Official DISNEY Cake Chatter Thread - Part II

We just returned yesterday from the Wilderness Lodge. During our stay, my parents celebrated their 38th anniversary so I contacted Brian at the Contemporary for a special cake. I wanted an anniversary cake but something fun that my kids (ages 4 and 1.5) would get a kick out of.

I asked for a Mickey/Minnie theme with lots of colour, staying in my price range of $75. Brian was SO helpful during the ordering and exceeded my expectations with a 6", 4 layer chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling. It was covered in red fondant with white polka dots, a black Mickey and Minnie head on top, edible , black and yellow fondant balls around the base and a white chocolate banner on the bottom. My parents were so surprised when it arrived after dinner at the Whispering Canyon (where they made a big deal of the occassion thanks to our fantastic server Gepeto). Total price, $95 including gratuity and tax. Worth every penny!

I've just spent the last 1/2 hour trying to post a picture but am realizing now that I can't b/c I'm a new member. I barely have time to check my email so I can't see that I will reach the 10 posts minimum. Sorry Brian! I'd love to share your beautiful work with everyone but it looks like I can't! I'm disappointed- you are so talented!

To attach a photo you put the link to the photo in the body of the post. There isn't a option to add it. Do you have a photobucket account or something like photobucket? You get the link to past here from that photo stored in your account.

If you want to add it to a previous post, then click edit on that post and then paste the link to the photo in the body of your post.

Does that make sense? I hope so, sorry, it's hard to describe things sometimes Hopefully somebody else will be able to explain it a little better.

We are staying at BLT and I have emailed with Brian, He has been great.
I asked for a chocolate 6" cake with white buttercream.
Something Bay Lake Tower "modern Mickey" themed - some kind of modern hidden Mickey celebration pattern.
Colors: "Mickey" colors - red, golden yellow, white, black
Words: "Happy 20th Anniversary Neil and Bonnie" in a pretty cursive
No fondant.
Around $60 range if possible.

Can't wait to hear back from him!

Let me know what he responds!! I was thinking of something around the same lines. There will only we 3 of us and I do not want a huge cake. Your requests sound similar to mine. Are you having this delivered to the room or at a resturant? I heard the smallest delivered to the room is 10 inches. I was hoping for a room delivery, but could do it at a resturant is needed. Good luck!!
