I have been perusing the cake thread, yum! Help me figure out what to order. I am taking an adult trip with mom (65) and sister. My mom has survived breast cancer twice. I really just want to let her know how much she means to me. ( My dad died 6 months ago..mom has been remarried for over 20 years so she isn't his widow...it just made me realize how precious life is!) My mom is also diabetic, though not insulin dependent. She watches what she eats, but not religiously. She had dessert at our house for Thanksgiving. Anyway, I was thinking of a small cake or mini cake type thing and one that maybe has the breast cancer ribbon on it.. We are having dinner at Narcoossee the last night and will watch the water parade and Wishes from there ( our reservation is at 7:05, Wishes at 8). We leave the next day. I don't want a big cake, because it is just the three of us and what will we do.. The slipper with a ribbon?? Help me. We're going in January.

I don't think you need help. That sounds perfect. Maybe you could also do a few chocolate covered strawberries. They always look pretty though personally I don't like them.

Ok... here it is. Our Christmas cake from 1900 Park Fare this past Tuesday.
It was an 8" white cake with chocolate buttercream and red fondant with Christmas decorations. It was $80.00 plus tax and gratuity. So.. it was about $100 after it was all over. It was a good cake and was BEAUTIFUL!!! We did not want to cut into it! We took it back to our resort and ate it the next day. I would be happy to answer any questions.

Finally getting to it....
Our cake, I had ordered a small 6 inch cake from Jiko at AK Lodge for delivery to our room in Kidani Village on our arrival date of 11/8/09. It was only 4 adults. Cake was adorable, just what I asked for and very very good. $80.00, white cake, chocolate buttercream filling with vanilla buttercream under the fondant.
Isn't it adorable?!

Can you tell me how you ordered that cake? Was it through the cake hotline? I wasn't going to order a cake but if I can get one delivered to our villa I just might have to. Can you remember what the options were as well. Thanks so much

That Disney holiday cake is beautiful! And I can't lie.. the picture of the inside of it made me drool slightly..

Planning for spring trip - Just returned and had an awesome cake at 1900 Park Fare.
Was going to do another there - but then my daughter said it would be nice to do her bday cake when we eat at WCC, and she wants a Jessie cake, and thought that would be an appropriate place.
So... can this be done? Do they have a bakery at WL and do custom cakes or do they do them elsewhere?

thanks!

I would love to know what answers you get. My son wants his birthday at WCC in May and I want to order a custom cake.

Who seems to be putting out more consistent cakes recently, CR or GF? We're heading down in June and will be celebrating our 20th anniversary and I'm torn between ordering a cake when we're at Chef Mickey's with our kids or waiting til it's just the 2 of us at Citrico's. I want to do a "20 Years of Magic and Mayhem" theme but don't know what I want it to look like. LOL!

Any of you cake wizards have creative ideas?

I broke down last night and ordered a cake from YC to be delievered to our YC room this Thurs 12/10.
It was a pretty crazy phone call to private dining...

First of all, I said I would like a cake with an edible image and was told to get that would be a 10inch cake and I was looking for a 6inch or 8 at the most.
She also said it would cost around $100 when all is said and done with the cake, decorations, and delievery to the room

scratch that...

So HOPEFULLY I will end up with a 6 inch with christmas colors and it saying "Merry Christmas". I really would have liked it to say "Merry Christmas W.. Family" but the CM spoke little English and even had to call me back twice to confirm the colors, my last name, and expiration date on my CC so HOPEFULLY we get a cake on 12/10 after 6:30 pm...

Has anyone had trouble like that before?? If we don't get a cake it won't be the end of the world but we'll see what happens!

I am ordering a custom cake for My DS 5th bday at WCC in January. The bakery at WL is limited in what they can do, so if you have something in mind that is beyond their capabilities than they will have the bakery at CR do it and have it delivered to WL. I ordered a 10" cake Mickey mouse clubhouse theme that the CR is sending over.

Quick question.

I ordered a Cinderella slipper for our breakfast at the GF. Since then I have been able to get a dinner reservation at Narcoossee's for another night. Can I switch my slipper from GF breakfast to Narcoossee's dinner? Do I just call them back and ask?

We are not going until the week between Christmas and New Year's.

Just back yesterday from 7 days at the world...
I did get the cake delivered to the room on my husbands Birthday but it was NOT good. It was decorated very genericly (is that even a word ;))..and it wasnt fresh.:guilty: However I called Private dining at the wilderness lodge and they did refund me the cost.:thumbsup2
I will post a pic in a few minutes..uploading now...

Sorry you were disappointed.

I am lurking this thread. I'm hoping order a cake for my birthday next month. Last year I got the run around and didnt end up ordering.

Is the Glass Slipper Dessert only available at GF or CRT? Could I get it at Crystal Palace?

TIA! :wizard:

I was wondering, fellow cake lovers, what the GF bakery might do with a "space mountain"-themed cake? Any one have any ideas they could share with me about what I could more specifically ask for?

Thanks for sharing your cake-creativity!!!

Just ordered a mickey head cake for our chrismas brunch with mickey! Oh i can't wait!!!! Ordering was very quick and easy. :)
