**Official December 2010 Thread!!** - PART 2!

At this time in 24 days we will be on our flight to Minneapolis then on to Disney World! I can't believe how quickly time has been flying. It's 25 degrees here today with a 13 degree wind chill, making me long for vacation even more. I just finished printing my big social studies methods project and organizing it in a binder last night and my mom saw it this morning and looked through it and told me she almost started crying thinking "that's my teacher" I decided to live at home while attending college and there's a good chance that I will be student teaching at the school that my mom went to growing up, this means that I will go stay with my aunt and uncle while hopefully being able to come back home every couple of weekends. I think it's finally starting to hit my mom that I will be leaving the nest soon, she told me she cried a few nights ago which almost got me crying. I'm looking forward to this next chapter in my life, but still kind of scared especially since I have no idea where I will be this time next year, chances are slim that I will get hired in my city's school district right away as there are few job openings each year, but I've never had my heart set on staying here forever, ideally I would like to teach in the town where I was born and lived for 8 years which is only a little over an hour away from here. This is such an exciting and transforming time in my life, it's hard to believe I only graduated from high school a few years ago, it doesn't help when I'm also going to be one of the youngest graduating from my college this coming spring, seems more and more that graduating from college in 4 years around the age of 22 is becoming less and less normal.

Anyways sorry for my rambling I know some people don't like those of us who don't stick to strictly disney talk only.

WOOOHOOOO one more hurdle down we survived Turkey day with everyone here. Now just DH's bday, DS's art Auction, Niece's bday, Christmas with my family, Hanukkah with inlaws, the kids band concert, and the class Christmas parties. Hopefully I will make it to WDW without falling over.

I feel like we're actually getting close! I pulled out all the suitcases today, put the new luggage tags on them, found the blow up beds, and organized everything on one side of my room.

They are all open and ready to be packed!:cool1:

Congratulations! Enjoy this time of your life, wherever it may take you! I was also a youngin' in college, graduating from a 4-year college shortly before my 21st birthday. I definitely left friends behind who were still figuring their college life out! It just means you get a nice jump-start in the real world. :)

I visited Disney for the first time when I was 23 (with my DB who is now my DH!). So who knows what good things are in store for you!

I have been so usy cramming in this last minute trip (well last minute for me since the past two trips have been planned almost a year in advance and this one only since the last week of july). I confess I am an over planner.
We will be there Dec 11-Dec 17 (11-14 at Pop- hopefully in 50s section) and (14-17 at Contemp MK view tower). This will be our sons :darth: 3rd trip (we brought him on his second -2006- and his fourth -2008- birthdays). The reason for this trip is to celebrate our daughters princess: 2nd birthday. We always go the second week of may so we are hoping for no worse crowd levels and hopefully slightly cooler weather (mommy wants to wear jeans so no bright white legs in pictures ) Her 1st birthday was totatally ruined because the day her big party was supposed to be is the same day the biggest snow storm we had in years started that morning and so no one could get out to go to her party, so this year we are leaving cold VA and hoping for bright sunny skies and no snow or rain so she can have a much better 2nd bday. I am excited to finally have an excuse to drag my DH and DS to the princess breakfast in epcot and 1900 park fare dinner with cinderella. So wish us lots of pixiedust: and I will do the same for all of you. I hope I get to meet lots of Dis memebers this trip - the past two trips I only saw 1 LGMH while waiting in line for dumbo.
Apparently, your D and I share our birthday! We'll be celebrating at V&A (I'm just a bit older than she is!). Unfortunately, I have to warn you - it snowed EVERY YEAR for my birthday party, not necessarily on my birthday, until I was about 14, and stopped having birthday parties! :cold:

Two weeks from right now I'll be headed to the airport!:banana::banana:
Me, too (as of today)!

Congratulations, and you're not the only one! My d will be graduating in May at 21. I know she's looking forward to the next phase, too, once she has a job, that is!

Hi all,

Happy Countdowning! i will be headed to WDW on Dec. 13th. I have visited the parks numerous times before, but mainly the 3rd week of August.

Can anyone comment on any major differences, especially on crowd levels. I have heard they are lower, but am not sure what to expect.

Thanks so much!

I am officially ready to go! Just 3 days/4 nights to go. Finished packing today, all the paperwork that needed printed is printed, camera memory cards are emptied and ready to refill, which park which day is decided, best way to get from place to place is planned. Now, just have 3 more days of work to get through without throttling anyone LOL.

Well, I went in December in '04 and '06 and the crowds were low, not completely dead, but our longest wait was 20-30 minutes. Then we went the last week of August in '08. It was horrendous! Between the heat, humidity and the crowds, we vowed never to go in August again. So it's December again this year. I've heard it's a little busier now than in previous years, but anything is better than August in my opinion.:santa:

Congrats on this next phase of your life! it is exciting!!! It took me 4.5 years for school, but only because Disney was calling me to come do the college program (okay, i was really calling them!!!). Getting out on your own will be great. I still see my parents at least every other weekend though. I don't look forward to the day my son moves out. of course let's see, he's 3, so i have a while to go. :rotfl:

We were there last year from Dec 10-20th. Crowds were not too bad. heavier than in past years, but still totally manageable. Weekends are a bit busier for MVMCP and osborne lights etc. as the locals come in, so try and do those on the weekdays instead. We still had a plan, used FP and i don't think we waited more than 20 minutes for anything. I know there were longer lines than that of course (TSM, Soarin etc.), but we usually hit those first or used FP and had no issues. it's a beautiful time of year to go!

woo hoo!!! :santa: safe travels you guys!

OMG, I couldn't do anything Disney related this weekend because I had my pseudo-son (nephew) staying with us and NOBODY knows we're going!:rolleyes1 I almost slipped and said something and then I was googling some directions for something I wanted to do on the way down and my DH caught me and asked if I had to do that "right now!" I was seriously going through withdrawals. Two weeks away and I can't mention DISNEY!:scared1:
So glad he went home tonight! I've got Disney stuff to do! Actually, I just wanted to say Disney out loud!:lmao:

I have 25 days til my trip and I have SO much to do between school, getting the house clean, getting things organized, packing, etc etc. I need to make a TO DO list tomorrow, seriously, :lmao:.

just another 23 days till i can enjoy one of these
