**Official December 2010 Thread!!** - PART 2!

How can this happen? I've done all this planning, been so organized, and now I have to run around in the last 3 days like a mad woman. Plus, I'm stuck at work just knowing how much stuff I have to get done.:headache: After waiting for the weather forecast before I pack, I now know we need to pack mostly capris for DD and me and jeans for DH. DD does not have ANY capris that fit!!! We live in New England and I'm betting that no stores carry them this time of year. I'm going at lunch time today to see if I can find any on the clearance racks. Worst case scenario, I call my Dad's girlfriend (lives in FL) to see if she can shop down there for DD. However, Dad doesn't come to visit until half-way through our trip! :sad2:

On top of all that, DH informs me last night that he has only 1 pair of jeans to pack. :scared1: The rest he's destroyed doing remodeling work at our house. Again, at lunch today, I have to run out to see if I can find him a few jeans. Where we live, we don't have a lot of stores to choose from, unless I drive 30 minutes each way to get there - then I wouldn't have time to shop! Hope I can find him some...

Plus, I have 3 loads of laundry to do before we leave. 2 of them have stuff we need to pack. :laundy: Good lord! How did I end up in this mess??? Thanks for letting me vent. It'll all be better Saturday morning! :cloud9:
That sounds like us every year! Last year, we ran out of time washing clothes and packing that we figured we would buy stuff when we got down there. We bought everything from underwear to coats!

Try not to stress too much. Almost anything you need can be bought when you arrive, if you forget something or run out of time. As long as you remember the tickets and other must-have items, it will all work out!

:banana::banana:Holy Moley we are in the single digits!!!:banana: I don't know who is more excited us or the girls!! We are packing this weekend. I already have the girls packed, just need to work on us!:banana:

Holy cow- only 3 days on my ticker- and not counting today (we are a third of the way done with today!), then it is only 2. 3 more sleeps and 2.5 more days of work. You wait and plan all year long and then suddenly it is here and you simply are giddy with excitement!:santa::santa::santa::woohoo:

i just emailed one of my DIS MOM thread friends who i have chatted with over 4 years here, through our pregnancy etc (our kids are 3 now!). Never met her in person. We are hoping to meet up at MVMCP with some other moms from our thread too! I emailed her and she said they just landed and were getting bags! so jealous!

So here is a packing list i used in the past- in case anyone needs it. the first part is also good for a checklist for vacation! enjoy!
Thanks! We have a packing list that has worked well for us over the years, but I love seeing other people's lists to help tweak my own!

I can't believe you are so close to leaving!!

I am starting to fall in love with accuweather, the forecast for 12/13-12/15 is GORGEOUS, I hope it stays! It is in the teens and 20's here, so I am really looking forward to sunshine and 70's, and 80's are okay with me if it gets there!

i am just going to keep checking back on all the sites.

we might even get snow here in Dallas they say next week, depends on where this front moves too........lol!!! :rotfl:

Leaving tomorrow at around 1040pm from LAX! I am so excited I can hardly stand it!:cool1:

Today is my last day of work and then I am free to finish packing!

So, if I'm doing my calculations right, you should be getting into MCO right about 7+am EST (1040pm PST + 5h flight). That is perfect planning. Get some sleep on the plane, drop your bags off at the hotel. Get to the park first thing. Return to the hotel at lunch to unpack and nap maybe. Then the full on vacation can go on unabbated.

Very well planned out.

Happy December everyone! We are leaving in 11 days to stay at POP!

2girlsmom - Thanks for the accuweather comment. I didn't know they forecasted 15 days out... that's neat, whether it's accurate or not!

exwdwcm - That's a thorough packing list. I'm calling in prescriptions now!

Thanks! Yes we get in to MCO at 6:21am. We find this the best way to maximize our time at WDW, and without kids it is doable (harder to do with kids, especially babies or toddler...we did a regular morning flight when we went with my niece). Then we leave in the evening on our flight home (leaves at 610 and gets in to LAX at 836).

Since we are so excited for the new Harry Potter land I am sure we will be perky and alert on our first day, even though we won't have gotten much sleep.

I just can't wait!

Almost there. I'll be so crazy every second up until we leave on the 19th it's sure to go quickly right?:rotfl:

7 more sleeps for us! SEVEN!!! :dance3: (If we're not too excited to sleep!)

I'm getting closer. I got my box packed up that needs to be sent to our resort for our trip. We are DVC members so I wanted to get everything shipped off that is going to be staying in our Owner's Locker. That makes packing MUCH MUCH easier!

Tomorrow I need to get a packing list started. Yes, I'm a tad behind in getting things done but I'm trying to get school stuff accomplished. Luckily the class ends Dec 13th and I'll be able to focus on Disney stuff a lot better.

what is a member's locker??

Anyone else sad about the reports of the lack of decorations? I went last December after hearing similar reports and I thought the decorations were great, but I'm finding it hard to be optimistic this year :sad2:

Someone please tell me it won't be that bad!!!

Spent the morning getting a pedi and getting acquainted with my new camcorder!

Also on my to do list - clearing out and uploading all pictures and videos from camera/camcorder/phone so I have a clean slate when I arrive.

In exacty 3 days, I should be rolling into Epcot and dashing with fingers crossed for a FP for Soarin'!

Please tell me your joking!!! :lmao:

See... See... I told you Dallas weather was BIPOLAR :lmao:

How far in advance do you ship the box? I need to do the same...

16 More days here, so excited:cool1::banana::cool1::banana::dance3::cheer2::banana::cool1::banana::cool1:

We arrive Dec 23rd. I'm going to ship it around the 18th. I'd rather be safe then sorry. If it sits there for a few days it'll be fine. Its mostly going to be toiletries and Christmas decorations.

Yes, you can request the NO charging privileges- i know a lot of folks do this for their kids cards!

wow- that's a long trip! what like 18 days!! woo hoo- so jealous- you will get to see so much! where are you staying?

so what all do you keep in your owner's locked and about how much does it run you- how often do you go to disney? now that we are dvc, i think it might be worth exploring it for us too.

if anyone needs a packing list- i have a great one i can post up. plus has all the things to do the week/day before at your house etc. like stop the mail etc.

Please post that packing list. It will save the headache of me having to make one, :)

This will be our first trip using our DVC Locker. I'm mainly going to pack stuff that I can leave in Orlando and won't have to keep going back and forth with on each trip (ie: shampoo, towels (I'm pooh sized I need a bigger towel), other toiletry items, Christmas decorations, small 3 foot Christmas tree, unmentionables, t-shirts, shoes, (I have 3 pair of tennis shoes so I won't be missing them), corkscrew, and a whole lot more that I can't think of at the moment.

Its worth it to us because we go at least twice a year. We are going in December, May, and September. So it will help greatly. Less packing and more room for souvenirs! :) I know when we come back in May we'll definately be adding more to it because that trip we are driving.
