*~~Official December 2016 Thread~~*

I just read some good news, for most of us. This was just on Twitter:

WDW News Today ‏@WDWNT 5m5 minutes ago Orlando, FL
Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade filming is happening at Walt Disney World 11/9-13. It is stage performances only, parade is at DLR.

Looks like those of us that were hoping to avoid the filming of the parade, like the plague, have nothing to worry about. If you were hoping that you'd catch the experience, I do apologize.

I'll come back and update the log tonight or tomorrow...it's fall fun night at school today, and I've been doing stuff for it all week and away from the boards.

Club Villain December dates have opened up, btw...almost booked, but I'm really holding out for JBJB.

Happy Friday!

Has anyone been scheduling FP's on or around those days? Just curious how it's looking so far. I'd love to know what all is already gone for those days so that I can plan ahead better.

Anyone been looking at/booking FP+ today? Curious how our dates are looking now. 60 window opens tomorrow!!! :dogdance:

We will see you there. Say hi if you see us. We aren't hard to miss, Party of 9, I'm 6'1", 5 crazy kids. :)

Question for you though. Do you plan you seeing Joy and Sadness? I can't decide if we should ride Soarin right after breakfast and then head to Joy and Sadness or go to Joy and Sadness first then come back to Soarin. I've heard Joy and Sadness line gets pretty long quickly and doesn't move very fast. But I've also heard they don't always come out right at 8:00, sometimes 8:20. I would hate to stand in line from 8 - 8:20 when we could have easily rode Soarin in that time...

Anyone else have thoughts? Do Joy and Sadness meet during evening Extra Magic Hours?

Hi Folks. As I had previously mentioned we have a quick Disney trip planned prior to getting on an NCL cruise. We arrive Dec 28 and depart Jan 2. Recently Disney has announced a 25% ticket discount promotion for Canadians. Catch is you must buy be for a minimum 4 days.

So this morning I called Disney and was able to change our 3 day park passes to the 4 day Canadian discount tickets. This gives us an extra day in the parks (who needs a down day....), 3 more Fast Passes during a very busy time, and I still saved almost $300 for the 6 of us!! Now that has made my day!!

I wanted to share in case any other Canadians are visiting and may be able to take advantage of this promotion. Now to get those Fast Passes booked in 7 days......

I hope I'm wrong but the 'view details' reads like there were blackout dates on these tickets? Did the CM discuss this with you?

Tickets and any options purchased must be used within 14 days of first use, except for Florida Resident 3-Day and 4-Day Tickets. Florida Resident 3-Day and 4-Day Tickets expire 6 months after first use or December 17, 2017, whichever comes first, and may not be used on the following blockout dates: July 1, 2016 to July 4, 2016; December 15, 2016 to December 31; 2016; January 1, 2017 to January 2, 2017; April 8, 2017 to April 21, 2017; June 5, 2017 to August 10, 2017.

Edit....actually when I read it again, it looks like the blackout is for Florida Residents---which is confusing why they would add that because then you wouldn't qualify for the Canadian discount!

We actually did this same ADR time this past July and was not going to ride Soarin right away because we had fast passes for it, but when we sat down at 8:15 our waiter asked if we were going to try and get on Soarin right after breakfast. We said no, but I guess A lot of people were doing this. Without even trying though we got through breakfast, had the best character interaction of the week, paid our bill with giftcards and were down riding soarin by 8:55 and didn't feel rushed at all. We even got our platter refilled! I would just plan on doing Soarin then just head over to the meet and greet. Nothing beats waking into the Soarin que and there is no one else there!

Hi MB, I did specifically confirm the tickets would be valid and in fact there are no blackout dates for these tickets. Thanks for your note to confirm though, it would not be a magical day if we showed up and the tickets were invalid.......

I'm curious too. I was going to just buy one but I like the homemade ones. What are you putting the pages in?
The last trip we took 3 years ago, I was able to build a photo book on snapfish or shutterfly and it worked perfectly for my then 3 yr old son...was planning on doing the same thing if I can find some photobook images again :)
