I think the Contemporary Bakery will be able to create this for you. Just let the cast member that is taking your order know exactly what you want. I have total confidence in the bakery team there!:cool1:

Thank you...I'll give a call tomorrow. Just want to try and make it as special as I can for DH since I know this will be a hard trip for him.

Too cool. :thumbsup2

Just had a pleasant experience ordering our anniversary cake!

Got Sally for the Contemporary/WL/POFQ/POR resort restaurants and she was so helpful!

Ordered the exact cake above, but with our wedding flowers, peach roses and lilacs.
Also, I ordered lemon cake with bavarian cream filling. May regret that, but
hey! everything that comes from the disney bakery seems to taste pretty darn good
to me! Plus, I bet it'll be fresh!

She put me on hold, then told me she'd call me back to check with the head baker, Brian. LOL ;)
Called me back in 10 minutes with a great price. $55. what a deal! :cloud9:

Can't wait until Sept 17th!:yay:

Thank you so much for helping me, CakemanBri!!!!!!

Oooh, I can't wait to see pictures of your cake. I'm going for the Strawberry with bavarian cream filling, but yours sounds so good... maybe I'll switch... will you try to take pics of the inside, too?

CakemanBri is awesome... maybe I should ask *beg* him to help me design my bday cake- hee hee ;)

We ordered a customized Dairy Free Cake last year at GF. We thought it tasted pretty good. Hmmm....i'll have to go back and look, I think it was chocolate cake. She did say we were more limited on the options for fillings thought.

Thanks for the info. I guess I really need to call to find out. :goodvibes

Several years ago I ordered this special dessert at Boma for my father's birthday through AKL in room dining (we were staying at OKW). Any idea if they still have things like this - for us, this works better than cake.

Oops -- I see I can't post photos yet.

It was a fence made of pretzel sticks with two chocolate giraffes peeking over the top and it also had a chocolate Animal Kingdom Lodge sign. We added a dozen zebra strawberries and they wrote "Happy Birthday Dad" on the platter.

If anyone knows what I am talking about, I'd appreciate info.

Thanks!

Has anyone had a cake delivered to their room at the CR with a monorail theme? Maybe with the chocolate monorail on top? Trying to get an idea as I'd like to order an anniversary cake for DH for 18 great years.

I wanted to stay away from the traditional "anniversary cake" on this thread as we had that last year for his parents. It was great, but we recently lost my DMIL and I think it might actually make DH kind of sad, especially since this will be our first trip without them.

He loves the monorail, and it will be our first time staying at the CR. Looking for something just a little fancy (maybe with fondant.)

Thanks!

Ty

Please, please, please post what you find out. My Dad is a monorail junkie and we are staying at the CR for half of our trip and I was going to get him the chocolate monorail but since it's in white chocolate, I know he won't want to eat it. The idea of having it atop a cake is fabulous. He's been so great with my mom and her stroke that I want to do something special for him too (since the trip is to celebrate my mom learning to walk again).

I plan on ordering her a cake with a slipper on top from the GF (staying there the other half of the trip) so it would be nice to do something equally great for him.

I read on the old cake thread that you could order a cake from Boardwalk and have it delivered to Saratoga Springs Resort as long as you picked it up from the SSR to take to your room. Does anyone know if this is still true? (I think the post was from January) Does it cost anything for the delivery?

Just thought I would share this in case anyone else has the same question. I spoke with Terry at SSR and she stated that they use Boardwalk Bakery for cake orders since SSR does not have their own bakery. She said I could order the cake through her and they would bring it from Boardwalk to Artists Point where we could pick it up and that there was no additional charge for doing this. Now I just need to decide if we want a cake from the Contemporary when we eat at Chef Mickeys or if we want one from the Boardwalk Bakery. :goodvibes

One more question:
If you want a custom cake and have a picture of what you kind of want it too look like, do you email it to them at the GF? What's the best way to go about this?

I believe that's what others have done in the past, and I know for our cakes, I sent the GF Bakery pictures via my event planners. But when you start talking with Pat, she'll let you know the best way. :thumbsup2

We are comming in Oct and in Jan Oct is Aniversary and Jan is belated birthday. In Oct we are staying for 5 nights at Kidani. Hubby is a diabetic and I am not. Not that I need a big cake all to my self. We are going on a cruise after each stay. For the one in Oct I have ordered 8 chocolate covered strawberries for our 8 years to be delivered at Sanaa. I always order the strawberries for the ship but thought I would change it up a bit. Iasked for happy anniversay and Bon Voyage. I am big minnie fan and thought while we were there going to the boardwalk to order the cake for Jan. In Jan we will stay 3 nights. How can we consume the Mickey cake in 3 days if it feed that many people? What kinda of icing does it have. I like the type of icing in the cans. does the icing taste like that? Have not decided where to eat for my B'day. Chef Mickey or Gran Floridian Cafe, or Capt;s Grill. Any ideas.

I need some creative help!!

We will be celebrating ds's 5th bday and dd's 3rd bday. I wanted to do a cake for the two of them but, am stumped for ideas. When I ask either one of them, they don't really have any ideas. They like all things Disney.

Any ideas on a theme for the 2 of them?

We have ADRs at Chef Mickey's and 1900 PF, although I think ds would prefer his celebration at Chef Mickey's.

How about a pirate and princess theme?
I think thats what i'm going to try to get for my DS10 and DD4 trip in september. We are eating at 1900 PK and the GF seem to do the more elaborat cakes.

But if they like all things Disney the possibilities are endless....

I'll let you know when I hear something. When I called Private Dining, they suggested I email the chef/baker directly. Unforturnately, the person they gave me is on vacation for about ten days. I called them back and they said others would be checking that persons email, so we'll see.

Why not get a Mickey Head cake at Chef Mickeys? It can be for both of them! Can't go wrong with Mickey and its a cool cake!

Call back tomorrow after 10am eastern time!

I did it....orderd an 8 inch chocolate cake with dark chocolate mousse filling and white buttercream frosting (so the chef can tint blue whatever portion he needs to). Bon Voyage theme (Disney Magic). Pat said they hadn't done one before. They have done beach themes, but nothing for a cruise. I'm very excited to see how it turns out. :woohoo:

Shhh, it's a suprise...only one of my cruise-mates knows about it.

(Oh, $62)

.

Been reading this board for weeks and months. Saw and feel in love with the tinkerbell cake on the board. I finally got a return call from Pat this evening got everything all set. 10 inch marble with custard and strawberry filling, chocolate buttercream frosting under the fondant.

I left the creative details up to her. She may end up duplicating the cake on this boards but add additional flowers and colors or change the fondant colors completely. I just told her DD was a girly girl that loves tinkerbell, pinks, purples and greens.

I am so excited.

Any advice is appreciated. MY dd is going to be turning 3 on our next Disney trip. If ADR's work out we will have an appt at the BBB in MK @ 0800. Breakfast at 0930 at CRT. An evening bday dinner at Crystal Palace around 1830. I would like to have a cake done for dinner. Gracie has requested the Little Mermaid although that may change 25 times between now and then. Does anyone have cool pics of Little Mermaid cakes? Thanks

I know exactly what you are talking about and when we were there last May I asked about that exact goody. I was told that they don't do that anymore. I could order a cake, cookies, strawberries, etc. I opted for a treat that had cookies, brownies and a chocolate elephant and sign. I was around $50-something and delivered to the room.

Here is a picture -

I was looking through the awesome cake thread.

Does anyone know if they will deliver to POFQ rooms?

If not where is the Boardwalk Bakery? Not familiary with the shops there :(

As you hit the BW entrance there should be a stairway to your right. Go down those stairs then as you get to the boardwalk portion hang a right. Go down past the candy shoppe and Spoodles and the bakery is just past it and before you get to the ESPN club. In the mornings you can smell the fresh baked goods all over BW....mmmmmmm
