Y The theatre that the CLP is in, has the main stage on the water, so the back wall is on the wall almost and would totally block your view of the water. You will want to move out of the theatre and somewhere around world showcase to view it. As mentioned, the 'reserved' viewing area for the CLP package is all the way around the other side of the lagoon, opposite from the theatre, it is quite a walk and will be close trying to make that in time if you see the 8:15 show. the show will end probably 9-9:15, then Illuminations is at 9:30. Really you can see it okay from most spots without trees blocking the water from anywhere aroudn the world showcase. The back of future world (where the reserved viewing area is) is popular, because you get the full effect of being able to see all the lights on the world showcase buildings change. Mexico and UK and Canada are also popular spots to watch.

I thought that area was reserved for Grand Gatherings? Which CLP packages include the viewing? I thought it was only dinner and CLP?

Is there a list somewhere of when everyone is going and where they are staying? :confused3

Thanks- I was pricing out Philly flights this morning - really no big price differences - so I think I'm going to go for a later departure =)

Good for you. Even if you don't go to park, you can always head to Downtown Disney to purchase stuff to ship home. The World of Disney store is great. We drove down in 2007, so we went there on the last day. Lucky for me we only had to put the bags in the back of the van with the luggage and head home.

We are staying at SSR, rented DVC points, my first time doing this! Where are you staying?

We are going to Hershey Park tomorrow...I'm going to try out my RideHopper App and see how it works.

Yes, definitely take your ADR confirmation #s out! welcome to the thread! I live in Plano, TX, so not too far away! there has been talk on another board (DIS unplugged) of trying to get a TX meet going sometime! you are there the same time as us too- we arrive 12/4 and leave 12/11. sounds like some great ADRs you have! and awesome you are first class!! are you flying AA?

.

My best friend is from Plano. Now she lives in Belton, but she grew up in Plano and her parents still live there. Small world!

Why isn't time going faster!!!! I am sure this weekend I will be changing a ton of ADRs. We normally go out of town for 4th of July but we got a puppy not too long ago and I didn't want to board him yet so we will be trapped at home. Only thing that sucks about living by the shore you can't leave and go anywhere on a holiday weekend.

So has anyone else totally changed their ADRs yet? I realized last night I have way too many of them and DH said just keep them all don't worry about the $$. Gotta love him!

how far are you from Atlantic City? Thats where im flying out of .. ive gotten lots of coupons lately from them

I'm in Philly - so I am about a 1/2 hour away from AC - I'll look into discounts from there - Thanks!

Here is a link to a list of common acronyms used on the DISBoards. Very helpful. I was confused about CP at first because I kept thinking Crystal Palace.

Acronym List

thank you thank you thank you! LoL

Hi.. welcome to the thread!

Many people here have been told the same thing regarding Candlelight Processional... the narrators will probably be announced later in July, so then the dinner packages will become available.. we're all waiting here! :santa:

I went to CLP last year, we had a dining package at Teppan Edo at 5.30pm.. we then saw the 8.15pm show... the package also includes a private viewing area of Illuminations - we didn't know about this! ... But - the viewing area was right back the other side of the lagoon.. near the entrance to future world! so time the show had finished (9.15pm ish) we had to walk very very quickly around World Showcase to get to the roped of area... we didn't actually make it there before the fireworks started (stopping at Kringla bakery in Norway for a Baileys coffee slowed us down)!

I don't think you can stay in the American Adventure theater to watch the fireworks.. and it wouldn't give a very good view of Illuminations as the stage blocks the view of the lagoon?

Hope this helps.... happy planning!

ps - if you post your ADRs here (date, time & restaurant) I can add them to the 'master list' of all our dining reservations! :santa:

I have never done the CLP (never been to disney in the month of december).. do a lot of people do this??

Vickie- I feel your pain! I grew up in OCNJ. I would always try and get as far away from that island for 4th of July.

For those of you flying out of AC, you can sign up for Spirits low fare club ( I think you pay a small amount) but you can get $27 flights. That's what one of my friends is doing and meeting us during our trip.

We booked December 12th - 17th staying at the Contemporary Resort. Just my Sister and I are going this time. :)

Ok, so I chatted with Disney online and was given the following list:

Isabella Rossellini 11/26 - 11/28
Jodi Benson 12/7 - 12/9
Whoopi Goldberg 12/10 - 12/11
Steven Curtis Chapman 12/12 - 12/15
Thomas Gibson 12/16 - 12/18
Trace Adkins 12/19 - 12/21
Marlee Matlin 12/28 - 12/30

All narrators are subject to change without notice! Booking should open by the end of July.

Yay!!!!

This is on page 69 of this thread.... Haven't seen the narrators for the missing dates anywhere... I am particularly interested in who is there on the 4th - 6th!!!

I have never done the CLP (never been to disney in the month of december).. do a lot of people do this??

Yup CLP is very popular.. every night we were in World Showcase, the lines (standy by and the one for dinner packages) snaked right around the lagoon! :santa:

It is an amazing performance.. I would recommend seeing it at least one time - it's a unique thing for the holidays at WDW too!

sorry i meant to say the CLP package- those doing the dinner package for CLP get the special viewing area. Not sure where they typically do the GG, i haven't ever seen one when i've been. But i've seen the private parties on the lower decks near the UK/France etc. :goodvibes

The only one I know of is on the December Code Watch thread, but I don't know when it was last updated. My info isn't on it.

yes, i have kept a list of all going in this thread and where they are staying. see the middle link in my sig for dec 09 trippers!

My best friend is from Plano. Now she lives in Belton, but she grew up in Plano and her parents still live there. Small world!
it's a small world afterall............lol too funny! :thumbsup2

vickie- i haven't changed ADRS yet, but i've been tempted! I am going to wait for the CLP packages and mexico ressies first before i do anything else to them. the wait is killing me!!!

and we have a disneyland trip sept 9-13th, with mom and sisters only. i can't book dining for it until 60 days out and the tour we want to do at only 30 days out. that wait is really hard too!
