really? its back on page one of one of the locked cake threads. perhaps theyve done away with it now.

You can pretty much get any cake you want at the GF. I don't think they have a specific Anniversary cake. They have a double tier mini wedding cake but not seen a standard Anniversary cake.

I definitely want to get the Mickey cake for DS when we are there. We will be there from a Saturday-Saturday and DS's birthday is on Thursday. I am thinking about ordering the cake earlier in the week during dinner instead of his actual birthday dinner so we have all week to devour it. What do you think?? :confused3

DD's birthday is arrival day but I will be getting her the chocolate slipper dessert.

This thread has a few anniversary cakes but they are all custom ordered.

I have seen many anniversary cakes but not a standard one. I think some of the standard GF cakes are the Mickey Head cake, the mini castle cake, and the two tiered mini wedding cake. Anyone else?

So maybe I should order it the Sunday we get there and then on Thursday hope he gets a birthday cupcake. I would hate to get this cake on Thursday for dinner and then throw 3/4 of it away Saturday morning when we leave. :sad2:

Where are you going for his bday? If you tell all the restaurants you are going to he will get s birthday surprise at all of them! You could order the cake at the beginning and eat on it all week but the birthday cupcakes will keep coming!

Getting a cupcake, or other birthday surprise, is not guaranteed at the restaurants unless you order something.

I'm planning Tusker House bf and Ohana's dinner on the actual day of his birthday. His birthday is that Thursday. I will probably get the Mickey head cake on day 2 when I plan on doing CM's. :goodvibes

Hey! We're celebrating DS 4th B-day while we're there. When I made my ADR's, the super nice CM put a note on my ressies for all of the places where will be dining that it's DS B-day so he'll get a cupcake or something. We're having a party for him at CM our first night there. I had seen the pictures of the Mickey head cakes from CM (the one with the chocolate Genache outside). However, I saw the one on he actual Disney Orlando web-site and fell in love with the hand-piped face:love: (looks more reall IMO:rotfl2:) DH laughed at me calling it "more real" as if Mickey IS real!:rotfl2: I called the CR last week and spoke to a girl named "Eadie" she was really nice and gave me the e-mail to the Chef at the CR and said to send a pic of what I wanted. I waited a week but never heard back from them so I called back today. Eadie was there and told me that "Jessie" the chef was really busy but "Brian" was the assistant and that she would ask him. She put me on hold for about 5 minutes and came back and said that Brian looked up my e-mail and said that the cake I wanted was like the one that they make over at the GF but that he could do it no problem, SAME price as the other Mickey head cake!!! She said it would be $48. I'm so excited!! If you prefer that cake, let them know.... Here's a pic of the cake and the direct number to private dining (ask for Eadie or Brian) is 407-824-2955. HTH! Thanks, April

Thanks! I think we will do the other one with the ganache because DS loves chocolate. LOVES It! I will be sure to save that info you just gave me though!

Our plan is to check in on Saturday which is DD's birthday. Do BBB, lunch at CRT and get her the chocolate slipper.

Sunday have dinner at CM's and get the Mickey cake for DS that day.

DS's birthday is Thursday but I don't want to get a cake so close to checking out that Saturday.

I think that sounds good. I would get DD a cake but two cakes is a bit much. She will be thrilled with the chocolate slipper I'm sure. :goodvibes

Does anyone know if it's possible to get the chocolate mickey statue & tuxedo strawberries delivered to the Wishes speciality cruise, we are getting on the boat at the GF & I would like to have it on board as a surprise for my dh.

If so who would I call to arrange it? Thanks in advance. :flower3:

Can I still order the glass slipper dessert for CRT? Is it big enough for two? DD's will celebrate her 8th birthday there but don't want youngest dd5 to not get any cake!! Should I order two slippers?

It should be no problem - just call Private Dining at the Grand Floridian, as they would be the ones to arrange for and deliver food to the Marina there: 407-824-2474

Yes - just to clarify, and not to be cheeky, but it's the chocolate slipper you want, right? Because they also do a glass slipper as part of the engagement package, but it doesn't come with anything edible! :)

From most of the pictures in this thread, it appears that the chocolate slipper comes on top of a piece of cake, with berries and chocolate sauce around it. So maybe they could split that part and the Birthday Girl could eat the slipper?

lurkyloo, this is O/T, but that is a beautiful slide slow in your sig. Is that your wedding? Wonderful pics.

Thank you so much! :goodvibes That is our wedding in Morocco at Epcot.

Well, she said yes, again.

We went down for our 25th anniversary. I had an anniversary ring that I brought down with us. I talked to the Disney florist and ordered a glass slipper on top of the flowers. The Once upon a time package. I asked for anything lavender and silver since lavender was her wedding color and silver for the 25th. I had it delivered to the Crystal Palace. I had my sons keep her, with camera and video camera ready, but the hub in front of Cindy's place. Picked up the slipper, put the ring in it, and went to find them. Found them, snuck up behind, moved in front of her, dropped to one knee and asked. After the tears slowed down, she said yes.

So, we had our vow renewal done the next afternoon in our room at the BCV. It was very nice. Then we went to our dinner reservation at the Yachtsman Steakhouse. Very nice touch to have them give us each personalized menus and a card signed by many of the characters! Didn't expect or ask for that. After an excellent dinner, they brought out our cake that I had ordered. Since this was the first time for me ordering a custom cake, I think it turned out well. I would specifically ask for no fondant next time, but it was very nice.

Cake was $75.

Yachtsman Steakhouse from the Beach Club Bakery I believe.
10" Fondant over white buttercream
Cake was a white cake
Filling was white chocolate with strawberries
White chocolate Mickey with a silver bowtie
