is that two-layer, mini castle cake (page 227, post 3398) still $25?!

i would think it would be more, with 2 layers - whatever it is, i'm thinking of upgrading to this two-layer version myself in december!

I think that's what I ordered today. Looks like what the lady (Linda) described. It's super small though by what the lady said. It only feeds one. It's 3 inches on bottom and 2 inches on top then the topper. $25. I figured that we are eating on the dp at narcoossee's and since we'll already be having other dessert we can just share the cake. it's more of a cute little anniversary thing i'm doing not a wow let's eat lots of yummy cake thing.

that's exactly what DH and i are planning on in december - eating at narcoosees (on DDP) and getting the mini castle cake as an anniversary "extra" (in addition to the desserts - there's no way i'm going to pass up that almond crusted cheesecake!)

how far ahead of your ADR did you order this cake?

i was thinking to order it about a week ahead (so there's less a chance of my order getting lost or forgotten)

we will be there (at narcoossee's) in 9 days- see ticker:yay: . just thought of it today as a little extra to do. upgraded to dxddp last week as a suprise also. i really doubt dh is gonna care about any of this. he says he just tolerates disney because it makes me and ds happy ;) yeah right

Last October I Remember seeing a # for the Cake hotline for each resort, I did that at POFQ and it was great. I want to do it at SSR but don't see any # anyone know it? Maybe I am just overlooking it.

What is the castle topper made out of? And will they box it up for me? I plan on the ooh aaah factor and then replaving it with our original cake topper.

Wendy

Hi Wendy,
That 2 tier castle cake looked beautiful and would be a perfect Anniversary cake. We'll be dining at 1900 PF with our kids to celebrate our 20th Anniversary next month. Can you tell me the size? how many would it feed? price? flavors available with a 2 tier? If you had the cheesecake, how was it? Sorry for so many questions, but I would like to order it and want to be prepared when I call. Thanks!

We finally got our order in for a cake from Boardwalk today. Pick it up Thursday. Marble cake, chocolate mousse filling, white buttercream icing and a character image on top. Will bring pictures when I return. Thanks to all for the help! What an odyssey this has been, trying to order a cake! Little did I know I'd end up wishing I was staying home and getting a cake from Farm Fresh! :rotfl2:

I have the same exact cake ordered for WCC for may 29th. At least that is what I ordered. I am wondering if I am going to get what I ordered.:confused3
After reading everything I am afraid it will just be a cake with flowers. I sure hope they keep their word. My son would hate to have flowers on his cake for his 11th birthday. LOL.

How much did it cost Donald?
I was told mine would be $85.00 for the 10 inch cake that the marble cake chocolate mouse filling and white icing with a white chocolate Donald on
top. I called Another restaurant who had the 8 inch cake for 25 and the Donald ranges from 30 and up. SO she told me. I sure hope WCC keeps there word and delievers the cake with no flowers and the Donald they said they could get. I If I am willing to pay for it and it is within there bakery that they would do it. I was told I could get the Mickey Head cake but that it would feed up to 30 people and thee is only 6 of us 4 being kids.

I have a question about the Tuxedo Strawberries and Mickey Mouse that i saw earlier on in this thread... I know that GF can arrange these, but is there any way possible to have them sent to either my room, (staying in All Star Music) or to a resturant?? My DBF would LOVE :lovestruc these, seeing strawberries are one of his favorite foods!!! Any input would help!! Thanks DIS'ers!:thumbsup2

As far as I know they are only available at the deluxe resorts. For sure I know they are available at the GF and at the Boardwalk and I think the other deluxes have access to them.

I know that the GF does not deliver to other resorts unless you have conceirge and arrange to pay a hefty price.

Does anyone know how much the tuxedo strawberries with the chocolate Mickey costs? We are staying at the GF and I would like to order these to be waiting on us in our room upon arrival. DH & I are celebrating a wedding anniversary :) Thanks!

I paid about $50 with taxs/fees for mine at the Boardwalk. I believe that brakes down to $25 for Mickey and then $5 for each strawberry.

I was going through some of our pictures from our last trip, and I couldn't remember if I ever came back here to post the pics of DS's birthday cake..

It was a chocolate cake, with chocolate mousse filling, and chocolate butter cream. It was done by the GF Bakery and was $100.

It was very good, BUT, a little toooo chocolaty..even for us. Next time I think we would change the flavors up a bit.

We will be celebrating Father's Day at CRT. Our first time there--it was what DH wanted. We have 4 kids--any ideas on a special cake idea for Father's Day at CRT? I keep scrolling through this wonderful thread, but with 4 kids, looking at the pix of cakes is rough! Thanks!:goodvibes

I'd ordered a 10" white buttercream icing, chocolate cake & strawberries/custard filling cake for a dinner at Narcoossee's on Monday night. It wasn't a special occasion so I asked them to put "DISNEY WISHES" on it. Wishes is our favorite fireworks and we were going to watch them during dinner.

Originally I asked if I could get a small outline of a turret (to represent the castle) on it but was told no. Then I asked if they could draw a few squiggly lines for fireworks and was told yes, for an additional $30. So I finally asked is there ANYTHING you can do to make sure there's some color on it? I didn't get a definitive yes, it was more of a they'd try but it depended on who would decorate it. :confused3

Monday night arrives. We have a wonderful dinner and after Wishes, they bring out this huge cake for the 4 of us. They cut it (I took a photo but the design wasn't anything special - disappointing). We each had a piece but no one finished it -- it was terrible; the chocolate cake was so so dry.

I offered it to our waiter to share with the people working in the restaurant but let him know it was terribly dry. I was so surprised when he brought out the bill and told me he'd taken off the cake since we didn't like it. He said they'd send the GF bakery a note in the morning about how dry it was. I really appreciated him doing that but really just wanted the cake to be special and delicious - the way our last one was back in Sept :(

hope no one has a similar experience.
