I have found the cake I want for our trip at an outside the world bakery. If I bring it to our dinner can they hold it in the kitchen and then bring it tableside after dinner? I am willing to pay a service fee within reason.:confused3

I highly doubt it. Most restaurants will not allow outside food and drink into the kitchens b/c of possible health code violations. I don't think any Disney restaurants will allow it.

Does any know or ever seen an Ice cream cake? My daughter is not so much a fan of cake but loves ice cream. Just wondering for her bday if that would be possible or if they could just do an ice cream sundae for her. Was thinking of either dining at Chef Mickey's or 1900. Is this even a possibility?

I doubt that they would do that because all they have is soft ice cream and it is part of the buffet. You could tell them its her birthday and they will bring her a birthday cupcake. They have a dessert bar that has a self-serve ice cream station.

To answer my own question lol I went to the mouse! I called the cake line and I can bring my own cake I just can't have it in their kitchen. They will bring me all the utensils and plates etc but can't serve it.:yay:

I just called the cake line and ordered a cake for our upcoming trip. I got a cake for DS's 3rd b-day. I told them that he liked Mickey, Donald and Goofy and gave them free-reign. I told them that I do not like edible decals though. So, it may just have the colors. I'm not sure. Either way, DS will love it. He's been excited all morning (since I've been studying the cake threads). I'm not telling DH that I ordered it though. I want it to be a surprise. I got it for the night that we are eating at Chef Mickey's.

I also want to order one for DH for our 5th anniversary when we eat at 1900 Park Fare for dinner. BUt when I called the lady that answered couldn't help me, so she put me through to someone's voicemail. I hope I hear back from them when DH is not around though. I don't want him to find out what I'm plotting!

I love Disney plotting!

call back and leave your cell number! lol thats what i had to do...and when pat called me back dh almost picked it up and i went no!!!! its probably a text from blah. then i had to take my cell inthe bathroom(very tiny house!) and go over it with her....then i had to tell him it was a friend calling from her honeymoon in the states while at the outlets! lol he bought it completley.

Here are pictures from our cake on Dec 10th. I had called YC private dining to have it sent to our room after 6:30pm and it was there after 6:30pm.

I wanted a 6inch cake with xmas colors (thinking xmas frosting colors) and got this for $30 plus tax and delivery charges. It was not charged to my room and I havent gotten my credit card statement to see if it was charged to my card that was on file for the cake.

It ended up being a nice little cake and was gone in a day with about 6 pieces total. Next time I will get the 8 inch cake esp, if we are not on a DDP.

It was fresh tasting and I'm glad I went with Van/Van

I did leave my cell number. I'm worried she's going to call when DH is around though. We have a small house, so there are not many rooms I can run to. She didn't call today, so I guess it won't be until Monday?

All of these cakes look great!!! I'm going to the World with my two nephews in August. We're celebrating a kindergarten graduation and a 2nd birthday. Any cake recommendations?

Here's my Birthday Cake from Grand Floridian Cafe. I ordered the cake from Pat, and told her I wanted a Cinderalla Slipper and Poinsettias, with lots of buttercream! All the sugar figurines were a complete surprise!! They were so cute! It was so hard for us to cut into it, every time you looked at it you saw something new! There was so much detail - even the slipper had a Hidden Mickey!! :cloud9:

Everyone made such a fuss over it, I even had another diner ask to take a picture, which of course I agreed to! :goodvibes

The total cost was $77, and even my DH agreed it was worth every penny!

That's a great looking cake!! After seeing some of these cakes and what they cost...I really am bummed  at the price I paid for the one I got. I'm thinking I should have complained about it.

What a whimsical Christmas cake. I just love it.:goodvibesHope I have luck with cakes next December. Fingers crossed and counting the days.:santa:

that is a beautiful cake!! How did it taste?

I have to admit - the buttercream was yummy, the cake part was just okay. However, I've always believed that cake was just the delivery mechanism for buttercream frosting, so I had no problem with that! :lmao:

Plus, most of the sugar figures were pretty good! The gingerbread men and the candy canes just melted in your mouth! I actually brought several of the figures home with me - the deer, the angel, Santa, and the elf! Still haven't figured out what to do with them!

I love your cake too! They were making little gingerbread houses in front of the Grand Floridian gingerbread house yesterday, and they using the the same little cute sugar figures that they put on your cake to decorate the little houses. So cute. :santa: That sure is a lot of buttercream!
