I spoke to a CM last night while making other ADR for my trip 12/7/13 to 12/15/13 and she stated "her schedule in front of her showed they would be taking reservations for the holidays & the dates I would be there. That I just needed to be diligent in checking the blogs " maybe they are going to announce it on Monday ??? Who knows I'm tired of calling every day, I'm sure everyone else is as well :)

Do we have any idea as to what month they may open yet? We are going in October and has been an anniversary tradition to eat here!

Is there a reason you guys aren't checking online? Do you think they will do it over the phone before online?

Online just says "not available" right now. Calling gives you a chance to ask the CM if they have any info on it.

Waiting and hoping for a reservation....

I call because I have all of my ADR planned so as soon as CG is open for booking then they will have to cancel a couple of my prior dinning reservations that I had made just incase CG didn't open. Plus I just like dealing with the CM, sometimes they give you new info on certain events/restaurants.

Oooo, I'll be there during those dates, too! Hoping to have a magical dinner for 2 at CG the day after our wedding :-). We'll keep watching!

If we were club level I would have passed my list to them and not given it another thought. They are very fast and might have an edge - never heard them not able to get someone something on the day their reservations opened.

IPO used to have an edge, but they don't anymore. :sad2: They are fast though, and the staff might see on The Hub (internal Disney site) when they will start taking reservations. Worth a shot! :goodvibes

I wouldn't rely too much on club level. Last time we stayed GF club level, I asked them to keep an eye out for a Le Cellier ADR. I lucked out one day and found one and booked it myself. I really thought they would have seen it first.

In case anyone was interested. The CM I spoke to said they check on the reservation requests twice a day, in the morning and late afternoon. She mentioned it wouldn't be a bad idea to keep a look out myself also. So that's what I'll do!

I'm checking online via the "My Wish List" section of MyDIsneyExperience. It still gives me this blurb:

As part of our continuing efforts to exceed the expectations of our Guests, California Grill is currently closed for enhancements. Please check back here for the latest updates and information about when it will reopen.

But it still allows me to check my date before it tells me that there are no tables available between 5 pm and 10 pm.

That's what I got again, this morning. Will try again tomorrow. Once of these days..................:teeth:

:scratchin just wondering how much longer :)

Just wondering if anyone has made reservations at Narcoosees as a back up if the CG isn't open when they are there? I made one ADR hope I'm not disappointed with Narcoosees :) anyone else in the same boat ?

Yup, that is our backup. Not sure if it is worth the 2 CS and I would really rather go to California Grill but with only 1 month and 9 days, I have little hope. At least Narcossee is booked and hopefully has some good ambiance, food and view. One can hope. Why did you do Narcoosee? Did someone suggest it. I guess it should be good. But then again, maybe we'll luck out and see CG open. When are you going?

Yes. My backup is Narcoossees. Not sure how good the fireworks viewing is. Any comments about the view? Is it worthwhile or should i just eat at F&W that night? I was planning to go to the eat to the beat concert first and then watch Hallowishes at 9:30 from CA Grill.

Yes, a CM on the phone suggested it as being very similar to CG with the exception of no sushi :( however I'm not holding my breath because I'm very partial to CG dinning ! We will be there 12/7 to 12/15 so surely the CG will be open to reservations by then, but you never know!! Just wishing for pixie dust this week for CG :)

Narcoossee's is definitely on our rotation of signature dining, with CG and Citricos. It is nice to watch the fireworks from the outdoor dock there; like CG, it's better to go outside than try to watch from your table. The feel of the restaurant is different-- it is smaller and feels more "seaside" in its decor. The food is based on seafood and meats, along the line of CG. However, it does not have special apps like the CG flatbreads or sushi.
