Is anyone doing the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party? We're considering it to get more MK time and character meet and greet time!

We'll be doing 2 nights. We do 1 for the merch and 1 for the exclusive meet & greets. Then after we get both of those out of the way, we enjoy the zero wait time lines, the late parade and the free ho-cho and cookies.

And sorry about the bad advice. I always thought the +10 days went the other way.

And I'm serious about the zero wait time lines. You will see empty log after empty log on Splash Mtn, and the see people getting logs to themselves. Makes for a great ride photo. You don't have to worry about blocking the people's behind you, face. And it will take you longer to walk through the chains at Pirates of the Caribbean, than you will in line.

this sounds so fab. We have 6 park days and so were wondering how to best allocate them all. With all the Frozen stuff coming to Epcot I am scared that it will be impossible to Fastpass + Anna and Elsa (and I assume their replacement princesses at Princess Fairytale Hall in MK) so I am thinking of the Christmas party as insurance against that (DD is 6 so you can guess what her priorities are...LOL). Also it might save us a super early morning at MK if we know we can just ride the rides we want at the Christmas party. With all the horror stories I hear about 7DMT and PP lines, this is another strategy I think will work for our family. I told DD if she wants to do this she has to drop a character meal and she happily agreed to drop 1900 Park Fare dinner. This also solves the problem of trying to get a PPO BOG reservation and we'll switch to lunch instead where the menu is better and we won't feel super rushed to finish our meal! Do you think the party will work if we do early morning rope drop at Hollywood Studios?

I would do a partial day at DHS with a break/nap for her. I know she probably doesn't nap anymore, but going and going from rope drop till midnight is most likely not going to work. We learned the hard way our first trip when my niece flipped out on Main Street USA one night. She was fine/loved staying up really late after that as long as she had a rest in the day.

Yes, we will be doing the party. I've been years ago and loved the parade and fireworks, not to mention the snow on Main Street (magical). I would love to get a pic with the dwarfs and maybe Jack for my H, but shorter attraction lines are a plus.

I'm there from December 17-23rd and I'm kinda torn about it. Dec 20th is my birthday and I'm thinking about a Wishes private cruise one night. I have never seen Christmas Wishes or the Christmas parade and I thought they would be a regular happening that week. With the parties extended until the 22nd, I won't get a chance to see them on a non-party night, so I'm thinking about the party for the 22nd, which I'm sure will be packed. Certainly will get me into the Christmas Spirit so I'm probably going to bite the bullet and get tickets for my extended family.

Yes we would do rope drop (or EMH if it falls that way) for HS and try to get everything done in the morning, have lunch at 50's prime time cafe, and then head back to the resort for nap/pool time and then head over to MK for the party. Kind of off topic but can you do HS in 4 hours? We're just there to do the Star Wars stuff (meet and greet, launch bay, Jedi training) and a few rides (TSMM, Rock and Roller Coaster, Star Tours, Great movie ride) and then the Frozen and Beauty and the Beast show. I'm wondering if it's enough time.

We booked our trip December 4th - December 11th! Mother/Daughter trip with 8 of us going! 4 moms and 4 Daughters. At this point we are booked at ASSp however we may be changing that to POP. I'm really undecided! I love Sports its the resort we have gone to since I was younger but are unsure about the pop warner. We have never been during a cheerleading comp!

Even as a grown up, it is a long night. We usually use our MVMCP day as a pool/drinks by the pool/sit in the hottub/laid back-day or we get breakfast at Kona Cafe (Tonga Toast RULES!!!!!) and then ride the monorail to take in the decorations at the the other monorail resorts (love the gingerbread constructs). And in either case, we go back to the room to get a couple hrs of Z's. Because the later you can stay, the shorter the lines get.

And, also, with your MVMCP ticket, you can enter the park any time after 4pm. Which I recommend (4:01pm). You get in, get your bracelet, and then don't have to go to the front of the park or other designated areas to get your bracelet after the fact. Because, the cast-members have been getting a lot more diligent at looking for the bracelets once the Castle lighting show ends.

I'm a former cheer aunt (she's in college now) and have been to countless cheer comps over the years. Unless I was there to watch my niece, I wouldn't want to be in the same hotel with hundreds of cheerleaders. They will be practicing anywhere they can find space and will be loud because, honestly, they are mostly young girls and they tend to not be quiet. As much as you have loved ASSP in the past, you most likely will not love it as much at this time. POP is a fun resort and AOA is nice too if you are looking for another value resort.

We changed from CSR to POR for our dates. Trying to avoid sharing a hotel with Pop Warner. I can not wait!

I changed my dates again (last time, I promise!) to 11/27-12/3. We're still at Pop, it looks like we'll only overlap Pop Warner by one night, if that, so I'm staying put.

Current plans:
11/27 evening arrival, dinner at Pop
11/28 EPCOT, Garden Grill breakfast, Candlelight Processional
11/29 Cape May breakfast, tour EPCOT resorts, lunch at Beaches and Cream, MVMCP
11/30 Universal, dinner offsite or Raglan Road
12/1 Magic Kingdom, BoG breakfast, Pirates League, Pirates and Pals (hopefully!)
12/2 Animal Kingdom, Tusker House breakfast
12/13 depart

I'm hoping for a Pirate's and Pals from GF during our stay!!! Couldn't get a reservation on our last trip. This time I have plenty of advance notice! (Booked 65 days out in '15)
I've debated pirates league since we will have his pirate costume from our cruise. He's doing BBB on pirate's night so I don't know if twice is overkill.

My son is finally old enough for Pirate's League, so we're doing both the same day (hopefully). It's a MCMVP night, so we'll leave after dinner and walk to the Contemp. There are only two nights on our trip that are open for it, so fingers crossed the dates work out!

Oh fun! I made a mistake.. We're not doing Pirates and pals.. I'm looking for a pirate's adventure cruise in the morning. We're staying at the contemporary and also going to head back on an MCVP night to have dinner and then watch holiday wishes from our room. The Pirate's and Pals looks really neat! I'm not letting my son know it exists though..lol

Ah, yeah my son isn't old enough for that one - I wish! I'd love to have a little downtime to shop or lounge by the pool. I'm definitely not telling him about either experience though, at least until I have them both booked!

We stayed at Poly last trip and the pirate adventure cruise stops there. My son got so excited seeing them and asked to do it as well. I told him that I tried, but was unable to get a reservation. I'm determined to get it this time!!!!
I know that Pirates and Pals leaves from CR..so going to avoid the dock area around those times ;)
