Again, continuity made the sauce an "incorrect" color. My DH and I both noticed that!
Wow -- a linguist and a gourmet chef. Go figure we had such talent on this thread.

If the OP doesn't want helpful suggestions, she shouldn't ask for them. I point it out, and if she doesn't want to do things correctly, thats on her.
She was looking for suggestions about the show, not grammar, spelling, sytax, etc.

Cindy B said:
I will still correct it until its correct.
You go ahead and do that ... and we'll sit back and watch as everyone lambastes Ms. Perfect. This is a message board, not a college course. Give me some slack ... I'm allowed a few typos on a message board.

BTW -- are we being graded on this?!?!

there are 2 s's in guess and only 2 r's in corrections

I guess me typing at about 75 words per minute is important as well. I don't correct others spelling, maybe I should start with yours as well.

Mu shu pork is not gourmet. If that is gourmet to you, you need to get out more.

If others are allowed for mistakes in the actual post is fine, but the blantant use of Charmay is not.

You used it continously in your prior post. I just cringed at the blantant mistake. I'm sure you did it to be passive agressive of course.

Actually, it's 'my typing' and not 'me typing'... :teeth:

Again, I don't correct you, so don't go there with me. I'm concerned with the characters spelling.

I could correct your posts as well. But I don't. So don't go there. How fast do you type words per minute? I'm sure not 75.

So you can dish it out but you can't take it, huh? Funny. :lmao:

I can go where ever I want since it is a public board and you started this whole thing. Mispronunciation bothers you so much, we'll maybe saying 'me typing' rather than 'my typing' bothers me. To each their own. If you can correct posters for your reasons, so can anyone else for whatever reason they want to. If it's alright for you to correct others, than we can correct you as well.

I type 60 words a minute, not that has anything to do with this thread at all. Who cares? Not me.

I'm not sure why you posted that. There has been no warnings. However, this could all be solved if people typed the characters names correctly.

I gues others don't care about correctness.

I don't need an 8 point sermon on obvious mistakes. I mentioned the health dept. and the misspelling or mispronunciation.
Well how about correctness of your OWN misspellings? Why have you not addressed ANYONE on this board about our posts about them?
Cindy B said:
Charmay= Xiou me or something like that. If you saying it in English, it would be Charmin, or Charmain and that does not sound like her name.

The nosy busybody in the recap was the same person that babysat Lynnette kids when Bree was an alcoholic. That is different from the character from Lakeview Drive (Laurie Metcalf)

The first one is Wisteria Drive-- she played Ms. Langingham in West Wing.

Did you even mention that Gaby and Carlos go to Chinatown area and look for Xiou Me? Who knew that the Wisteria Lane town had a Chinatown? Anyway, they go to Chinatown and Gaby goes to a specific restaurant. Gaby then asks a waitress/owner about Xiou Me. The waitress/owner who is holding a tray of food states that she talked to Xiou Me and that Xiou Me stated that Gaby threatened her with deportation. (Gaby did). Gaby tried to weasel her way out of that but Carlos looked shocked. There was a verbal exchange between waitress/owner and Gaby. Gaby eventually stated that she could call the health dept to have them look at the restaurant. The next shot you see is Gaby and Carlos leaving the restaurant and Gaby has a lot of food on her shirt. (implied that the waitress/owner threw the tray at Gaby)

Also when Edie was showing the Young house to two impeccable men, (which would be a fantastic storyline, BTW) she is talking about storage in the house. Edie opens up the closet and find Xiou Me there eating sandwiches.

On of the few last scenes shows Gaby and Xiou Me back in the house with Gaby waiting on her.

Just for clarification, I went to imdb.com to find out how to spell Xiou Me's name correctly. I went to Gwendolyn Yeo's bio (the person who plays the Xiou Me character) and this is how the character was spelled..... Xiao-Mei

Xiao-Mei is the correct spelling. Most boards I frequent just abbreviate is a XM.
Cindy B said:
If it were my name, I'd be offended by the absoluete butchering of Charmaine instead of Xiou-Mei.
BTW, I hate to be such a stickler :rolleyes1 BUT, "absoluete' is spelled: absolute.

Why have you not answered two of us who asked if YOU are going to post the next recap instead of Christmas Elf?

It's interesting how you selectively post to what you want to, which is the mistakes of others, but not your own.

What we care about here is treating someone (Christmas Elf) who contributed positively to this thread with gratitude.

I've ask for that myself. :thumbsup2

In order for that to happen and to get back to DH and away from "Queen of the Written Word Hour on the Dis," the post of correction and self importance will have to simply be ignored. It's actually easy - instead of hitting reply just do this... :rotfl:

To each his own. If it bothers Cindy so much, then as far as I'm concerned, that's her problem. But if we add to it by feeding those post then this thread is taking a turn far away from DH and is heading toward being locked instead. I'm not sure that's not the intent here anyway with the constant digs at others by one individual.

I am beginning to think that we need to start a new Desperate Housewives thread and add in the title that grammatical mistakes will be allowed!

That way those that are so against us common folk posting a few mistakes can stay with the original thread. Because we know that all the mistakes have and will be pointed out in the future :confused3

I was also beginning to wonder if we were going to get locked because we have gone way off track. Who cares how it is spelled??? I and I think everyone else on this thread knows who Christmas Elf is referring to in the recaps.

Back to the show - loved this weeks episode. The strawberry smoothie all over Jane was hilarious. Do you ever think Susan's character will become less flakey?

I also got a real kick out of Gabby and the "Su Me" line!

Can't wait for Sunday.

Why yes, we are. Right now you're hovering around a B- ;) :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I didn't see Bree's daughter either. Perhaps she was shipped off to finishing school or something?

I have to agree. I've been with this thread since DH started, and it's a great reference back to past episodes. I do not want this thread locked, and apparently neither does anyone else, but if we continue to "counter-attack" Cindy, that is exactly what is going to happen. Sometimes the best comeback is none at all. Let her complain and point out errors.....she will eventually realize nobody is going to address her issues and not even bother. We should be focusing on the topic at hand....DH :thumbsup2 .
CindyB: you are more than welcome to discuss DH here with us, however, nobody likes to be criticized. We all come to relax and enjoy conversation, we like to leave spelling, grammar, "correctness" to the day job where it matters.....that's all.

And I just changed the title of this thread.
