She's frustrated. She expected herself to be better than she is and to learn it all faster. I used to teach one day art workshops. Some people would come in expecting themselves to get it right in ONE attempt. Then they'd compare themselves to me and say how awful they are.
I have to remind them I've been doing it for years and that the one step they see has hundred to thousands of hours of practice behind it. If they were that naturally gifted and could get it perfectly the first time they did it, that would have been discovered ages ago, and they'd be considered savants or geniuses at it. (Plus, it's an accidental insult to me & the other experts, who took years to master that step. We must be total idiots to have taken years to get right, when it "should" have been so easy to get in one try.

for continuing to encourage her and remind her she's not a quitter. I'd love to have him teach me at any time.
