***Official December 2017 thread!

I am trying to decide between a Dec 18th-22nd 2017 trip or a late January 2018 trip!

We just got back from a late January trip and it was great! But I really want to experience WDW at Christmas! My only hesitation is the crowd levels. We had great luck with crowds most days, and it really did make a difference.

QUESTION OF THE DAY:

What are your top 3 Table Service and Top 3 Counter Service Restaurants?
I KNOW this is the impossible question, but we are going to pretend that we are all going on a 3 day trip and we need 2 places to eat each day on property and no reservations needed!
---------------------

Table Service:

1. Spice Road Table (The food + The service)
2. Sci-Fi Dine In (The Ambiance)
3. Sanaa (Food + Ambiance + Service)

Counter Service:
1. Be Our Guest (Food + Ambiance)
2. Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie (Food + Ambiance)
3. Harambe Market (All of the everything! This place I could eat at daily!)

Table Service:
1. Narcoossee's - great food and Wishes on the patio
2. The Wave - great food
3. Olivia's - ambiance and it's at OKW

Counter Service:
1. Wolfgang Pucks Express - the pizza is great
2. Yorkshire Co. Fish Shoppe - wife has to have it every time
3. Yak and Yeti Local Food Cafes - food/price - hint: chicken fried rice is a snack (3.95) and is plenty for a person

Sorry for the delay everyone, we went out of town for the weekend, but I am slowly catching up!!!

QUESTION OF THE DAY:
What is Your Favorite WDW Snack Food When You Are In The Parks?
----------------------------

Mine is a Mickey Rice Krispy Treat!

Me - Crème cheese pretzel
DS14 - Churro
DS6 - Mickey pretzel
DW - Cupcakes

The week before Christmas is amazing, because many people don't want to take their kids out of school right before the big break that they get. We have done it before and are doing it again this year :)

Table Service:
1) V&A (Haven't been here in FOREVER but it still stands out at the best meal we've ever had.)
2) Garden Grill
3) Crystal Palace

Counter Service:
1) Columbia Harbor House
2) Boulangerie Patisserie les Halles
3) It used to be Pecos Bill's until they changed the menu. Now I guess I would say the Backlot Express maybe...

Question of the Day!
Do you park hop or not and why?
----------------------------------------------

My answer is - it depends. The first few days we are there we tend not to. We pick one of the recommended parks and stick with it. As we get later into the trip that when we will start park hopping. It might be due to a park getting really crowded or maybe we're just not feeling that park we're in that day.

What is your favorite ride in each park?

AK: Kilimanjaro Safari
EP: Well I would choose Hoizons, Kitchen Kabaret, or Journey into Imagination if any of them still existed. Since none of them do I don't think I have a favorite. If I had to choose I guess it would be Journey into Imagination with Figment since no trip is complete without seeing Figment.
DS: Rockin Roller Coaster
MK: Mickey's Philharmagic - It's a must do for me every trip

I have us booked, Dec 20- Jan2. But we just found out a few hours ago, that my daughter was accepted into the Disney College Program August 2017- January 2018. So who knows now!!

What fun, I did the program and absolutely loved it that I extended twice! I'm still best friends with all of my roommates and we have all travelled to meet up a couple times. My parents and I took a big vacation to the WORLD when they dropped me off and then they came in the middle of my stay and once again we vacationed at the end :) It was so much fun to see them. I had one roommate stay for good in the management program and to this day, 100 years later has one of the best jobs on property and absolutely loves working for the mouse!

Congratualtions to your DD! My oldest is going then too!! She is custodial.
So far we have august and thanksgiving booked, and I've said for a year (since she started talking about applying :) ) that we will be there over Christmas too. Don't care if it is crowded! Looking at 12/22 or 23 - 12/30 or 12/31 (mostly offsite-maybe a few days at start onsite to get FP+ booking and EMH and being able to go to MK on Christmas day-even if only an a few hours).
