ops .. meant to post this here, but posted it in another december thread, so copied and reposting here :)

. well .. plans have changed. i really want to go to the poly, but i've decided to go with POR, so we can stay longer and pay less .. plus, i thought the poly would be sooo much better to go to with my husband after deployment (so now i can start planning our next trip in 2011 ).

so, now our reservations are for Dec 21st-29th at POR with free dining (upgraded to DxDDP). it's been so much fun adding more ADRs all i need now is the candlelight processional on either the 22nd or the 24th and we'll be done with ADRs! CM said yesterday that the CP packages wouldn't be available til the end of July, but couldn't say an exact date. oh, well .. guess i'll just keep calling everyday til they say they're available :)

Most of my plans are finalized, just waiting on CP package to see what I can get for dining, already have Garden Grill for the day I will be at Epcot but I really want the package for the seating of the show and viewing area of Illuminations!
As I read the other posts I realize how many other special events I would like to attend ............... that just means another holiday trip! My family used to go every year the week before Christmas but have not gone then for many years, now I remember just how great it is then! I am not sure I will want to go another time of year now!
I do miss the Living Nativity that was presented at DTD though, it was so special, which is why I want to be sure to get to see the CP.

This is a surprise for my daughter she will be 17 in October. I booked arriving Dec 18th leaving on the 23rd. I have so much planning to do! I think I will just keep the QSP and not upgrade. We had the table service plan when we went in 2008 and to me it just took up too much time. I may plan a couple of ADRs and just pay OOP not sure though....but breakfast is the cheapest so we may do a couple of them.

I am not so sure whether to go to MVMCP or not? I need to do this on as tight a budget as possible.

We stayed at Pop and loved it when we went in 2008 and that is where I have reservations this time but I am thinking about ASM???

And how do you surprise a 17 year old? Any ideas?

oooooh man.. just watched main street electrical parade on youtube and while th actual parade might be better I HATE the music! I really hope spectro is back by december!!:snooty:

Me too! I LOVE the Specto. music!!! That was the one good thing about having to cancel our June trip - we might get Spectro. instead. :thumbsup2

We love the Spectro music too. When ever I am having a down day I turn on my Spectro, Wishes, and Illuminations music. It always puts me in a great mood.

It's funny, but it used to make me sick. The first time I ever heard the music I was laying on a bench in Frontieer Land very motion sick from BTM (or as my kids now call it "Big Throw-up Mountain". I was so sick I couldn't move, so DH and the kids watched Spectro. Every time we watch the video of our first trip DH makes sure to show the part where he zooms in on me laying on that bench, slightly green, with the Spectro. music playing in the background.

Thankfully, I have better memories from later trips! :upsidedow That song just gets stuck in your head! I'm going to be singing it for days now!! :goodvibes

Budget-wise you could save money by going a week earlier. At a Value level hotel you could save about $285 by staying from th 12th-16th. With the savings you could then go to MVMCP. I assume the timing has something to do with school schedules though.

was just looking on youtube at IASW in Disneyland all decorated for Christmas and played some Christmas music too.. does WDW's IASW do that too??

No, WDW doesn't do the Christmas layover on IASW, or Haunted Mansion. It sure would be nice for them to do that. One day I am going to get to go out to Disneyland and see it for myself.

I have the boxed set of music from the parks and have almost worn out my Spectro and Illuminations CDs.

Hi! Looking at your dates... I'd probably say not to do MVMCP - I think from the 19th, the christmas parade & holiday Wishes will be performed every day in the week leading up to Christmas day :santa:

Hmm... a 17 year old - maybe something from the Disney Florist delivered to your room when you arrive? .. an afternoon shopping at Downtown Disney or a snack at ESPN cafe on the Boardwalk (sorry, not sure if it's a boy or girl! :goodvibes)

No, unfortunately WDW don't do the holiday overlays.... I think it's because many of the Disneyland guests are more local to the park & can go multiple times a year... whereas WDW attracts guests from farther away, and they expect to see 'the' Haunted Mansion or IASW :goodvibes
Never mind, it's another reason for me to visit DL ... one day! :wizard:

All booked for the Yacht Club Dec 4-11.

My Aussie girlfriend has no clue. She thinks she will be tagging along while I make a trip to Gainesville to help open a new distribution center for my company. I'll just make a quick detour in the rental car. :cool1:

Still making some ADR's. I can't wait to see her face. She has wanted to go to WDW since she was tiny.
