I believe after reading the opinions here on the board I will forego the MVMCP and do Marceline tour instead.

I too am sad Osborne Christmas lights are gone. I always enjoyed them and searching for where the black cat was hidden each year!

I talked to my family about MVMCP now that the prices are out and thankfully they all agree with me; the price tag isn't worth it. Phew! I was worried they'd be disappointed.

I've been to both MNSSHP and MVMCP, though many years ago when there was less people and tickets were only $60 or $70. I just can't stomach paying as much as they are charging now and it's only 2 of us! More parties each year higher prices, and less MK park time for those that don't want to attend with larger crowds.

We will be doing a long weekend trip most likely December 7-10. That leaves us a Saturday to go to MK, unless we want to only spend the morning there. I'm seriously thinking we may just skip MK. Just spend 2 days at DAK and one in Epcot. This will be our last trip until the 50th, so I was hoping for one more day at MK.

We are going December 17-27th this year and am still debating about the MVMCP. I have wanted to see it for years but with the exchange we are looking at almost 1K for the 6 of us. We will be there throughout the Christmas season, will we get to see most of what would be offered at the party?

Debating between that and seeing Cirque du Soleil before it goes...

We're not doing Universal but you have peaked my interested with the HP Christmas stuff. I've heard of the Grinchmas stuff but not HP. I think my kids are just a little too young for Universal. Well my 7yo would be fine but my 4yo wouldn't be able to do as much.

We loved Cabana Bay last time we went, but we'll be in the parks on the 24th, 25th, and 26th, so we needed the Express Passes. You'll have a blast at that hotel. I'll miss the Starbucks in the lobby.

We stayed there for our trip last October and loved it! Plus, we're going back this October, so the extra days in early December (which is fairly slow to begin with) are kind of bonus days so we didn't feel the need for the Express passes.

We didn't need them last time whatsoever, but according to crowd calendars the days we're there are going to be absolutely insane, so it was essential this trip.

Completely understandable, but if you could work it into the budget to just check out for a day and see all the Grinchmas and HP Christmas stuff I think your kids would be fine. My 2 year old nephew was able to go on I think all but 1 ride in Seuss Landing. If you guys like HP, along with the new Christmas stuff, you can enjoy all of Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley. The little one wouldn't be able to ride Forbidden Journey or Escape from Gringott's, but you could still walk through as a family. They do have rider swap for those rides. I actually prefer Universal's rider swap over Disney's.

My husband, two daughters, and I will officially be going Dec. 9-15. We will be staying at WL for the first time, and we're so excited! This will also be our first time being at WDW for during the Christmas season, so we're really looking forward to seeing all the decorations.

Our December dates have changed. We are at POR December 22-29. My parents can't come so we are able to go switch so kids don't miss school and we will all fit in one room!

I do have one question for those who have participated in MVMCP, in your honest opinion is it worth the extra dollars? Thanks!

Yes, Yes, and YES! Our total is over 500.00 as all of our kids are Disney Adults at the time (12,11,10) and we bought them opening day. Even if they continued to raise in price, we would do it, we even like it more than the MNSSHP!
