Sorry they gave you a hard time. I had no problem with the Boardwalk Bakery when I called to order our anniversary cake.

:headache:Okay, that didn't work. :headache:I'm still being pushed into the standard cake that I don't want!!! I was given a number for the "Custom Order" person, her name is Pat. I guess I'm back to waiting for her to call me back!

Were they nice about telling you the choices for fillings and frostings and so forth? The lady at GF bakery was VERY unattatched and didn't care. It seemed inconvenient that she would even have to tell me. I'm not feeling any Pixie Dust so close to my trip. I hope some will be sent my way!!!:sad1:

No they didn't give me a hard time...but I knew what filling and cake I wanted. Our wedding cake was from the bakery. It was funny because she remembered our wedding cake. We were the only couple to have a chocolate chip cake LOL. Anyway I did not feel like I was a bother while on the phone with them. They were extremely helpful.

I'm sorry they are treating you like that. I can't stand the GF because of the way I was treated when I was calling about personalized menus and other things for our wedding luncheon at the GFC. The manager had horrible communication and was rude so I feel your pain. I don't think they have friendly customer service in that place at all. Anyway..sorry for my vent lol.

Hopefully they will call you back and if they don't then keep calling.

Looks Great, did this cake have filling?? Is it vanilla and chocolate?

This cake was a vanilla/chocolate marble with the filling in between the layers. I honestly can't remember if it was buttercream or whipped icing. I remember asking for the "less sweet" of the two. It was (going on memory now so I might not be 100% correct) a 10" cake and ran $45 + tax/gratuity. Four adults and two kids ate of it for a week and it was tasty and moist the entire week.

I'm trying to order a birthday cake from the GF bakery for my DD's birthday dinner at 1900 Park Fare. I want something a little more than the standard 6 or 8 inch cake. I would like it customized. When I called the bakery, the lady was pushing me to order the standard cake, and played the idiot when I said I would like something more custom. She then referred me to someone else who I had to leave a voicemail with. First, will this woman call me back since I'm long distance, and second, Should it be this hard?:confused3

We ordered a custom cake for DD's bday at 1900 Park Fare. I called the cake hotline and had to leave a message. The person that called me back was very helpful. Told her we needed a custom cake with Ariel on it and she went over my options. Hopefully when you get a call back they will be more cooperative.

Does anyone know if I can have a cake delivered to TRex?
No. they will not. We were going to have my DS birthday lunch here and the girl who took our ressie said we would have to bring our own cake. She suggested Goodings across the street............lol

Quoting myself...

anyone?

The 10 inch cake will serve 16. And if you request the strawberry fillings they will check with the chef to see if it is doable.

This is the cake we ordered for our twin DS's in March:

Price: $48per
Date Received: March 11, 2009
Location: Chef Mickey's
Cake info - White cake with white buttercream icing on the inside, chocolate on the outside.
Anything else special about that particular cake: This cake was really good. Extremely moist and not overly sweet. My DH and kids snacked on it all week.

might ound strange but do you have any photos of the inside?? Also, what' around the edge of the cake and is the outside more like a ganache?

Okay, as we get closer I am starting to re think my cake choice. Does anyone know if they can do fondant with the edible image?? For my son's cake I really wanted lime green fondant with the monorail image. The lady from O'hanas has been short with me and not helpful at all-I feel very rushed when I do talk to her.

Also we are staying at The Wilderness Lodge and I was wondeing if they can do a cake delivery there too?? Its also my mom's birthday and I was thinking of getting her one of the mini-wedding cakes in Red Velvet delivered to the room. Could they do that there??

She will get back to you and she is great when she does. :goodvibes

I did the same as you I left two messages and then she called back. When she did she was super efficient and friendly - hang on in there.

Oh and she called me here in the UK.

does anyone know if we could get a cake that is safe for someone w/peanut & tree nut allergies?! desserts are very limited and a special cake would be ideal! :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I feel so much better about all of this. Not that it's right, but I'm glad I'm not the only one that seem's to be an inconvenience to the "bakery people"!!! :headache:

I ordered our cake for Easter dinner at California Grill...not too much to choose from, but I ordered a chocolate cake with white chocolate filling and whipped cream icing. I asked to have fresh berries on the top, I'll be sure to post a photo & info when we get back.

I've tried to read through all the pages here, but I need some pics of something that would be appropriate for a 50th birthday! I want to take my mom to Citricos or Narcoossee's for her 50th, and get some sort of specialty cake. Show me what you got!

What's the diferrence between the whipped cream and buttercream? Is one of them sweeter than the other?

Ive been through about as much as the cake threads as I can stand without falling over from exhaustion. I am looking for pictures of any and all cakes with Ariel. I think this is what I may do for our cake at Disney. Can you post your pictures on here to give me some ideas. Thanks!
