Does anyone know how you move a dining reservation with a cake order attached. show I contact dining or the cake order line or both.

I have the Wave booked with a special order cake for my graduating son. He has just announced he doesn't like the menu so I'm considering changing to Artists Point.

Disney doesn't move dining reservations - they cancel them and book a new one. Fortunately, the same pastry team would make the cake if you are dining at Wilderness Lodge. All you have to do is call Private Dining at the Contemporary and tell them to change the delivery location from The Wave to Artist Point, with the new date and time. Then be sure to call back a day or two before and confirm they have the correct info.

Looking back at the first post, it states that you pay for the cake upon arrival. My card has already been charged. Is that unusual? And how/when do I tip for the cake??

It seems like the Grand Floridian has been charging the cake in advance lately, but the other places still charge upon delivery. If the cake is delivered to your room, a gratuity will automatically be applied. If it's delivered to a restaurant, you can put the tip on the bill. In both cases, the tip doesn't actually go to the pastry team, though - it goes to the person who brings you the cake.

I am working on a delivery for our room at Pop for the end of April, and I was told that I would be billed at the beginning of April for the cake. They will call to confirm the details on April 6th.

We have a cake coming to WCC in May and we were told it would just be added to our bill that night at the restaurant. Does this mean we will get to apply any discount we use for the meal....we have AP and Disney Visa....to the cost of the cake as well?

Yes, you will. We were able to use our TIW discount in December.

Just know that when you use Tables In Wonderland on the cake, they also automatically include an 18% gratuity on the price of the cake. So if you paid $100 for your meal and another $100 for your cake, you'd pay a $36 gratuity. The only way around this is to ask a manager to adjust the tip amount, which can be pretty uncomfortable.

Just wanted to post a picture of the cake I ordered for my daughters birthday. This thread was very helpful with my planning! Ordered through the beach club and delivered to our room. I asked for something "flower and garden themed". So very happy with how it turned out. I think the final price for this 8" cake was $115 (although I haven't seen the receipt!)

I am trying to have a custom birthday cake done for my sister for during our CRT dinner next month. I emailed the magic kingdom cakes address and they got back to me but only supplied the basic round cakes with screen prints. It seems from the email that this is the only options - which from seeing this thread I know is not true. Should I respond back with more of what I am looking for to this email? Or am I using the wrong email for a custom cake at CRT? Thanks all!

I REALLY love this cake. The Minnie mouse head that's supposed to look like a plant and all the beautiful flowers show so much creativity! I've seen some misses and some hits, and this was definitely a hit!

Yeah, it's this dumb little dance they make you do now instead of contacting the Contemporary directly from the start. Write back and tell them you were hoping for something more custom, including some inspiration photos. Then they'll "let" you work with the Contemporary's pastry team directly.

I love all of the cakes...they are all so wonderful. My husband and I were married at Disney World and we are going back for our 10 year anniversary next month. I wanted to surprise him with a cake but having a hard time deciding on one lol.

Congratulations! One idea that's popular with Disney couples is to have them re-create the top tier of your wedding cake. If you order from the Grand Floridian, the Private Dining contact can usually pull your wedding BEO to get the design info. Or you can just send them a photo.

Is it possible to order and pay for a cake to be delivered to somebody else's dining table ?

I'm wanting to send my nephew one of those small Pirate treasure chest cakes to his breakfast reservation as a surprise, but I don't want their table billed for it. I know they are just a generic box cake, but he would just be so happy.

They will be dining at Tusker House for breakfast in one week.

Zebra Dome cake from Animal Kingdom Lodge this past January. It was beyond delicious! I added chocolate covered strawberries to the order

This is SO cool - I'm going to copy this for our September trip as a welcome cake! Did you do the kahlua/coffee filling or something custom? I think I'd like to do like a Chocolate cake & strawberry filling with the zebra dome design if I can
