you want to quote, then click POST. :thumbsup2

I did work with him via email, but only after first calling the cake hotline to give them our information, what we were requesting, etc. That way, they were able to get my information and note something like "Steamboat Willie cake" so they had a cross reference with what Chef Brian agreed to do.

Probably wouldn't hurt to give them a call, and just let them know you've already emailed him your info.:thumbsup2

HTH!

Decided to go with a cake at Boma the night before my DDs birthday. Called the AKL Private Dining and got Latisha, very very nice! Explained my choices. I went with a 6 inch cake, chose the flavors of Chocolate Cake with Custard and Strawberry filling and Chocolate Buttercream icing. I requested a few strawberries on the outside and Happy 12th Birthday Kylie on it. I am sure she will love it and I'll be sure to post pics when I get back. I was told the 6inch would start at $32 and the strawberries would be $3 each (I asked for 3 on the top or outside somewhere).

Just wanted to chime in- we had Chef Brian do a cake for us last month. I emailed him first...maybe about 2 wks and 2 days before I needed the cake. It took about a day for him to get back with me, we emailed back and forth for a couple of days concerning my plans, and in the end he gave me my quote and told me to call private dining to book it. I think the whole process took 3 days. So, I called private dining after hashing out my design with Chef Brian. We emailed a little after I called and booked due to some topper issues, but the bulk of the communication was done via email prior to calling. I know 2 wks out is the suggested contact time, but I've seen people receive responses farther out. I'm guessing his time is very limited since he only emailed me early in the morning, so you might call and check on things. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help! :goodvibes I'm still waiting to hear back from chef Brian (e-mailed him at the weekend) I can't really phone until Sat due to the time difference, so if I haven't heard anything back from him I'll phone and speak to someone. I still have plenty of time, we only leave 5 weeks tomorrow!

Just finalized my cake order with Pat at the GF for our 9th wedding anniversary cake. It's a mad hatter style, with a tree branch going up the side, with fall colored leaves hanging off the tree, and miniature pumpkins as accents around the cake. Can't wait to see how it turns out!

Just called the Grand Floridian private dining to order a birthday cake for my DD. We are going to go with an 8" buttercream, vanilla on vanilla. Monsters Inc themed. Hoping to have smooth buttercream with the flower pattern from Boo's door around the sides of the cake, their choice on decorating the top but including Sully, Mike, Boo and Roz. We're just hoping to keep it under $75. Thanks for all the info and beautiful cake pictures on this thread. I never would have known it was possible to order a cake if it wasn't for this thread!

I am super excited that I was able to get a ressie at 'Ohana for my DH's birthday next week! I literally just got the reservation....WOW!

OK, so I'd LOVE to get him a custom cake with his favorite character - Hades. Will the GF make a custom cake and deliver it to 'Ohana? Do I have time? It's one week from today!!!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

Help! I have made 3 attempts to contact Yoly at Boardwalk Bakery. I have been given 3 different email addresses...none of them is correct. Private dining informed me, there are other guests with this problem:confused:

Also, I can't get CRT to send me an order form or respond to my messages! I had NO issues last year..why now!

Still deabting whether or not to order a cake for our October trip. I want a Halloween Haunted Mansion cake with Minnie in the theme. What do you all do with all the leftover cake... there are only 3 people in our group. Can Chef Brian do the cake and have it delivered to any restaurant we choose?

Thanks so much.:)

Not to many people positing cake pictures lately... So sad - I need my Disney cake fix!!

I'll post mine as soon as we are back - of course that won't be till 10/31

Can't wait!!!

Ok, so this thread is too huge to sort through. I am going to DL in December for my 20th birthday and want to get a special order cake. I need it to be small because its just two of us, but if I cant I will pay extra and share it. But I was really hoping there were DL cake pictures on here and prices and options too. Help?
