**Official December 2010 Thread!!** - PART 2!

10 days to go!:santa:
I did our Online Check-in this morning! No problems!:thumbsup2
I spent the rest of the day working on luggage tags and making sure our luggage locks work as well as packing toiletries, decorations, extra stuff, etc.!
The hardest thing will be to keep our luggage under 50 lbs!:scared1: I hope we don't have to pack a lot of thick, winter clothes-they weigh a ton! All we have to do now is pack our clothes and we will be done! :santa:

So sorry to hear about what has happened! I hope your mom continues to improve and that things will get better for her and for you soon! Sending a little pixie dust your way! :wizard:

Stuffed with Fluff, I'm so sorry for all the problems you and your mother are going through. Yes, you are under a heavy burden for a 21 year-old. Does your mom have insurance that will cover her if she needs medical care while at WDW if you do both manage to make it there? That's what I would really be concerned about.

My DH has been fighting vertigo since the beginning of July and has been hospitalized twice but is finally doing better. We have a scooter rental lined up and will have to decide by Thursday if we want to make the payment to confirm the reservation for the scooter.

Here's a :grouphug: for you and a liberal sprinkling of pixiedust:pixiedust:

thank you both. in reference to her CHF, both her general practitioner and cardiologist gave us blessings to go to WDW as long as she would use a wheel chair and i carried my bp monitor for her. but now with her gallbladder, i am worried about her nausea and pain.

side note: i hope everyone leaving this week has a fabulous trip. take a ton of pictures and bring back pixie dust for the rest of us! :wizard:

the looks of the beginning of that week seem delightful! if all works out, and everything finally goes as planned --i can start packing. i plan on packing capris and jeans. so i totally know what you mean fearing the 50 lb rule with winter wear. have safe travels! hopefully i will have a head start of three days on you! :dance3:

:sad1: i went to pick up my mother on monday for her
two doctor appointments and while i was clearing out the passenger seat, i heard her yelp. she blacked out and fell through the front door and rolled off of our porch falling three feet. I rushed her to the ER. first they thought she had several mini strokes, then they thought it was her heart failure. AFTER SEVEN DAYS of watching my mother struggle through severe pain they have FINALLY determined the cause of all the pain and decrease in bp--HER GALLBLADDER. it is TWICE the size, where it is normally posterior to the liver is now extended infront--where you can feel it thru her skin. not only does she suffer from CHF and diabetes, she is going thru this :sad2: :sad1: i have spent nearly 14 hours each day next to my mother and i am only 21. i am a full time student and desk clerk. we originally wanted to go last august, but couldn't afford it.

so we have been planning and planning for our december trip. i have hounded the site for ADRs. and we finally got all of our desired restaurants. we are to leave in a week, next sunday. my mom has insisted i don't cancel until the very last minute. and it kills me to think realistically that i will have to :sad1:

for anyone that dislikes personal situations on this thread- i would never wish this on ANYONE. i just needed to type it all out, and get any support i can.

thank you:hug:

You poor thing! I'm so sorry you're having to go through this at such a young age!! I really hope everything will be okay with your mom so that you two can enjoy a nice vacation together! Hugs and prayers to you and your mom.

So sorry to hear about your mother!! I really hope everything turns out for the best and you get to go!! I am crossing my fingers for you!!

17 days left :woohoo:

As some of you know I started having back pain last month and despite doing exercises and taking muscles relaxers my back no longer hurts but I have developed pain in my leg so I hopefully either tomorrow or Tuesday I will get in to the chiropractor to see if they can help, I had good results with them last year when my back was bothering me and I'm hoping the pain will go away by the time we leave for the World! Or else it will be a loong vacation as I am unable to walk without a limp right now because of the pain and this puts added pressure on my good leg :sad1:.

Hope everyone is having a festive holiday season and looking forward to hopefully reading some trip reports before we leave ;)

I am currently at MVMCP and riding the peoplemover for the third time in a row. I guess tonight is all about the 2 year old. We weren't even planning to go to the party until 6pm when he broke down in tears because we weren't going to see Mickey. I guess he knows how to work me ha ha.

Thank goodness for Southwest's two free bags policy! I have a small bag filled with just Xmas decorations!!! I thought I was going to have to ship a box down, but remembered Southewest lets you check 2 bags!!! Woot!!! :goodvibes

Thank goodness agreed! We are checking 4 bags, and bringing on 3, I think...

Leaving on Wed. arriving at DW on Thursday morning! Fingers crossed for warmer temps.

We've heard people are being allowed in as early as 4pm. Is that still true??

This breaks my heart! I can't imagine what you are going through. I'm sending thoughts and prayers and pixie dust your way. I hope she improves and that you will be able to take your trip as it is so important to the both and you'll treasure those memories. I'm sure that whatever happens the two of you will have a good time together. It's good to hear that she is at least in good spirits.

And to anyone that would have the nerve to complain about this being off topic has no heart and would be completely wrong considering this directly relates to your trip. Bah humbug to the haters!

 Be strong StuffedwithFluff and mom!

We are shipping one big box down to OKW before we get there. Most of it will be going into our DVC locker. I'm not paying out the butt to check extra luggage so the extra $ to ship this down doesn't really matter to me.

My question is: We are arriving Dec 23rd, when should I ship the box down there? I was thinking Dec 18th or 19th. What does anyone think?

TIA!

Depending on how you ship it, you may want to give an extra day or two for Christmas rush. If you are doing Fedex or something more guaranteed you should be fine.
