*** Attention XLSM & other Dec DISers ***

Ordinarily, if I had to add to something that I had recently mentioned, I'd just edit the existing post. But this is kind of important.

I was clicking around the Pop Warner site and I found the dates of this yr's Super Bowls and cheer and dance competition. According to the site's calendar, here are the dates.

Sat Dec 3rd - Sat Dec 10th.

I'll add this info to the first post, under the December travelers, since it's something people are often concerned with. Thank you!! :-):-)

Would anyone recommend not going at this time? Is it really bad with Pop Warner there? I know there are no low crowd times anymore, but we are trying not to hit a too crowded time. Also is it true that Pop Warner stays at CS? That is our hotel. Should we try to change hotels?

BDL talks about his experience HERE

This is our first trip in December, but from what I hear, the kids don't affect the parks as much as they do the resorts. I know they stay at the All Stars, and sometimes a few specific mods, but I don't know exactly.

I'm sure someone will chime in soon to ease your mind!! I wouldn't worry too much, though, especially if you're dead set on your dates :-):-)

In my opinion, I wouldn't let Pop Warner cause me to change dates, but if I was afraid about them overtaking the resort, that's where I might make a change. BUT not unless I really thought they'd be there.

Hi Everyone,:wave2:
We'll be at POFQ for actually Christmas EVE thru NYE. :jumping1:

I cannot wait to be celebrating Christmas with the Mouse.
My Adult dd is a teacher and this is the only time she has off and we would like to go to Disney (besides our trip off site in April:dance3:) as a family. Soooo Christmas it is. Our dates are December 24th to January 2nd.

BTW my DD and i have been the week between Christmas and New Years and it has been a blast. I was so worried about crowds(yes it was packed) but everyone was very courteous and there definitively was a different(good) vibe from other months in the parks. We spent NYE in Epcot and it was so much fun! We'll be going back this NYE:woohoo::goodvibes

Will the Christmas parade and Holiday wishes still be on for those dates ?

Does anyone know if there are any special dining experiences for any of the restaurants on Christmas Day? besides a surcharge:rolleyes1 Anything i should look out for? or do we make ressies as we would any other time?

This is a great thread!!

Thank You:D

Hello all!

Heading to the world December 18-23rd for a special birthday celebration. Wanted to stay at the Poly for some sentimental value, but opted to stay at the Dolphin with Starpoints in a executive suite instead. Using the money I saved to come up with every possible celebration I have never done! This includes:

Wishes cruise (if still available) with California grill dinner prior on my birthday

Candlelight processional

River of Lights dinner package (if available)

Going to MVMCP on the 18th. If the Christmas parties go to the 22nd, I assume on the 20th (my birthday), this will be regular Wishes?

Can't wait!

Well sign us up!!!!
We are going to visit right after Christmas and although the anticipated capacity has me quite nervous, WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY!!!

Staying 12/28-1/3 with about 8 family members. CAN NOT WAIT. I'm excited to see it all decked out for the holidays again. It's been 10 years since we've been at Christmas time.

Already got my spreadsheets going! :surfweb:

Ugh. I am so impatient. I started planing this years trip earlier then normal, not having an sort of park hours calendar out yet is killing me!:furious:

I hear ya! I starting planning my December 2016 vacation in October 2015. Waiting for anything to happen has been the worst! I was hoping when MVMCP ticket dates were released we would hear about when tickets so on sale.

But now, thankfully in the next couple months the following will happen:
Park Hours
Crowd Calendars
Discounts released
MVMCP tickets on sale
ADRs

Then I'll have to wait again until FP+. I need something to do other than play around with 20 different park strategy options!

Do they mostly stay at the value resorts?

Do they mostly stay at the value resorts?

According to their info package from 2014 and 2015, they had to stay at:

All-Stars
Caribbean Beach
Coronado Springs

Not sure if it will stay the same this year, but wanted to give you a heads up. If you are at those resorts, you will likely see and hear cheerleaders practicing often or just a bunch of excited girls.

We'll be at the contemporary.. Nothing against cheerleaders, but yeah, I'd rather not deal with that while on vacation.lol
Thanks for the info!! :)

Since i park hop, i have layout a little plan saying, i need to go here to this park so many time, and all the other ones so many times. Since i have the MVMCP dates iv figured out it will be a park free day, and narrowed down the morning and afternoon plan for myself and then one first timer and then 2 that haven't been since 1992. So i have been keeping my self a bit busy

dates are the same, but we are now booked at POP, still doing 2 rooms as our 2 girls are the only kids going but with them, we need a bit of extra room/bathrooms! :) saw the possible FD dates and got a bit excited and now IF we can get it, where we stay will depend on what is available. I do have to say I really love CBR but if we end up staying at POP, I am fine with that too....now to go check out the prices for 1 room with tickets for my DS and his GF. they are now deciding they may want to make the trip down too-I may have to look into putting the memory maker in his name and link us all as he will check in 2 days before us....not bad to have 3 of my 4 kids coming with(the 4th has college wrestling trip in Puerto Rico).

It's official...

I've put down my deposit, and have my confirmation code to plug into My Disney Experience on my iPad at home. About another 6 weeks, I'll be able to start booking our ADR's (speaking of dining anyone else hoping their vaca falls under FD?). And around that time, the prices for MVMCP should come out and hopefully whispers of the celebs that will be doing Candlelight Processional will start coming out.

It's finally real. We are going on vacation at Disney World, at Christmas time. Looking at the snow(p) fall on Main St. USA makes even the most hardened heart swell.

Can't wait to get there. Hope to meet some of you down there. I'll be the 6' 300 lbs Irish looking guy, wearing either a Bruins or Patriots shirt.

Now, it's time concept how I want to compose my PTR.

CAN'T WAIT!!!!!! party:

Yay! Congrats!!!! I'm also excited for the snow on main street!!!!!!

Hi everyone! How is your planning going? We have hit a little bump in the road with planning. Our 180 day window for dining reservations is a Sunday morning when we have to be out of town and of course we are staying at a place that DOES NOT HAVE INTERNET. FOR REAL. It's a family reunion for my husband's family - at noon about 3 hours from our house so we were planning to leave the day before. So we just said okay we will make the reservations at 6am and then drive up. Then we find out the highway is CLOSED due to a charity marathon that morning. So that will be a fun morning. LOL! So a bump but we will get over it. We are hoping for PPO ADR at BOG and Akershus which I know will be the trickiest to get.

I am feeling a bit better about the POP Warner stuff...:)

Mintycake,

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but if you are staying on-site, I thought the ADR window was 180+10days? See if you can access the ressies from your MDE.

And I'm glad to see you're feeling more at ease about the Pop Warner championships. Like I said in my post, you only feel their presence on the bus and occasionally at the resort. Shouldn't affect your park experience.

And thank you for the 'congrats' Kimberly

Really? I thought ADR was 180 days from the first day with option to extend up to 10 days after? So if I'm going December 2 and staying for 7 days, I can make reservations 180 days from that day for my whole trip. I think that's how it works?

You are correct, that is how it works.

Is anyone doing the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party? We're considering it to get more MK time and character meet and greet time!
