Official Dancing With the Stars - Fall 2019

Spicer is horrifyingly bad. Just awful. With zero growth. He needed to go week one or two. I barely watch this show anymore because of last season, and now it's gotten even worse. Ugh.

I find it interesting that so many people are upset and surprised that a conservative could ever be likeable or get the votes. Interesting, but not surprising. Not surprising at all.
This is, and always has been, a voter participation show.
The problem I have is LEN. His negativity and downright open rudeness shown towards the host of the show is just not okay. It is not entertainment. This is not The Len Show. It very much is a Voters/voting show
Len is what the producers need to be addressing.

I LOVE Len!!!!

He's one of those tough teachers/coaches/mentors that have both a deep respect for their craft & a genuine fondness & care for their students/players/contestants.

He's tough but genuine.

Pleasing Carrie or Bruno is easy, but you really feel like you've achieved something special when you please Len. And I think there is a lot of respect for Len on the show.

Regarding Spicer, I don't care. The show has always had stars who can't dance but manage to make it through several weeks. Remember Bill Engvall?

In my opinion, the show's problem is they don't have the exciting & compelling choreography any more (a la Derek or Mark or Sharna), & chemistry is lacking between most of the stars & their pro partners.

Totally agree though I would add Cheryl in the mix. I was looking forward to the Halloween special and was completely bored by the choreography. I miss Derek and Mark's choreography!

I think the judges vote should count more and the viewers vote should just be the tie breaker, like the Dunkin' Save on AGT.

He would likely get saved every week by the vote though. I think the best solution is to have the judges scores have more weight in the standings as the season goes on. As it is, the judge scores really don't really seem to matter.

I don't mind a tough judge. That is great! It is the rudeness that gets me. There is a difference between tough and blatantly rude. I actually can watch Judge Judy, she is one tough ole bird!!!!
And, hey, you guys can respond to my comments, but it would be nice if you actually read them and didn't totally MIS-quote them.
You can try to put words in my mouth... nice try! Once again, I never said anything close to what you trying to use to quote me.

...There is a great Russian proverb from Star Trek: "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on ME." :sad2:
It is probably an Italian quote.
The Origin Of ‘Fool Me Once, Shame On You’

The earliest recording of this proverb in print is from a book called The Court and Character of King James by Anthony Weldon, 1651, where it reads:

“The Italians having a Proverb, ‘He that deceives me once, its his fault; but if twice, its my fault.'”

Based on the quote, it’s possible that this saying has an Italian origin. Whatever the case may be, what we do know based on the quote is that this phrase is over 360 years old, and it’s probably much older.

Nope, Nope, NOPE! Not fooling me into watching.

It's November Sweeps Week, like I told you gals. They NEED viewers to watch these next few weeks to keep the ratings up for ABC.

I nailed this a few weeks ago:
There will probably have to be a Dance Off to give him the boot. Unfortunately Nov Sweeps doesn't start this year until Oct 31st for a month, which, if they do one, I suspect, is when they might do it, or the week after. So there may be one or more weeks where a better dancer gets booted off first. During that time, a lot of people will be talking about the show and who is getting booted off instead. And probably what the producers and ABC heads always wanted. And what Tom was concerned would happen. :sad2:

Remember Spicers's fans don't have to even watch the show to vote for him. They just have to set their alarm clock to vote during the show.

THEN what probably will happen IF he still doesn't get booted off during a Dance Off, ABC & the exec producer hopes people will continue to talk on social media about him STILL being on the show, and what will it take to get him off? :confused3 :hyper2: As though talking about it on social media will bring in the ratings.

Don't fall for it. The ratings are dependent on who watches, not who votes. The REAL "vote" that makes a REAL difference is the viewer ratings vote (who is watching which channel during Nov Sweeps, not how many people vote on DWTS for which star gets to stay.) We as VIEWERS have the power these next few weeks. There's strength in viewer numbers. It seems counter-intuitive. Yet, when Spicer is gone, then ABC can see the viewership go back up again the following week as DANCE FANS come back for a real dance competition.

This wasn't an impulsive decision for me. I thought two weeks ago what I'd do if Spicer stays while better stars, who can really dance keep getting picked off. This isn't the kind of show I want to watch or back especially when we finally had a season of 8 really good stars who CAN dance, in which ANY of them could win. I encourage you to watch The Voice instead on NBC. (At least have your TV tuned to it, even if you don't watch.) Since almost everyone has cable boxes, the Neilsen ratings or whomever does the ratings, have a pretty precise number of who actually watches which shows, during the crucial primetime TV time slots from 8pm - 11pm.

LAST year, during Fall Premiere week, The Voice and DWTS were about equal in the number of viewers who tuned in to their premieres.

THIS year, probably due to the Bobby Bones fiasco, no show during the Spring season and seeing who has been cast this season, The Voice beat DWTS premiere week by 113% in total viewership. And The Voice remains about a million viewers ahead each week.

Vote with your viewership vote. Heck, even watch the Hallmark channel instead. They finally started their Christmas movie season :santa: where we are guaranteed feel good endings. :cloud9:

I know I'm the only one here tonight, but I love Kel and that dance was out-of-this-world good. The first 10 of the season! He deserved all 10's in my opinion.

I feel bad that I'm watching, but I only really watch this show and This Is Us.

I just started watching.

Sean: Even Sean’s intro at the start of the show was lame. I liked his comments about being in the Navy and living the water to tie in with his song. Lots of stomping. Liked the high kicks in the line with the sailors. Poor Jenna doesn’t have the same ability to dance around Sean. The sailors worked at that. I actually liked the high energy of the dance. Loved Len’s comments.

Kel deserved 10's iMO I don't like the pop star. She's definitely being propped this season. Bleh!
