*~~Official December 2016 Thread~~*

Yep, we had one day park to park tickets so we could ride the Hogwarts Express - no way I was missing that!! And if you want EPs without getting an onsite room, I suggest buying them sooner rather than later, if only for the fact that ours went up in price closer to arrival date, which is also part of the reason we ended up doing a room booking.
You can see how crowded it was in my pictures, but I have a feeling you won't have to deal with anything quite like that.

Well I just looked at prices and it seems that the only combination that is like $12 cheaper is to do park to park tickets with the limited EP pass otherwise every other combination is cheaper if we get a room for a night. I'm going to wait for my SO to look at some things and see if there is any military discount I'm missing but I looked and the only ones available that are a significant difference are if we are staying multiple days. For now I think the best option is to get the room and the tickets like you did especially since that early hour in the harry potter world is definitely worth more than $12 in my opinion.

Thanks for the advice, these forums are the best!!! My trip is going to be so much better because of them I would have never of thought to even look at that as an option. Now to tell my SO and take all the credit and seem like a pure genius hahaha I kid I kid (she knows I'm always on these forums and none of these ideas are my own).

I hope you find the perfect way to make it work out!! Maybe there is some kind of military discount to make it even better, that would be great! I'm glad I could help, and I agree - I love these boards!

Hi I'm going 10-18 but staying at Pop. Your list looks great. I have Akershus dinner, PPO BOG, and 1900 breakfast on my list too. Can't wait for ADR day Monday!
I know, I'm getting nervous lol. I'm going to make my DH get up in the morning and help me out! I've heard you can both be logged into the same account to make reservations as long as you don't click submit at the same time. We aren't planning an ADR for the day we get there, so I'm hoping we'll be good. Going to try to Akershus first I think.

Can't he setup his own MDE account and link it to your reservation so you don't have to worry about hitting submit at the same time?

He has one, but I think if I try to change it later from my account, it won't let me so I'd have to log into his to revise it if need be. Maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong. I read it on another post somewhere.

That is correct- the "lead" reservation person is the only one whom can change/modify the reservation. So yes-you would have to log into his account to change anything his account reserved.

Gosh, I'm getting so excited reading all the plans on here! Has anybody hopped around to the different resorts checking out the xmas decorations? I was thinking that might be a nice thing to do on the 18th, the day that we are attending MVMCP. Also, has anybody done the horse riding at Disney? I have a daughter who is desperate to do it, but I'm not sure if it's worth the time. The other thing I was wondering about was the ?sleigh rides at Fort Wilderness. Has anybody got any feedback on that?

I like way you think! We'll be resort hopping on our party day (12/15) too. Probably hit the 3 monorail resorts, Wilderness Lodge, then head to AKL for lunch at Sanaa. After that maybe a nap back at our room then head to MK for the party.

With regard to the horse rides, how old is you daughter? I'm only asking because our DD will be 2 months shy of her 9th birthday when we go and she is very tall for her age. We were wondering if Disney is strict about the 9 years and over policy for the horseback riding. I did see the pony rides for the younger kids but I don't think that would really be any big thrill for her.

I would love to resort hop at the monorail resorts to see their decorations. Hmmm not sure when we'd do that. We are going to check out WL when we eat lunch at Whispering Canyon before MVMCP. We are doing DS before our late lunch. Maybe we could resort hop after that depending on how long we're at DS.

Definitely part of our plans on our party night! We'll be at the Boardwalk, so it'll be easy to see Yacht/Beach Club, and we're having breakfast at the GFlo Cafe and doing the monorail loop...then off to my favorite Wilderness Lodge (this will be our first trip not staying there...it feels so weird!)

We are trying to see a few resorts during our trip. Going to AKL on arrival day (first time trying Boma!), then trying to catch WL and GF - probably during breaks from MK or on our way out of the park. We will also end up seeing Poly since we are doing an Ohana breakfast. Really excited to see them all since this may be our only Christmas trip!

That is exactly what we do on our 1st party date. Get up, at our leisure. Hit Kona Cafe for breakfast, then ride the monorail to the other resorts. Head back to POR for a nap. And then hit the MVMCP as close to 4pm as we can.

It is a very chill and laid back day. Especially if you do it after 3 or 4 days of going all out and hustling at the parks. And the gingerbread structures are awesome.

Quick questions: (probably should have asked on the transportation thread)

1. What's the easiest way to get to Wilderness Logde if coming from CSR? Obviously bus to MK. Then ferry to WL?

2. Also going to Fort Wilderness from CSR? (Obviously bus to MK first) but then after that I've read that there is no direct ferry from MK to FW. Is this true? Or is there a ferry that DOES go there and it just stops at multiple resorts?

I believe the boat that goes to WK also goes to FW... and maybe also stops at CR? There definitely is a boat, that much I recall!

Nope. Lol! I just booked ADR's at all the resorts instead!
I did book a sleigh ride and will hop over there after our lunch at WC. It's pretty expensive though. I was wondering if you might be able to rent a golf cart there to ride around and look at decorations. My family would probably like that just as much! Lol!

Persistence is key I was able to find a pre-park opening reservation for crystal palace at 8:35 not super ideal would like it a bit earlier but will definitely work for us I am so excited!
So I cancelled our BoG reservation that was at 8:25 am :)

That's how long til my ADR window opens. BDLsgal and I banged out plans A thru G. If those don't work than I'm out of ideas. So if I get what we are looking for, the only curveball left will be the Candlelight Processional dining combos.

If anyone else is ADR shopping tomorrow, good luck (but not better than mine ;) )

We ended up adding a day at the front of our trip after checking flight prices and times. We got lucky and ended up with a noon flight out of our home airport. We fly Delta, but we checked other airlines just in case, and it still ended up being the best deal.

I would play around with your arrival date and see if something better pops up. I hate figuring out flights, I'm sorry it's stressful!! Good luck!

Thanks! We ended up arriving a day early. Totally ok in my book!
