Most of the deluxe resort can get a hold of at least a Mickey statue. I got one at the Boardwalk resort by calling their in-room dining.

You would call the resort directly (in-room dining) to see what they can do.

Also, some stores sell them. I saw a couple of them at a cafe in Disney studios where we stopped for some hot chocolate and choc chip muffins.

Also, at Christmas time, the Gingerbread house at GF sells them.

Oh, ok. Thank you! :) We're staying at the WL so I hope they do it.

What about at Cinderella's Royal Table? Thanks!:goodvibes

Has any one ordered a cake from The Contemporary? We are staying there and I would prefer to just have it delivered to the room so we don't have to carry it around or return to the resort. However I have been hearing some of the best are from YC/BC and we do have dinner at Cape May but that is late in the trip. Or even the Poly since we have dinner our second night at Ohana. TIA!

I'd like to know about this also. TIA

We havent had pictures in a while. Does anyone have any new cake pictures they can post?

I just called the hotline and spoke to the person that handles the MK cakes and she said they don't have anywhere for me to pick up a cake and that I would have to have a reservation at one of the MK restaurants. I could have sworn I read that we could pick one up from the bakery on Main St. Is that not correct?? If I can't pick one up there, my only option for picking one up is at the Boardwalk Bakery?

MK Bakery used to have a few ready made cakes that you could pick up. Sounds like they may no longer even have those anymore.

I've never heard of anyone actually ordering a cake there and then picking it up.

That leaves only the Boardwalk Bakery or offsite.

Just got off the phone with Pat to order my anniversary cake for our dinner at Narcoossees. I left her a voicemail yesterday & she called back within 24 hrs. I know others have reported problems with ordering cakes from GF bakery lately but I had no problems.

I order a 10" chocolate cake with amaretto mousse filling, & white buttercream. She didn't seem fazed by the special request filling or indicate she needed to check 1st to see if it could be made. I'm trying to recreate my wedding cake (not from Disney) so hence the special flavor. I also asked for the the top to have fresh strawberries (Pat suggested 6 & I agreed), white wedding cake swags on the sides, & the red mickeys (aka hidden mickey shape). I didn't have mickeys on my wedding cake, but it is Disney after all! It did cost a bit more than I had hoped to spend. The total was $90. $45 for the cake, $30 for the decorations (seemed a bit pricey for a few swags & mickeys) & $12.50 for the strawberries. She said it would be charged to my credit card the day of delivery. I thought it was usually charged to the dinner bill? I was hoping that would be the case because I have a TIW card & would have received a 20% discount. Oh well we'll see what happens.

I'll be sure to take pics & post when I return. Thanks for all the wonderful info & pics on this thread! :worship:

It should be on your bill with your dinner and you should be able to use the TIW card. I did a couple of years ago and I haven't heard that it's changed.

I just ordered a cake for my son's birthday at the GF.

I spoke with Pat ~ I guess Linda is no longer there?

Pat was super super nice! We spoke for a long time :goodvibes

The plan is to make a Pirate fondant cake ~ nothing babyish as my son is 12. Skull cross bones ...she said something about a chocolate pirate ship :confused3 has anyone seen a chocolate pirate ship on a cake?

NO flowers ~ she said they can do it in blacks and reds and whites. I am excited and can't wait to see what shows up!

I am a little frustrated with the cake order hotline. Everytime I call...I get the recorded message telling me the hours and to leavea message:confused3

My ADR's aren't until July...but still.. Any tips???

Where are you calling?
Are you wanting a custom specialty cake or the small podium ones? I do have a contact for the GF bakery. I am not sure if it would help you. Where are you wanting the cake? What kind of cake?

I thought that I read that too about picking it up at Mk Bakery. I had thought about doing that as well. My sister is concerned that if we do a cake at 'Ohana, we wont get the dessert there. Does anyone know? Plus, after all of that food, who is going to want B'day cake? :rotfl2: I had thought about picking one up earlier in the day and having it in her room when she gets back from the park. I'm not crazy about taking the time to go to the Board Walk and then back to POR.

Any ideas or advice?

I'm pretty sure it is no longer the case....you can now get both Pixar and Pooh characters on cakes. :thumbsup2

I think the most frustrating thing about the Cake Hotline is how ten different people seem to get ten different answers about some things. They told us a couple weeks ago that they still can't do any Winnie the Pooh characters. Calling back next week to place our order, so I'll double check then. We were originally interested in a Winnie and Tigger cake, but had been told they couldn't do it.

I ordered our cake yesterday with Pat. We had played a week of phone tag but she was very nice when I talked to her. I told her what I wanted and she tried to keep giving me a smaller cake since less would be wasted, but I had and idea and wanted to stick with it. I asked for fresh rasberries and the rasberry mousse, but she said they could not do that. So I went with a choc. cake, fresh rasberries mixed with the bavarian cream and choc. ganoush. On the top will be a Cinderella Slipper sitting on red sugar roses. And around the bottom there will be 4 choc. covered strawberries. This is for my mom for mothers day so we tried to make sure we got alot of her favorites on the cake. I let Pat know we have ordered before and our order got lost and she said not to worry, that she would make sure the cake is ready and beautiful. She was very nice to speak with and seemed to be concerned about getting my order right. She read it back about 4 times to make sure we got all the details right.

So here is what she told me for prices.

For just the slipper it would be $25, which I thought was alot being it is only around $14 to buy it by itself.

For the slipper and the flowers it will be $30.

The cake itself is 8in and will be $35.

The Choc. cover strawberries are $3. dollars a piece.

She told be my total would be $65, but I do not think that includes the strawberries.

I cannot believe I am spending this much for a cake and my DH is going to kill me, but it is Mother's day and my mom means the world to me. She has given me so much, so it is worth it. She has no idea and keeps trying to get info. from my dad and I because she thinks we are up to no good. I will make sure to take pics so everyone can see how it looks.

I bet that total doesn't include the strawberries. Pat had originally told me the total for my cake would be $75 then a few minutes late remembered the strawberries & said they would be an additional $15. I also can't believe I'm spending $90 on a cake! :scared1: But it is a special occassion & I really wanted it to look like our wedding cake. I hope DH likes it after all the time I've spent thinking about it & planning it!

Looking forward to seeing & hearing about your cake when you get back.
