Well I have done some changes to my dates, we are still going in December, but we moved the other week of our vacation to October to meet about 20 people from a Disney message board (Enchanted) for the 3rd annual meet.

So now my dates are Dec. 7th - Dec. 14th. I think we are doing MVMCP on the 12th.

edited: Redoing reservations, looks like we are going deluxe. Will post them when I am done :rotfl:.

UGHHHH why do I have to think too much. I am driving myself insane. Right now we have the regular dining plan and we are paying OOP for 4 meals. If I do the deluxe from my calculations we are paying only $180 less but we have more meals to add. I just don't think I can add all the darn meals though. I can change one ADR for California Grille, I actually already did that. The ADR I got wasn't until 9pm though so I would need to add a lunch there since our breakfast ADR is for 7:45 am. I can also see if I can add the Spirit of Aloha show so that with all that added it adds 5 more credit. But I am still like 4 credits short.

So what would you do? We go every year and we will be there for 9 days we normally do a early breakfast ADR and a later dinner one and we would stop for a CS meal anyway. So to Deluxe or not?

Vicki, we have the same problem going back and forth about the deluxe dining plan or not. That just seems like a ton of food to us and as of right now we have decided the regular plan but that might change by tomorrow :rotfl:.

I don't have an answer for you, just wanted you to know that you are not alone with that decision.

I totally understan your dilemma! We are doing Deluxe, but I thought long and hard about it. We decided that while yes, we will "waste" a meal on counter service, it's worth it for us to get in all the meals we want and not be saddled with a bunch of CS meals, since we wouldn't really use those. Plus the extra snack and the refillable mug are super handy. Since the value of the dining plans is steadily decreasing, this might very well be the last time we pay for dining anyways, so we figured we'd do it big!

Well atleast I know I am not alone. We do have the TIW card so that saves us some money. But since we are going to be there for 2 black out dates its cheaper to do DDP especially since we are DVC and we don't get charged the season charge. But I calculated the DDP to cost us around $1100 for the 5 of us. Then we are paying OOP for CRT and 3 other restaurants. BUT I never took into account the appies I would probably add at a few of our meals as well.

UGHHHHH thankfully DH is going to sit down with my tonight and go over our schedule. DH and I did the Deluxe in March when we went and it was a ton of food but we also did a lot of signatures. We did go to WGP express for lunch one day. I use the DDP to pretty much prepay so if I have any savings its a plus!!!

ughhhhh now u are stressing meeee out! I was set on doing the reg dining plan but now maybe we should do deluxe.. i just dont want to waste so much of our trip sitting down eating when i could be doing rides

Fill me in on the deluxe now.. how much is it per person.. wondering if i sohuld do it now so we can use our extra credits on meals for our 2yr old.. is it 3 table credits a day?

It is 3 credits a day per person. You can use them for table or counter service meals. It includes 2 snacks per day per person and one refillable mug per person .

The cost is $71.99 per guest 10 and older. With the deluxe dining plan the appetizer is included for lunch and dinner.

LOL sorry. Well if it makes you feel any better I sat down with DH and at first he was do the Deluxe and we will just walk out without using 3 credits or get sandwhiches to go from EOS and then just leave 2. But that was still eating 2-3 big meals a day. It made sense when we went in March because we would eat a breakfast, snack for lunch and then do a signature for dinner. I just don't want to do the signatures with the kids. They are well behaved and would enjoy it but it takes packing more and going back and getting changed and thats too much. Especially since our youngest is autistc, she is high functioning but all that change would be too much. Plus if she has a bad day and I cancel one of our sigs then what.

So all that stress for nothing. Plus what the heck would I do with 80 snack credits:eek:

We decided NOT to do the dining plan because lots of times we split things...or order appetizers for entrees and because DD (7) likes to order from the adult menu. And sometimes DS (10) likes to order from the kids menu....so it just didn't make sense to pay for it. Of course, if they offer FREE dining in December, I may have to change my mind! :goodvibes

We just talked about it and for us I dont think the extra $60 a day will be worth it.. we just normally wouldnt spend that much but the idea of more snack credits is cool

We upgraded to the dxddp because it was only around $200 more and sense we were planning on paying oop for HDDR which was almost $200 for the 4 of us, it made sense to upgrade. Of course now we have character breakfasts most every day and either a signature dinner or dinner show each night. It will work out well for us. We use the snack credits for lunch and drinks so they usually don't go to waste.

I didn't think it was much of an additional cost to switch to dxddp for the 6 nights. What is the cost difference?:confused3

don't worry about it- i've been in 'trouble' before here (int he last 10 years i've been posting here!) and they are really sweet about it. they can tell when you do something with bad intent and you didn't. usually a moderator will send you a warning by PM to remove the info and that's that. they won't make you stand in the corner or anything! :rotfl::wizard: you're all good.

Thanks for the kind words, but this did'nt have anything to do with the Dis... it was about touringplans.com. The PP was telling someone that I was'nt supposed to be sharing the Crowd Calendar from Touringplans.com because it's a paid subscription. Thanks, April

Wow...I can't believe there are 80 families going at the same time as me. I get that the park will be more crowded but I had no idea so many people were here on this board. Is anyone else going to Mousetacular? I would love to meet some people who are also Disney lovers

I could be wrong but I think its 41.99 per person per day for regular and 71.99 for deluxe.. so $30 more a day per person. Regular is $587 where as Deluxe is $1007 for the two of us for 7 nights.

The DxDDP is 70.99 for adults and 20.99 for kids. I think it wouldn't be such an issue for us if we didn't have to pay the difference for DD who is 10. So for us for the 8 nights we are there it would be over $2000. Now when DH and I go without the kids we will get the Deluxe because its not a pain getting changed and going out. I might actually do a split stay though and if I do then I will do deluxe for part and regular for the rest. But SHHHHHH don't tell my DH his head might explode LOL

Wow! Thanks!!! :goodvibes

Is the OP still around? It would be nice to have a link to your list and the ADR list in the first post.

IF they aren't around, could a Mod do it for us?

:confused3

what is the "FREE" dining all about? Is this in a package or something they may just offer? details please...

January is even better- much slower than December. December is becoming more popular and is always popular with the DVC crowd (low points to rent in Dec). December won't be like January, it is picking up more each year with all the discounts they offer. But i still enjoy it, even with slightly bigger crowds than there used to be, it is still pretty low crowds compared to summer for me. Plus the weather is so much better. with proper planning, fast pass, going early, you won't wait more than 20 minutes for anything. if you are the sleeping in type, that won't work though- gotta be the early bird to avoid the lines! lol

Yah we used to go every January and July. And july was so ridiculously busy! We loved going in January! December seems like its definitely getting more and more popular. And its def on the lower end for DVC points.. yippee! When I called to book in March there was not a whole lot left!

Im a great planner, lol. I have been to WDW plenty of times! Im set and ready
I am the sleeping in type.. but not in disney! Im up and ready to go by 8am!
