OH MY! You hadn't seen Troy??? Major curls!!! :faint: I LOVE him in Troy!
I know I am a little slow on the movie scene. It was funny the character that tore me up the most was Hector. I was bawling so hard when he died. To me he seemed the only one with any sense. I didn't even realize that it was well over 2 hours I was so engrossed. Though the mostly nude Brad scenes and the Orlando one didn't hurt any........ :faint:

ITA! I loved Eric Bana as Hector  and was bawling when he died, too. I was so mad! :furious: The movie goes by so fast, it doesn't seem that long. It's one of my dd's favorite movies, and she's 5. Yeah, I'm a bad mom.

Yeah. I went back and forth as to whether I liked Achilles. I hated him when he killed Hector. But Achilles seemed so doomed that you felt a little sorry for him. We were looking over some articles about Homer's Iliad and the differences between it and the movie. It was interesting. I had forgot most of what I had read of the Iliad since that was back in high school. And I don't think your a bad mom for letting you DD watch it. :)

The Iliad is so different. I think it's interesting they chose not to show the gods. That could have been so cool. :confused3 Lots of changes, but that's showbiz, right? I still really love the movie. And thanks for not thinking I'm a bad mom. Julia loves Orlando so much. There is no swearing. Yes, there's some nudity, but that does not bother me. I was concerned mostly about the violence, but it simply brought up a lot of questions about war which I thought was interesting.

She also likes Elizabethtown, but not near as much as Troy. Did you see that yet?

No I haven't seen Elizabethtown yet. I want to though. I was surprised that for an R rated movie Troy wasn't that bad. I have seen worse rated PG-13. The movie does have it's violence but you also get to see how it impacted families and cizilizations. I don't care for violence just for the sake of violence but I did not think that was the case with this movie.

Do you like sappy romantic comedies? If so, you will like Elizabethtown. I loved it.

Does this mean you have not seen "The Calcium Kid" and the great Jimmy Connelly?
