I think
someone on the show
had to be a SAHM....you have married Lynette, divorced, single Susan & Edie (what the deal is with her boy's Dad, we don't know), Bree, happily married (well, sorta), Gabby, married and wants NO kids....I think the show was about the
different types of "housewives" and the different "walks of life" they have. If it wasn't Lynette, the writers would have put someone else in the SAHM now working Mom role/storyline. I'm not offended....I'm just glad
I don't have to be in that situation because I couldn't imagine...and sadly, there are real Moms who's life is exactly like hers...

Does the storyline need to move on?? ...absolutely!! People watch tv
I agree, while I am offended or at least bothered by the lynette story (because it is the one closest to my life) I think it is exagerated too much. Always one extreme or the other. They both have more choices then the show presents for the sake of covering the boadest spectum of mothers of young kids struggles. Then again I only have the 2 kids, both girls (pretty well bahaved) and none are twins. I dont' think I take myself as serousily either. (btw, part time working can be a great thing, something they haven't expolred and the kids are mostly in school now, why not have her work part time for a family friendly place, or better yet herself , and DH full time and both win a little?) They sell the situation short for the sake of drama and desperation (hense the name.)
