FINALLY!!!!!

I was able to get free dining :cool1: with the ts upgrade - I'm saving $200 more than with my 40% off room only pin. So I took the free dining :goodvibes

I was looking to upgrade to deluxe but after doing the math - I would be paying what I originally would be paying for the 1ts dining plan- so it's def not worth it.

I hope these 5 months go by fast - I can't wait!

When we went a few years ago and stayed at POR during POP week, we did have an 'incident'. We had a 2yo (my niece) with us and were getting ready for bed. It was about 11pm when we hear a large bus unload right outside our door (we had parking lot view in building 14 or 15 i think in AB), so that was loud, but then tons of screaming young girls spend the next hour running up and down the hallways, up the stairs and screaming. It was very late and we were so mad. we could hear them stomping around on the walkways upstairs even. We called security, twice. apparently others did too. finally they all went to bed. But it was pretty bad. We also noticed larger crowds at the food court and the pool. I did notice the chaperones at the pool were more interested in drinking than chaperoning (of course I might need a beer if chaperoning pre-teen girls too!) :rotfl::lmao: They were loud, but we didn't see any truly bad behavior except that one night. And we were at POR for 10 nights i think.

We only saw the kids in the park ONE time. They do not have really any effect on the park crowds that we noticed. We saw football players in space mtn line and actually chatted with them (the ride closed down for a few) and they were super polite and nice. We really didn't see the POP kids in the park other than that. At least, not that we noticed. I know they have a night/party at the studios, usually like wednesday, so HS might close a little earlier for that.

If you are staying at one of the resorts they stay at, just be prepared for longer lines at the food court, pools, gift shops, possibly buses. They are mainly in competition during the day, so the busiest times were morning and night. I know i was pretty annoying as a pre-teen/teenager cheerleader myself 25 years ago, so i try and keep that in mind.:rotfl::confused3

My daughter and I are pretty heavy sleepers and it takes ALOT to really get me annoyed. My husband on the other hand is a pretty light sleeper and he gets really aggrevated quickly when people are inconsiderate. He is more the type to confront the chaperones than calling security :sad2::rotfl2: So hopefully the POP crew won't be too roudy. They really don't want a lecture from my husband on having respect for others :rotfl2:

WOO HOOOOOOO!!! Called on my way into work this afternoon and added free dining to both my ressies! We are upgrading to Deluxe, but regardless, we saved almost $1000!! ($469 per room to be exact- 5 nights for each room) I am excited and I know my parent are thrilled, sinc ethey are footing the bill. It made me realize how much money I probably wasted before I knew about DIS since I never even knew Disney did discounts (other than military) before!!! So excited!! Thank you Disney!

Hey, add me!

Staying with my daughter Dec 17-24, 2010 at POP Century. No plans as far as MVMCP goes. . .probably a no-can-do on that.

I also have a PTR here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=37228231#post37228231
i'll get you added! welcome! :wizard:

how did you get free dining??
if you booked directly with disney, call them up. You have to be staying on property and have tickets with your package too- you need 3 consecutive nights at a disney hotel and at least a 2 day park ticket as part of your package to qualify and of course the dates:
August 15 - October 7, 2010, October 22-October 28, 2010, November 12-18, 2010, November 27 - December 2, 2010 and December 10-21, 2010.
just call them up and they can apply free dining to your package if you qualify and there is availability. Or if you booked through a travel agent, call them and have them do it!;)

Ok I was just reading through the pin threads. Thanks for the info!

But DVC members do not get the option for free dining I guess.. which is ridiculous if you ask me! Being part of the DVC costs a pretty penny its not like being a dvc owner is free...I would love to be offered free dining!

Pins are given through email and postal mail for reasons unknown! Disney will randomly give them out, probably due to some super mathematical equations they calculate on who you are, where you are, your reservation history, your likelihood of using a pin, etc.

The best way any of us know how to possibly get them is to sign up for mailing lists from Disney and Disney companies (either email or postal mail). Also, it doesn't hurt to make sure you have an online account with them and then play around with their website while logged into your account.

(Somebody from Disney is probably reading this and laughing at our attempts to get on their pin radar!)

:dance3:Hooray!! Beth at DU emailed me all the info this morning about the free dining offer extension!! But, to get the new deal on dining we had to add ANOTHER day on our vacation!! We had to change our Savannah Room to a Savannah Bunk Bed room, does anyone know about them?

Okay so we already had to add a day on the end to see Steven Curtis Chapman and now a day on the start to EAT FREE!!! What a deal!!

The Bollengier 4 are definitely doin' the HAPPY DANCE all over Princeton, TX

I just got our free dining!!!! So excited. There are black out dates for most of our trip but we check in on a non-black out date so we get free dining for the whole trip!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Looks like that answers my question. I knew they changed the room rate policy, good to see they didn't change the policy for this.

I received a pin which is a discount code either sent to your email or your home address. I was told to go onto Disneys website, log in and set up my hotel, my tickets, as well as dining and then click out of the page. Then a pop up shows up and asks why you left the page early - click that you felt you were not getting the best deal. I did this about 5 times and boom - I received a pin code in my email a week later, as well as one in my home mail. It was 40% off for select dates - room only discount.

The free dining offer is featured on the Disney website - so it is open on certain dates as well but its great! You get quick service for free but you can upgrade to the dining with the 1 table service, 1 quick and 1 snack for $10 each adult/each night and $2 each child/each night. I was going to do the Delux where you get 3 table service or quick service meals but its $50 each adult/each night and thats just too much money for my family.

Hope I answered your question =)

Hi all!

I don't post often (obviously) although I read the boards constantly, but I feel compelled to write and share (with people that I know share my excitement) that I just booked for December 2010! Free dining is just the icing on the cake, because I've wanted to see Disney at Christmastime for YEARS and finally get the chance to do it!

Looking forward to counting down with you all to a magical WDW holiday trip! :cool1:

After reading an e-mail from Neverland.com this am saying Disney had announced dates to extend free DDP into Dec, I called to request it be added to our reservation. Waited 35 minutes for a reservation person, but it took her all of 2 minutes to add the free plan for our entire stay even though only 3 of the 10 days fall into the dates! What a great gift from WDW-- the plan is worth about $650 for us. We weren't expecting any kind of discount or free offer late in Dec when we will be there, so we are very happy!:dance3:
