I absolutely love your minnie mouse cake!!!!! $143 seems good for a madhatter style with a painted minnie statue! I may have to go with the Boardwalk for my son's birthday cake next month......
Did you have the minnie cake at 1900 Park Fare? Did you pick it up at the Boardwalk and bring it over yourself?
Yes best price out of all the bakeries on property.Yes I did pick it up and take it with us to 1900 Park Fare.I ordered the cake from the Boardwalk Bakery not knowing for sure if we wanted it for dessert after one of our dinners or just to have it for our room (AKV Kidani 2 bedroom). When the cake was ready for pickup we decided we would bring it to the GF for our 1900 Park Fare dinner. We picked it up around 4:15pm on Thursday and while I was walking back up to the valet area I advised my wife to go up to the front desk and have them call 1900 PF to find out if we can bring it over early as our ressie was for 5:55 pm. My wife came into the car saying that nobody picked up the phone at 1900 PF and the people at the BW front desk said just go over it shouldn't be a problem...boy was that a wrong statement. We drive over to GF and I head inside cake in tow while everyone else stayed in the car. I walked right up to the 1900 PF check in desk and explain to the 3 ladies at the desk I just picked up the cake and would like to store the cake until our dinner.Well that's when I heard all about the FDA rule and that I'm bringing in a outside item..outside item I bought it from the BWB a Disney owned property just like the GF.They were telling me about peanut/dairy allergies and again the FDA rule but afraid of making a decision they called a manager. The manager came over and I explained the situation all over again and she started to explain what the 3 ladies expained at which point I stopped her in mid sentence telling her I heard it from the ladies. She then told me that if there was a empty refrigerator that would probably be the only way the Chef would store it.So she went to go see the Chef.Meanwhile I said to myself....WHAT...if there is a empty referigerator they might be able to store it for what I need at this point 1 hour of storage.I waited and then through the doors comes the manager and I could tell by her face she was afraid to tell me what she had to tell me as it wasn't going to be what I wanted to hear. She said there was no empty refrigerators so the Chef said no.Funny how this works, if I paid a $75 delievery charge (half the cost of the cake) they would have stored it with no problem (with no empty refrigerators
) even though the cake was "brought in from the outside" and not only that they would have brought it out after dinner as dessert as a surprise for everyone else in our party to enjoy.Instead I had to take the cake back to the room to put it into our refrigerator so we all could shower and get ready to go back for our 5:55pm ressie.Well we were late for dinner by about 25 mins and I had the cake in tow once again to notice that the ladies at 1900 PF check in were happy to see that the little issue didn't stop us from coming to dinner. As they seated us I asked our waitress Melissa (from our part of the country NY/NJ..
) if I could have a cake platter for the center of the table. She had heard about what had happened earlier as most of the staff did and was more than happy to help out.The wait staff was wonderful as they gave us extra plates, forks and when I asked for a cake sever I received 3 of them. We shared the cake with whomever wanted a piece.I was asked more than once if it was someone's birthday and if the cake came from the GF bakery.I told anyone who asked we are just celebrating being in Disney and proudly saying the cake was created by Chef Christy at the Boardwalk Bakery and I did walk it in.....Would I do it all over again.....YES...
like 30 mins ago. I'm hoping it turns out the way we are wanting it to look and taste. Fingers crossed we will soon find out. I will post pictures as soon as we get back or if I think of it I can post while we're down....stay tuned

Really? Is it REALLY that important what someone calls a cake? I just think that's kinda crazy to EVEN worry about something that small. It's not like anyone on HERE is actually selling the cakes.
Only a month to go!
