**Official December 2010 Thread!!** - PART 2!

Hey thenks for adding the Dole Whip meet to the first post... We need more DISers that will be at MK on the 16th!!!

Also can you change my ADR for Dec 16th, no longet Cape May, now Crystal Palace at 8:20am

Thanks

I haven't posted here in a few days, because it has gotten too depressing. We may not be able to go after all. The job that Dh was supposed to be placed in on Monday fell through. He hasn't started getting unemployment yet, and I am betting his mean old boss will fight it and I will have to get ugly.

I don't know what to do, I have to deal with all of this, but I am also dealing with my own anxiety, because I am not ready to be home on Christmas just yet, and we have no where else we could go. Everytime I think about it, I just want to cry.

Everyone is getting so close, I hope a miracle will head my way and save the day.

Suzanne
OH NO! I am so sorry! :grouphug: There is never a good time to lose your job, but right around the Holidays is the worst.

I truly hope you can find a way to take your trip, but being home for Christmas can be special, too.

Sending you TONS of pixie dust! :grouphug:

I really hate that we are going to miss it. We're trying to set up a meet for MVMCP for that night, too. Hopefully we'll see you guys around. We're going to try to get to the MK by 4. :thumbsup2

I'm pretty sure we are skipping MVMCP this year :sad1:

I'm so sorry to hear this and I truly hope that it will work out and you'll be comforted and provided for. :grouphug: I understand the anxiety of the unknown as we have been dealing with a health crisis my DH is going through. We're planning a slower pace version of our WDW trip and praying that it works out.

Hi Emma - will you add the 'DECEMBER DISers HOTEL" link that is in my sig to the first post as well? that way everyone can see how is going, when and their hotels.

tomorrow I am officially at a month out! Borrowed my sister's big suitcase. i forgot how huge this thing is. I could fit two small children in it! lol So hoping i can try and pack DH and I in it and then just take a small carry on for my son. We will see. I am striving to be a better packer this year!

Just watch out for how much that big suitcase weighs when packed. You don't want to be that person in line at the airport check-in frantically trying to repack when you discover your bag is overweight:scared1:

I use a Disney specialist TA so our documents don't arrive until about 2 weeks before we leave home. She came through just great twice last year so I'm not worried but it would be nice to have everything a month out like most of you have.

I can't start packing before Thanksgiving because we always host Thanksgiving dinner here and usually have our adult daughter staying in our guest room that week-end. But my packing list is ready! (To be adjusted at the last minute as weather forecasts are checked.)

:sad1:

This is our first (and probably only) time at Disney during Christmas, so we are trying to do everything. I hope the party is worth the extra $.

If we plan to do our meet early you could still hang out with us! :santa: If I end up planning it, I'll make sure we meet around 4 or 4:30ish so that you can be there, too!!!

:goodvibes

Same for us. Except we are skipping hte Candelight Processional as we are not Christian, and from my understanding it is the only really "religious" activity, the rest of Disney is all the secular Christmas, which we enjoy, even though it is not our holiday.

The party is fun, we did it last year. My only advice is to stick to party stuff... we wasted 45 min in line for the fairies last year but Emma really wanted to meet Tink.

Awesome thanks! That is our last day and our 3rd MK day so we will just be hanging out and doing whatever everyone wants!!!

That is one thing that I want to see but didn't book the reserved seating dinner. I just couldn't justify paying extra for something we could see free, but now I'm afraid we won't get in. I'm hoping there are lots of folks like you who want to skip it on the day we go. :upsidedow

I can't decide if we would have better luck trying to see Whoppi or SCC. :confused3 Anybody have a guess on who will be less of a crowd draw??? :confused3

If you guys don't mind, could you send a few prayers and pixie dust my way?

I am leaving now to go get a MRI on my ankle. They think my achilles tendon has deteriorated and I may need surgery.

Since I had an incarcerated hernia right before we were to leave for the airport in June that required us to cancel our trip so I could have emergency surgery, this new possible surgery is REALLY not good news. :guilty:

Hopefully all will be fine and the PT will work, but the doc wasn't very encouraging. :sad1: Either way, I'm going to BEG him to let me go to WDW. :thumbsup2

HUGS :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: I am so sorry Suzanne. I hope it all works out. what horrible timing huh? and i hate that you are having to deal with a nasty mean old boss too. at least if it was a happy parting of ways, it would make it a little better. you know you have all our hugs, prayers and support here on the DIS. keep us posted and let us know if you need anything!

I'm not on your list, we are there 12/11-12/17, Pop first night, then POFQ.
got you added:thumbsup2

Had to come on over to the new thread! How exciting! Can we reach our limit on this one in less than 2 months with pre and post comments?:woohoo:

Not long now...
i bet we can!! lol- we went to like 5 threads when i was on the pre DIS podcast cruise thread last year. this year's podcast threads are long too- i think on 5 or 6 again! (but not going this year, boo!).

I thought I was added onto the MVMCP list and the hotel list but I don't see me so I will post the info again since it is lost somewhere in the part one thread! :goodvibes

We will be there 12/10-12/17 at Pop Century, MVMCP on 12/14.

Also, it would be awesome if you could add the link for the Flashing Blinky Lights thread to the first post so that we could get the orders up!
got you added!:thumbsup2

I also didn't make the hotel list. We're going to be at the Contemporary from 12/12 - 12/18.:banana:
added :thumbsup2

We'll be at the Beach Club from the 15th to the 20th and are going to MVMCP on the 19th. I am so excited!

LOL- so true. i used to travel a lot on business, so i have seen that happen time and again- rushing to unpack stuff into a carry on to meet the weight. that is my worry too- this thing is HUGE! but i am going to do my best to not overload it. I am going to try and weight it at home first too, although won't be totally accurate, maybe give me an idea. plus, our flight is at 6:20am, so we will be checking in super early when hopefully there are not a ton of people if i do have to 'reorganize' a bit. WE are flying AA, so it is a $25 bag fee. i figure if we just check this one bag, we are good. There is me, DH and my 2yo son to pack for. I plan to ship his pull ups and wipes (still not potty trained) in advance, so we will just have clothes and toiletries in the bag. hopefully we can fit all of our stuff in there. i will let my son carry on his cute embroidered carry on (child sized) with some of his clothes. plus my backapack, stroller and booster seat (both of which will be checked at the gate). we have a washer/dryer in our room at BLT, so really focusing on NOT overpacking!

i am a MONTH OUT today! woo hoo- departure on December 4th!! :santa::santa::santa::santa::santa::santa::santa::santa:

Can't believe it. We've had this trip planned since our Dec trip last year! So it has been almost a full year in the making- ever since we officially bought DVC in February!

I am going to start packing some this weekend. I have kept my 'disney box' full of stuff, but now it is time to organize it a bit, make a list of what clothes i plan to wear/bring and figure out what i still need to buy.

oh and my ADRs are all back! woo hoo!

also hitting up the NEW disney store here in Dallas on Saturday afternoon. It just opened last week- it features the new interactive stuff- it's been closed for a long time now, so excited to see one of the new cool stores!

oh and bought my MVMCP tickets- we are official for 12/9.

now trying to figure if we want to add BBB for my niece or a haircut on main st for my son.

SCC is extremely popular. He has been doing it for awhile and is allotted the most days of any narrator. I assume Whoopi would be less crowded, but all shows are generally packed. For general seating, you would have to get in line so early to even get a chance at a seat (and some shows, they don't even have room for general seating). I would suggest just finding a good spot outside the theater and listening to the event, rather than trying to get in. Best wishes whatever you choose!

pixiedust:pixiedust::flower3::flower3:pixiedust: Sending lots of pixie dust your way! Hope everything goes well at the Dr's office. Just remember, there's always the scooter buggy rentals!:goodvibes
(I don't know why, but my fourth pixie dust never turns out right. I did this earlier and the same thing happened... it just comes out as the printed word... oh well.)

i agree- SCC is a huge draw. We chose Jodi Benson over Whoopi. My DH hates Whoopi for some reason. Now I see Susan Lucci is there during our trip, but oh well, too late now. I dvr AMC and watch it and I know my MIL would like seeing her. My MIL doesn't even know who Jodi Benson is. lol. anyhow- i would guess Whoopi might be a good night, although she has a huge following too of fans. If you can't get in- try and see the latest show- just go stand in the back behind the theatre. You can see close up if you use your zoom on the camera. and you can hear it very well from back there. We watched one song last year as we walked past the american pavilion.

If you guys don't mind, could you send a few prayers and pixie dust my way?

You have my hopes and best wishes. My mother had a similar conundrum and it was right before my sister's wedding. Luckily, she scared and intimidated the doctors enough to postpone the surgery until afterwards.

Here's to wishing you the same luck.
