I've been really sick with a stomach virus for the past couple of days. And my husband would not come home from work to help me. My family lives an hour away, so they couldn't help me either. The kids basically destroyed the house. Threw toys, clothes, food wrappers, etc. everywhere.... Last night, I was feeling so weak (still am), I was just sitting watching the end of A Lot Like Love. He's getting ready to leave for work, sits down to put his boots on and starts screaming at me about the house saying WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?!?! Then he started on me (for what has to be at least the third time) about how I need to have my thyroid checked because I have all the signs of hypothyroidism. Um, no, I don't. Then he says he's going to bump off of his job where he is working away from home every other day back to his old one where he works M-F 8am-8pm and home every weekend.

I was hysterical crying and couldn't reach my parents, grandma, sister or friends on the phone. Finally, my sister called me back (she was feeding her baby when I was calling). I talked to my mom later on, and she said that today we would look into some of the schools in her area and try to figure something out. My grandma has a vacant apartment in her 3-flat, so I can live there if I want to. It is next door to my parents and two floors above my sister.

Michelle, I am so sorry things just get worse for you....the apartment near your family sounds good though. I think you will feel so much better there and safe, near your family. Please pm me if you ever need to talk. I am always happy to listen.

Thank you, Nichole. You're such a good friend. I'm trying to figure out what to do about the girls with school. I was hoping to keep them in their school until next semester. But I have to do what I have to do.

I know it will be hard with the school change in the middle of the year...but you and your girls need to be safe. And I am always here.....

I just keep reminding myself how things usually seem so much more difficult than they actually are. You know how you dread having to do something and then when you actually do it, it wasn't so bad? Hopefully that's how this will be.

Yep I know what you mean...and then you think why did I waste all that time and energy worrying and now its over ....And for you it will be a positive change when it all settles down.

...how awful.....sorry if it seemed like I 'disappeared' yesterday...my 'puter decided, as usual, to 'take a powder'.... ...PLUS, I had to paint my powder room/bathroom....I stripped the old wallpaper off the walls, repainted the top of the walls, the ceiling, and the trim, and we re-wallpapered it...my DH and I worked till almost 1AM and I am now 'draggin' my buttola, but it does look pretty awesome!


I think it'll be [just like my bathroom] a fresh new start, being nearer your family,with your old friend nearby.....as far as the kids, well, they are pretty resilient - we sometimes don't give them the credit they deserve.....(hey, and I noticed your countdown thingie..... )

Wanted to give you a big hug and tell you that it is becoming more common for familes to switch schools in the Spring than ever before. So in your case a little sooner . The kids only have a partial year at their new school, so they get the lay of the land, and still have their previous school's grades to help them out too. Plus if you switch soon since there is a smaller # of new students entering at this time, it is a little easier to get the text books etc. I know moving is a pain, the utilities, the bussing, all the change of addresses, not to mention being without a computer for several days. But I think you will have a lot more support, or at least I hope so. Did you talk to your family and make sure they are going to be there to help you?
