*~~Official December 2016 Thread~~*

Hi! Just finding this thread! We are going to Poly/AKL for a split stay 12/15- 12/22! We are attending the party 12/18. Can't wait!

Does anyone have an inkling or insight from years past if Star Wars fireworks will be going on in December and when they might be posted? First-timer over here trying to plan and going crazy!

Any thoughts on Raglan Road? Or any other Disney Springs restaurants that a 4yo and 6yo might like? We are going to eat at Disney Springs the day of our MVMCP. Debating about booking a lunch ADR somewhere or just doing QS.

I haven't been to RR, but both Rainforest Cafe and T-Rex tend to be very popular with kids. Lots of cool theming, animatronics, and sound effects going on the whole time.

My experience with Raglan Road is limited to reading posts where people rave about it on here. It's very popular, but we've never been. We have a T-Rex locally (kind of, three hours away driving, so closer than a flight, lol!) that we go to every once in awhile, and I've done Rainforest in the past a few times (most recently at Disneyland)...those can both be fun if your kids aren't afraid of loud noises. The food is ok, but the atmosphere is really cool! I wish my house looked like a TRex or a Rainforest Cafe...minus the noise!!

There are so many things to choose from in Downtown Disney now that it's overwhelming! We never plan to spend more than part of a day there usually, but on our future trips it's going to have to be more of a focus where dining is concerned.

So it looks like Raglan Road only has the dancers & music at night or on weekends so I guess that's out. Definitely on the list for next time but this trip I can't fit it in at night. My dd would love the dancers.

I thought about Trex but dd scares easily. My son would love it though. There's a Rainforest Cafe about an hour from here. We were supposed to go with family a few weeks ago but plans changed. I was curious to see how dd did there. I think I'll setup a reservation finder for T-Rex. I feel like she may be scared at first but we could explain to her that it's not real & she might be fine after that.

Are you on the dining plan or paying OOP? Boathouse seems interesting and some lunch items are pretty reasonable :) for t-Rex, the recommendation on these boards is to call them and they have plenty of availability :)

good tip on T-Rex!

You're right - they don't give Disney all of the reservations, so if you can't get one through the Disney website, call them, they probably have availability.

In addition to the LGMH or the bandana idea mentioned by pinkgirlmommy, in the past my groups have made an instagram hashtag (#disteamaug for example) for everyone to follow during the month of our trips. One group even picked a photo spot (the tiki guys in adventureland) to take a family pic/kid pic/selfie/whatever to share on Facebook or here whenever we were traveling.

Thanks! I didn't know that about T-Rex. Im going to call tomorrow & see what they have. I'm on the dining plan. My sil is going to the boathouse this week. I'll have to see how they liked it.

My daughter was scared of the dinosaurs and loudness at Trex too, but we asked to sit at a quieter table and she was fine. Just ask to be seated either near the fish tank or in the ice room.

Just found this thread! 12/9-12/12 (short) mother/Daughter ONLY sweet 16 trip! Over the moon excited! GF/PORRR split stay. Bought MVMCP tix for 12/9. What else do we HAVE to do?
